This drama is well written!! Phenomenal and fantastic is what to describe this drama. The plot will touch the viewers along with the scenery. When I first saw the trailer, it reminded me of Descendants of the Sun especially since it is very similar in terms of the setting. A "remote" area with military and missionaries.

The two male leads' chemistry is undeniably off the charts. I am so happy that there was no unnecessary draggy drama between them. The writers literally gave me diabetes in the last episode cause it is so sweet and steamy. Especially the scene where the other guy knocked on their house since "it was shaking". HEHEHEHEHEHE

Also, I am so happy that there is no super loud background music. I really hate that especially in other dramas, it is such a big turn-off for me when I am watching. So I am happy that this Thai drama did not follow that route.

Foundational Romance Trope? Fated mates

Some of us have been waiting for this series for a really long time now. The fact that it had so many production issues made me nervous going in. However, I really loved the story. I found the chemistry with the leads uncertain at first. Hard to pin down why, but I keep having this issue with Earth. In the end, I got over it (or they did).

Formerly known as Tale of Thousand Stars (the title change was a good call). It neatly avoid GMMTV’s previous BL’s (Tonton Chonlatee, My Gear & Your Gown) ending issues. And though it was slow to find its stride, this show probably has one of the most romantic endings ever filmed in BL.

On the whole it leaned hard on classic romance (rather than yaoi) tropes which resulted in a mature, sweet, charming, smart series with a FANtASTIC finale. Tonally it was a lot more like, oh I don’t know, Love O2O meets The Notebook only gay. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would at the start, but was it BL? Probably not. Who cares though.

The best series I ever seen

I am weibo . This series is one of the best thing happens in my life. Every thing was perfect and satisfied. From stating to end I enjoy every episode. The series teaches me the love of understanding and respect. If you haven’t watched it yet then what are you waiting for. The chemistry between two lead was perfectly shown. You don’t have to say I love you by words, but can feel by actions. I am very thankful to gmmtv for making such great series. This series is full of satisfying play. Leads acting was too good and real. The cuteness of leads melt my heart . After the untamed this is something I love the most in bl drama. If I started to explain my review about this series then I think I can’t explain perfectly because i have so many things to say and don’t know how too start it. I highly recommend this series to bl fan. If you don’t love it then change my name. It’s too lovely and feel proud to watch this series. One of the best series I've ever watched.

Not only the best BL drama, this is one of the best drama for me. The messages about slice of life hit me hard, specifically to know and value your life and yourself. The romance might not display a lot of skinship, but Phupha and Tian's eyes tell us all. It is all about sincere, pure, true love without any hurry. Both took their times to know each other, to acknowledge each other's presence and personality. There is no significant villain or third person that hinder their relationship, only reality is. The overall story is just.. real. I highly recommend this series to anyone, not just BL series lovers.

A lovely touching story ...

Wow what can i even say about this show, it was truly an amazing and touching story, with really exceptions actors who matched well, and portrayed they role really well.

Tale of a thousand 1000 stars is one of the best shows that I have watched so far, the cinematography, acting, music literally everything was perfection.

The storyline is so unique in the BL world. It's a game changer from the usual university-themed Y series we used to see in this genre. The ending was good. My eyes are sheading tears while smiling, What I love the most in this series is how they showed the contrast among social classes, and making the viewers learn how to value their lives. Showing the difference between people in the higher and lower class of the society results to realizations and understanding among its members. A rich boy realizing how happy living in a simple life in the village; however, if villagers have their choice will they choose to stay where they are? -- it's reality vs. practicality question.

Their acting is so natural and effective, the emotions was delivered properly, Meanwhile, I don't think anyone is more fit for the character of Phupha rather than Earth. Earth's expressive eyes and effective line delivery is what he made me impressed. Tian and phupha had so much chemistry and tension you couldn't even deal if you tried. The side characters were also well played and worked well together, and came across with there own emotions and showed there feelings. I can not in all honesty say that there was any bad acting, I mean even the kids played there role really well.

Overall: This is a really good dam drama, and is well worth watching again, if not just too see Earth shirtless, but everything about this drama was well thought through and well excuted!!!

Very lovely!

Very clean and lovely BL.

So, lets’ start with the most obvious thing, there is no sex or kissing. The BL is very lovely and pure. The story is something different from the usual love story (high school, or enemy turns to loved one). Furthermore, the episodes are 45min (something that I really loved).

The entire story really makes you think as well about your own life and what you want to do with it. Do you have a true purpose or just going with the flow?

