Never felt pain like this

I have never felt more frustrated and annoyed with a Kdrama before, I literally have an assignment due in 2 days, which I have barely started FYI, but I chose to watch Love Alarm instead, BIG F****** MISTAKE. I waited 2 years for season 2, only to find out that Jojo doesn't even end up with Sun-oh, are you kidding me????? The two people who were literally made for each other and had the most chemistry didn't end up together? And you wanna know how I found out??? I googled it. because when I got halfway through episode 4 something felt off to me so I gave in and googled, only to find out that the ending is complete BS. I really wanna sue Netflix for this emotional trauma. I may sound like I'm exaggerating, but oh my god if you saw the look on Sun-ohs face, I felt so bad for that poor puppy, he suffered the entire two seasons, his friend literally stole the love of his life and his dad is the worlds biggest prick. And to be honest, Fricking Hye-Yeong was a shit friend, as soon as he saw Jojo again he jumped at the opportunity to go after her, despite what had happened between her and Sun-oh. Hye-Yeong's character felt forced and honestly he was so boring, and what was the need to bring his dad into the picture, it just felt like they were trying to make the storyline interesting which did not work at all. I haven't even finished the drama, I can't bring myself to finishing it because I know that all I will feel is anger and disappointment. I didn't like Sun-ohs girlfriend either, like grow a damn backbone and go after a guy that will return your feelings. And as much as I liked Jojo, she pissed me off too but let's not get into that.
This drama was toxic in a way, it was kind of teaching us that it's okay to be with someone who doesn't feel the same as you, which honestly isn't healthy at all, that type of pain isn't worth it. You should be with someone who loves you for you and doesn't inflict any emotional or physical pain on you.
Rant over I guess, probs gonna cry myself to sleep.

im 4 eps in, and i must say, season 1 was way better. honestly, it isn’t that interesting, and got quite boring. there are a lot of lacking factors in this drama.

some scenes seemed so long, but weren’t even that important. i’ve also been watching in1.5x speed btw. i feel like i would still get a gist of the story if i skipped some parts.

could’ve honestly been better if they placed it all in one season.
——————————————————————————
i feel so bad for sun oh... it seems like they quite cared for each other in the first season. here it seems like she didn't even consider his feelings much. kim jojo was quite indecisive, and it just hurt others??

i already know the ending even tho i havent watched the whole thing btw, i spoiled myself on purpose bc the story was getting to draggy.

it wasn’t worth waiting for not gonna lie except finding out who she was gonna end up with.

Why I liked this season of Love Alarm and why you should hear me out

Guys, I know most of you are mad but hear me out!
To me, this season made sense. It was not as aesthetically beautiful as season 1 was (honestly, season 1's beauty was the reason I watched this drama ) nor it was as engaging. But I genuinely liked it.
Let me tell you all this, we all fell for Song Kang and not Sun Oh (if you did fall for Sun Oh then please get some help) Sun Oh was madly in love with Jojo, to a point where he was possessive and he was obsessed with her. He got frustrated when she didn't reply to his texts and he always clung to her like some leech. The first episode of season 1 made me really not like Sun Oh (I watched the first season only a few days ago and I thought I was ready to make Sun Oh my next kdrama boyfriend because of the hype he got from people saying that he's the sweetest ) I didn't have any prior info about this show so my opinion is really unbiased. But Hye yeong was too sweet. He didn't do much and practically gave up when he found out that Jojo likes Sun Oh and I respect that about him, because Jojo already liked Sun Oh so he didn't try to change her feelings or anything (not to mention that he still remained good friends with Sun oh and told him to be there for Jojo) Here's the thing : Sun Oh wanted Jojo to be happy with him but Hye Yeong wanted Jojo to be happy. It didn't matter if the person who made Jojo happy was him, Sun Oh or someone else). In season 2, Sun Oh becomes this obsessive ex, he went wherever Jojo went and demanded for an answer. Honestly, I do agree that the reason that Jojo dumped Sun oh was extremely dumb. They were in a relationship so they should've talked about it (they must've done that) but Jojo decided to become a dumb bitch and didn't explain herself and I really wished she did. Although I do feel bad for Sun Oh but I like how they didn't stick to the "first love" bullshit. It happens so often in kdramas (and all dramas honestly) when in reality, it hardly comes true. I was also a bit upset about the ending, not because Sun Oh and Jojo don't end up together but because Song Kang and So Hyun have great chemistry when the other actor and So Hyun don't have that much. They look cute but chemistry? Nope.
Trust me, if I were Jojo, I would've picked Hye Yeong any day because I've been in a similar situation like this. The guy may love you a lot but is he any good for you? Let's be honest, who would you choose? A guy who loves you to death but he's possessive and literally so fucking obsessed with you that he doesn't even leave you alone or a guy who loves you, respects that fact that you like someone else and still waits for you without genuinely wanting his feelings to be reciprocated? If you choose the former, trust me you really really need some help because possessive behaviours and stuff like that shouldn't ever be romanticised even when the person is smokin hot and is madly in love with you. It just shouldn't.
Many of you would hate me for writing this but with time, you all will realise it.
PS: I gave this season an eight out of ten because of its acting, music, some really beautiful shots. Not because of the ending or the poor writing.

