Totally blown away

This was one of the few dramas that I read every single word to understand the plot.... Amazing how it unfolds. I really liked the action that was packed in it and the plot kept me in suspense.

One of the earliest dramas I watched that sparked my interest in subsequent 谍战dramas. And I have uncovered my strong interest in these types of dramas much more so than those modern day sweet love dramas....

Huang XUAN is a great actor and there was so much love-hate / respect between him and his past buddy. What I truly 3njoyed was how the snipping theme was incorporated into the political and military struggle set in a time of the Japanese occupation.

Don't know why this was so underrated and would totally recommend this. A similar story was also found in - ARROWS ON BOWSTRING drama. Instead of bullets the 3 siblings used arrows. But so give this a go for anyone who enjoys suspense, war, military and just pure good acting.

my god this was good. Story on Chi Tiecheng and Su Wenqian's side was very good, solid 8/10. Only lowered it 2 stars because it was frustrating watching how nobody believed Wenqian at first and Qi Zishu's stupidity had my blood pressure spiking. On the other hand, the military, Liao Jie, that old guy with glasses- I skipped over 99% of that because I honestly wasn't interested. It was a good side story and gave insight to the bigger picture, but I personally preferred the main story. Watching the old men in uniform wasn't nearly as exhilarating as the dynamic between the main leads.

Huan Xuan's acting was perfection. Absolute perfection. The way he portrays Su Wenqian's character as an overall very calm, serious, detached (but somehow also incredibly emotional) person was simply a masterpiece. My beloved Chi Chi played Chi Tiecheng just as well. It's funny watching his expressions and his laugh because its all so familiar and i feel like i'm getting deja vu from the occasional twitches. I'm so biased toward Chen He it was impossible to fully hate Chi Tiecheng, but goddamn, it was a struggle.

The plot is honestly not super good (it's no Detective L or Joy of Life), but it's the kind of thing that leaves you satisfied and completely awestruck by the end. I'm glad the romance wasn't a big factor in this and I really enjoyed the odd love-hate relationship between Chi Tiecheng and Su Wenqian.

Of course, this is not a BL, but it can fool you for a couple eps ;) hang in there. I swear it gets better. You just gotta power through the first couple eps where literally everyone hates Su Wenqian.

It's worth it. 100%

One of best story I ever watched

I really like intelligent competition and love-hate relationship between male lead. Jelly fish team is ver impressive and worth to have their spin off story.

At first I thought I couldn't finish long 57 episodes drama. Couple first episodes so slow and it has too many dialogue. Huang Xuan acting as Su Wen Qian made me stay and continue to watch to the end of episodes. He really portray good emotions as retired sniper and father. I really interested to watch his relationship with Tie Cheng and Xiao Xue. They both also have very good acting.

After 16 episodes, the story get more intense. A lot flashback story not make me bored, It help building the story and pace. All characters has significant dialogue and role. I did some rewatch because I am curious to understand the plot and scheme.

But it's pity near the end of series, the story go down. It is not boring and still worth to be watched but some cast get different character development. The dialogue and plot also not deep as previous episodes, as it has different writer.

Rewatch: definitely, because I skip some scene also want to remember some best part of the series.