I really recommend this BL if you are looking for a change from the typical stories. The best part is the end. It really ended in a very lovely way!

The best BL Series for me

I love the storytelling of A Tale of Thousand Stars. Aside from the great chemistry of EarthMix, it has so much feelings of it such as the ambiance of the place, the villagers involved, the kids who were cute and the protector of the village. EarthMix really stand out on this series and they delivered there roles which exceeded my expectation. I'm still having a Separation Anxiety because of this series. Hope they will release a Special Episode and another BL Series of EarthMix. A Tale of Thousand Stars so far is the Best BL Series for me, so for those who don't watch it, you really missed something big.

A unique and heartwarming story brought to life by an enchanting and talented cast

This series is a breath of fresh air. It has a unique and moving overarching plot, wonderful characters and character development, perfect music, and a great production crew and dedicated cast.

Pros
- A unique and compelling plot that touches on many complex themes. The plot unfolds and blends perfectly with the broader romance story, keeping everything cohesive and moving forward.
- The two leads have been cast perfectly. Their enchanting chemistry and emotions are apparent in every interaction, no matter how small. You can tell how much they really embraced and fully embodied their roles.
- A truly high-quality production with a dedicated production team and cast that gave this their all, making for a superb final product. The behind-the-scenes documentary shows the amount of dedication required to film this series on location up in the rural mountains and the passion and commitment from the director as well as the cast.

Cons
- There are a few slightly impractical or unrealistic premises in this series that may stick out for some people.

Overall
- This is a truly thought-provoking series. If you're tired of 1-dimensional characters in a university setting getting caught up in superficial squabbles, then this series will give you a dose of something much deeper and more meaningful.

Originality at Best

What can I say? The music, the acting, the setting, everything about this series was just fantastic.

For being a rookie actor and his first project, Mix definitely outdid himself. GMM definitely has a penchant for finding new rookie actors for projects that do amazingly well for their first time acting. Earth as well as other veteran actors were amazing as well. Earth definitely shone in this series. Like Aof said, he was definitely made for this role.

The story is so original. Not a typical school setting/slice of life story, but an actual interesting and original plotline though there may have been some cliché moments like misunderstanding at certain points. Which, by the way, were solved relatively fast.

The setting and film location was beautiful and we can see how much work the cast and staff put into making everything so believable. I applaud every single cast and crew member for their outstanding work!

The music! THE MUSIC! Every single time that I've listened to any version of 1000 Stars I always get emotional. Probably one of the best OSTs (IMO) for any series amongst others.

If I could go back and watch this series brand new again; I definitely would. This is a standard I wish GMM will continue producing in the future. Something amazing and original!

Definitely recommend for any who are unsure!

This series was the best balance between drama, romance, and thriller. Seriously it was really well done. The chemistry between the main leads and also the rest of the cast was really good. I was already hooked from the beginning since the plot was different from your average BL series plot. The cinematography and music were also outstanding and the messages that the series left us were really good. It was emotional at times and it did make me cry on more than one occasion but that just goes to show how invested I was in this series. I know the romance aspect was a bit slow-paced but to me, it felt right. I loved it and I hope many more people watch it and love it the same.

I think I rewatched al the episodes like 5 times a week lol

I have been waiting for this series ever since the first trailer came out in 2019 so I anticipated this series in 2020 but things happened so it was postponed to 2021... I gotta say that IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT ME ONE BIT. It was definitely worth the wait and now that it ended AAAA I wanna cry,,

You can just see and feel how much they love and long for each other through their eyes and you can see how human they are... making mistakes, being afraid and disappointed.. although the villagers kind of pissed me of in the beginning and their acting are a bit meh, it's understandable..

Lastly, AAAAAA I love how they end the series differently from the novel coz it FEELS MORE REALISTIC so it doesn't feel rushed.

The main plot in this drama, is about Tian, from a wealthy family, trying to find where he belongs in life. He is given that awakening from a very dramatic tragedy. I thought the plot was excellent and well thought out. The acting between the two male leads were good, as was the rest of the cast. A few silly unnecessary parts, but that’s what you get with dramas. Tian was a very believable actor, especially when he looked at Phupha with adoring puppy dog eyes. The drama wasn’t perfect, but it kept my interest. It seemed more like a bromance through most of the movie, rather than the intended BL theme. If you are looking for a lot of physical contact between the male leads, you won’t find it here. One short kiss at the end, some hugging and hand holding, but that’s it. But, the drama really didn’t need it to be good, because the story was good. For me, in any love story, whether it’s BL or not though, I would have liked more on screen affection with the actors.