Love

Okay, JOJO is a gold digger, and why? who paid for her field trip to Jeju island? Who paid for their ice skate date? It was SUN-OH, TEAM HYE YOUNG!!!!! as all HYE YOUNG gave was nothing! TEAM SUN-OH!!! and the fact that HYE YOUNG made SUN OH suffer and made him as a love bridge so he could make JOJO fall in love with him. Like SUN OH respected you and all you gave him was NO=RESPECT! I would actually not recommend you to watch this crap. We just wasted our wifi bill just for this garbage drama. If you ever watched season one there's a scene where HYE YOUNG just moved SUN OH and said give her a time... And guess what in this garbage drama B=+-H HYE YOUNG just made her focus on him! #teamsunoh

Cute but kinda dumb

Along with everyone else who watched Love Alarm in 2019, I was looking forward to season 2 so much. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't LOVE season 1, but I thought it was interesting and it definitely grabbed my attention.

There are many thing's that went wrong with season two. I shall proceed to list a few, but I don't want to spoil so I will be very vague.

1. Too Short - I feel like this is an obvious one considering there are only 6 episodes.

2. Underdeveloped Characters - Just when I thought we were gonna get some juicy background on someone, they left us hanging. There were new characters introduced, but I still can't comprehend their relevance to the storyline.

3. Acting - Okay, please don't come for my head. THEY'RE CUTE, I KNOW! But you have to admit, the acting is a little bit on the overly dramatic side from time to time.

4. Climax - I don't know... what the climax was? Where was it? When?

5. Effects - Only good effect was the rain. That's it.

Why Rating is Low?

Clearly, the most of the viewers have watched this whole show while being biased towards one of the male leads.
Whenever a love triangle is strong, the rating of the series get heavily affected.

Watching from a neutral point of view, without liking one ML over the other, the story was quite well executed. I loved the OST, the production was obviously very high as Netflix was involved, the animations were superb.

The female lead because of the her horrible past, was quite selfish in some of her choices as clearly portrayed at the end of Season 2 as she herself comes to realize how selfish her choices were.

Unfortunately the ones to suffer due to female lead's choices were the two male leads. Considering that Sun-Oh fell for JJ knowing how much of a crush his best friend had on her and Hye-yeong also was ultimately unable to keep the childhood promise he made to Sun-Oh. The whole thing is a a bit Karmic and balances everything out.

With everyone having their share of trouble and ultimately finding some kind of happiness in the end.

This is only worth watching if you are able to watch it without tilting towards one of the male leads, If you do then you will be very angry the way the story goes and how it ends.

Don’t focus on who Jojo ends up with, focus on the overall message of the story

I absolutely loved Love Alarm 2, I know many people are mad because Jojo didn’t end up with Sun Oh and because of that they hate on the drama but they are missing the important point here, SunOh was her first love but because of her past and her scars she broke up with him and then Jojo met Hye Yeong and she was given a new chance at love, because of him Jojo learn to not run away from her problems anymore and be honest with her feelings, she was given a new hope and a chance to be happy again, and that’s the beauty of the drama, Jojo was able to overcame her hurtful past with HyeYeong at her side and the two are adorable. The drama also offered a realistic approach to relationships and emphasize the importance of not validating your feelings through and app but through yourself, remember the drama repeated multiple times that Jojo chose HyeYeong by her OWN volition, so please stop the hate and enjoy the drama by watching the story through a new perspective. The story is beautiful and makes sense :)

