August 12, 1985. Yuki Kazumasa, an editor from Kita Kanto Shimbun, was planning to climb Mount Takamagahara in Gunma prefecture, together with Anzai Keiichiro of sales department. While preparing for this adventure, Sayama, a reporter from social affairs desk informed Kazumasa that a jumbo jet had disappeared. It was soon found that the plane crashed in the area of Mount Takamagahara, the climbing site, and recorded as the deadliest single-aircraft accident in aviation history. Kazumasa was entrusted by the Editor-in Chief to lead the plenipotentiary desk for the incident with articles about the Japan Airlines crash and he was forced to make serious and delicate decisions one after another.