A cliche that did well

this felt like the writer opened the "big book of cliche" every writer has and tried to color outside the lines

this was more than "who the ml is", that was never a question, it was just the fans' desire. the true value of this was the metaphor of love. love is a feeling, a relationship needs work

jojo had feelings for sunho but she got too scared, it was overwhelming for her so she ran away, the moment she got the shield her heart felt safe, people didn't have the upper hand on her, they couldn't judge her for her feelings. sunho was burdensome for her

I feel like that's how I usually see the typical "rich guy, poor sad lonely girl" dynamic. sunho was too dominate, he always screamed and demanded attention. he went head 1st without looking at the people around him. he kissed jojo when he knew his best friend liked her, he kissed jojo again when he knew she was dating his ex friend, and he never did that to show his affection, he wanted to see how she'd react

Hye Young was at times too supportive that it was a burden of it's own. he was almost nearing a doormat level, but he also took a step back when he got hurt, and he went after her again becasue he wanted to even when she told him to wait. and I think that balanced him out

to the shallow bitter people, even though sunho wasn't a 1st main, he still had his own love line and I'm happy for that, usually 2nd leads are mistreated..

sunho lost his love become he was too aggressive and he lost his friend becasue he never looked at them, he also lost the only (figuratively) girl that liked him even though he mistreated her too, but I'm so glad he learned that love isn't just a burst of feeling.
love is working for a compromise, love is waiting and understanding, love isn't at 1st sight, love doesn't stay if it's not taken care of.

I'm so sure jojo and sunho would've had a worse ending if they stayed together, he always wanted her attention he didn't try to pay attention to her. she was just something he wanted that was taken away from him...
I also didn't like all the tragic pasts and the parents, but as I said it was as if the writer was working from a book of cliches, that's why s1 sucked xD

anyway I liked this more than the 1st season and I think by now we should learn, kdramas will never stray away from the 1st ml, and Hye Young is the 1st ml

I also liked the length, the ost and the aesthetics. I didn't mind the ep length when the "dragginess" was to show us pretty scenes.

Not your regular Kdrama!

Season 1 and 2 have a totally different vibe.
But, I think there is a reason for this and it was done on purpose like that. Season 1 describes the puppy love of the main characters, her childhood trauma, and the friendship of the boys. Season 2, although it seems disconnected from season 1, it actually isn't. It has coherence. It's gloomy, dark, it's where conflicts are solved because the three of them are adults now. Because life is not always happy and joyful, at any age but probably much less at adulthood.

I kept wondering why Kim Jo Jo can't say at loud who she loves in S 2. So, I went back and rewatch S 1 for my 8th time, I think. And there it was the reason. She didn't trample two friends. Hye Young falls in love with her but he was too timid to confess his love. Sun Oh also falls in love with her at first sight, she didn't seduce him. And Sun Oh suspected that Hye Young liked her and he didn't care about his friend's feelings. To be fair he asked HY several times, but he couldn't say it. But after many times SO asked it, he should have known better.

Kim Jo Jo was a conflicted girl from the start because of her past, unable to vocalize her fears and doubts she, obviously, couldn't solve by herself. And after all, she only was a teenager. It will be too much to ask a teenager to deal by her/himself with a such heavy load.
Her family wasn't the most loving and caring environment, and still, she grows up decent and hard-working, knowing about life responsibilities way too early.

All her decisions are rooted there, in the unresolute past (at that time in S1). She lacks a really good friend, a good guide in life like a mother or anybody that could decently guide her to know how to deal with all her insecurities. So she became gloomier, darker, saddest. She like every other woman that suffer because of love said those words: "... I already decided that I wouldn't ever like anyone else again". But those words were said in a time frame of frustration. But life continues, our opinions may change and that's is not wrong. Is not lacking in conviction, is growing from experience because after all, all of us want to love and be loved.

Sun Oh wasn't left out there in the cold, by Kim Jo Jo. She managed it wrong, yes probably, but she was a teenager, so from her teen years she doesn't have to be perfect. His proclaimed love was more obsession than anything else. He didn't stay faithful to her, he gets together to Yook Jo showing that he didn't love Kim Jo Jo. Otherwise, he'd wait, and fight for her. He left go of her hand as soon he came back home after the accident. He could have escaped and go to see her, but he didn't. So, she wasn't his choice either. His love was selfish, loud, and violent. He couldn't have a decent conversation with her after they broke up, he only could express himself yelling at her. Meanwhile, Hye Young was gentle and his love although silent was steady from start to end. Of course, he also has his own conflicts, but who doesn't? His love was real, not in the spur of the moment, no just curiosity. He respects her, all the time. He acts based on what will hurt Kim Jo-Jo and not based on his own selfish motives. Because he truly loved her from the start.

Sun Oh didn't lose his smile, we can see him smiling pretty often with his new girlfriend Yook Jo.

The casting was excellently done. The chemistry was there: between the main leads, in their respective roles as girlfriend-boyfriend and as friends too.

The acting was really good, all of them. The crazy, rude, unreasonable cousin was very well portrayed.

I also liked her drawing in The Ringing World. I liked how they depicted her gloominess.

A Harsh Reality We All Have To Face

Hello Everyone,

I came here knowing that there weren't many good reviews about this show. I will not discourage anyone's feelings in this review, so bear with me. I personally understood this season, and if I were to compare the two seasons, I'd pick both.
We know that all the attention was towards Sun Oh and Jojo in the first season, but the second season is where the "fun" beings. There were times that we support the characters, and there were times where we hate them. But, we all can understand the time where our Life comes down to one single moment, in this case, ringing some's alarm.

This story wasn't about who should be the first lead or the second or who loves Jojo; it was about who she loves with no strings attached. Now, I may sound weird to some, and others may hate me. I think Sun Oh's love was heartfelt but selfish. He was obsessed with the alarm rather than understanding his own feelings. He loved her deeply but couldn’t express without an alarm. At the same time, Hye Yeong didn’t need an alarm to be sure of his feelings. He was confident about his love for Jojo, and he was willing to wait for her. That's why Hye Yeong was hurt when he knew about the shield and the spear.

Now to our most hated/loved female lead, Kim Jojo. I don't think there is any other actor who can portray this character more beautiful than her. She has won my mini heart. If I were to explain her character, I wouldn’t do any justice to her. She is a representative of people who are scared to love others, to be loved, and to be broken. Her actions are scattered throughout both seasons. She didn’t let an alarm decide her fate, and she fought with herself for her right choice. She was scared and alone for so many years, and she finally decided what you right for her.

I would happily go back and rewatch both seasons and understand their characters way better than now.

Thank you,
AG❤️

HY and JJ is perfect fit

What SO and JJ feel for each other was just a puppy love.they were both immature and scared to open up with each other. Its harder for JJ since she have no one to ask guidance about thise kind of things ,SO atleast have HY but JJ literally have no one. I dont really like the love triangle among friends, maybe thats why i don't approve SO to be in a relationship with JJ.since it's SO who comes out of no where and starts chasing after the girl whom his bestfriend has been chasing for god knows how long in the first place. He's the one who ruined their friendship. SO kept on yelling and telling her that she likes him and boss JJ around regarding that matter that made her confuse to her own feelings. She's feeling that way because she knows that its all her fault, she's guilty. But for me it's not right. He can least let her say what she truly feels than saying things that based on his own hunch. How can she explain herself if SO won't believe her in any ways. Not being able to accept rejection is kinda immature.HY in the other hand makes a move when JJ was in her miserable days. Its the love that won't pressure you on liking him back. It's pure. He don't dictate her feeling and just letting her be.Its a mature love.Maybe there's less fun moments but the sincerity and comfort was there.just being with each other makes them the happiest. When one of them was having a hard time or not doing well at all they'll unknowingly go to each other or meet at the middle.Meanwhile if it's SO and JJ,one of them will run away and longer the gap with each other. Not because that person is inconsiderate but because being far away with the other one brings much more comfort. Love is like rowing on a boat.If one of any of the sides stop moving it won't bring you at right path and will eventually get lost. It's either both of you will make a move or none at all. For me HY and JJ is a perfect fit.
