Trash.

The plot can be descried in one word; trash. No matter how good the acting is, it cannot make up for the terrible plot.

The plot was not unique; it was the same classical boys over a girl but adding an love app to the mix. The reason this plot was supper disappointed was because of the main character Jo-Jo who was so-so throughout the series. She could not decide on what she wanted until the end. Furthermore, she had to rely on an app to decide how she felt... Like seriously? How could you not know YOUR FEELINGS? Also, how could she not figure them out even after 5+ years? She doesn't need love, she needs serious therapy.

One thing that annoyed me to the end was that she was never able to give Sun-Oh a proper reason as to why she did not want to be with him anymore. Also, poor Sun-Oh was rejected until every end and he wasn't even able to get over his feelings. The writers just make him end up with someone without even giving him proper closure with his ex.

Jojo can be described as a coward throughout the series as she just running away from her feelings. I honestly don't feel any pity or relate to her. Throughout the plot, she was going back on forth between her feelings as if she deciding between chocolate and vanilla. She ruined the boy's friendship and the worst part is she always plays the victim.

The least she would've done was have some character development, but she didn't. She doesn't grow up even as an adult. She runs away from her problems like she always does. She remains selfish and a self-centered bxxx to the end.

I wouldn't recommend this, but if you want to waste time, go ahead! This series is just about a girl who's going back and forth as she is too much of a baby to figure out what she wants as a teenager or an adult.

"I'll hurt everyone around me so I won't be the only one who is hurting."

IF YOU PLAN TO WATCH THIS, JUST DON'T HURT YOUR FEELINGS, PASS THIS.

WHY? That is going to be my only question for the writers of this season. I don't have the words to say how much of a disappointment this season was. Even though JoJo and SunOh didn't end up together, I am VERY disappointed how this ended.
So basically, she hurt everyone around her, because she was hurting and didn't know how to cope with her pain.
She played with their feelings, went back and forth between the guys just so she can hurt them, while she is hurting herself.
I just don't get it. Work on yourself first and when you are ready emotionally and mentally then try to find your other half.
The way they made me cry for SunOh at the end was too much. He will stay unhappy for some time but I really hope that he can move on and be happy and be with someone who deserves his love, warmth and respect. JoJo lost him trying to protect her own feelings. Never cared for his feelings and I just don't get it.
She will be happy but I know in the back of her mind there always be SunOh, because she knows what she has done to him.
This was a disappointment. Waiting two years for what? FOR WHAT?
Pass this. It's not worth it your time, tears and emotions.

Disappointed - wish I didn't watch it

So much disappointment in this drama. I've been looking for season 2 for so long, but I wish I didn't watch it. Just a waste of time.
Well season 1 was wayy better. When she was with Sun Oh they were so happy, and their chemistry was so sweet and good. But when she was with Hye Young ,all their parts was always dark. Like she's trying to force herself to love him just bcuz he's good with her. Without the shield she will still be with Sun Oh. Let's be honest. If she truly loved Hye Young, she would've never let Sun Oh kissed her.

Was waiting for 2 years worth it?

The answer is no. I am disappointed. VERY!
Ok, so I rarely write a review but I am fuming.
I was highly anticipating this drama. But no because it was simply messy and confusing. I don't even understand some scenes just because there was no context. I CAN SAY: SEASON 1 WAS BETTER. They really had to follow the webtoon. eh.
Why the ending got to be like that!? IT CRUSHED ME!! Like SUNHO DESERVED BETTER!!! I REALLY DIDN'T WANT KIM JOJO AND HYE YOUNG! Personally, I didn't see the romance between them. They just seemed like they pretended to be happy, they weren't honest and it was not it. Bruh.
The fact that Sun Ho liked her for all those years and kept on chasing her but all she did was turn him down just because 'she didn't like him' and saying that she likes Hye young. Why does she hide her feeling like that? grrr. THAT STUPID SHIELD! I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE CHOSE HYE YOUNG FOR HER SPEAR.
I AM JUST CRYING RN :'( My heart is broken.
Overall, the plot had no flow, it was kinda boring, short, not well developed, and very disappointing.

Super Disappointed

Waited almost two years for the sequel and now that I have seen it, definitely not worth the wait! I had to force myself to keep watching because i was kind of hoping there will be some redeeming factor to it. I honestly think that Jojo made the safe choice with Hye young which is sad because there's really no character progress there. I feel so bad for Sun oh. I guess he's better off without Jojo he deserves so much better. Second season is Meh... will not recommend it. If you haven't seen it and you're rooting for Sun-oh then just stick with Season 1.

is this season even in anyway connected to s1?

speechless at just how bad S2 was. The story did absolutely NOTHING to convince me jojo was in love with hye yeong. Are we supposed to just forget everything that happened in S1 with sunoh ?? On top of that it was totally boring. They could have leaned more into the crime storylines or the slight dystopian future element of love alarm, instead it was 6 episodes of jojo saying no words and people staring at each other. . I am so so disappointed because s1 was one of my fave dramas. what a load of tosh. Even if it ended with jojo and sun oh together,I would still have to stay it was boring.

Messy but pretty to look at

Aesthetically this was different from the first season for sure, but it was still pretty to look at despite the different style, and the sketches were reminiscent of It's Okay to Not Be Okay.

The story was a real mess though, in terms of romance, the traumatic backstory, and the social commentary. It just felt like there was zero continuity with the first season. They completely dropped the ball on Jojo's backstory when it was such a big part of her trauma and decision-making.

Big questions around Love Alarm were about the role of technology in modern romance, privacy, the pressure of being perfect on social media, imposter syndrome, etc. and I had been really excited for it to delve deeper into a society so reliant on it, but they never really did. A lot of characters and plots weren't explained well and everything just felt all over the place.

Instead, the drama focused so much on a love triangle that wasn't really there to begin with, starting this season. The characters had little to no character development and were kind of brushed to the side, with a sprinkle of backstory here or there.

An Unwanted Sequel

233rd Review of Love Alarm 2 tells a lot about how this show has impacted many, mostly disappointment. Lot has been said already; here are my two thoughts.

One, What could have be completed in just two more episodes of season 1 had been dragged out for about 2 years (Even my tastes of kdrama has changed.) and 6 episode (really?) . That's what many kdramas do, adding a time jump and voila, a decent closure. But no, Love alarm, the very un-kdrama-ish kdrama, somehow tries something new: season format. And the result is obvious.

Two, if it weren't for Cheon Duk Goo, I would have totally abandoned this. CDG's closure was a mediocre but it was probably the only decent thing season 2 could offer. As for others, even 5 years time jump doesn't seem to mature these characters. They are still stuck in their sorrows of their own making. But somehow a couple of events make them grow up. Nah, I couldn't buy that.

My cuppa tea

I love it when Kdrama gets rational (aside from the super-advanced technology) and not just emotional. Guess there's a reason why they have it in 2 seasons - to which I like both. Didn't expect to see that much character developments in such short episodes so I was pleasantly surprised. It's probably the ending that I want and the ending that actually makes sense - though some might actually dislike this. I just finished all 6 episodes in one sitting and I'm about to sacrifice sleep and rewatch it to pick up on the details I'm missing.

It was messed up from start

If you think JoJo and sun oh are going to get a happy ending drop it if you don't want to be heart broken

JoJo played with two best friends trempled with both of their feelings.

Sun oh got the worst ending damn man he was the life of this show and they didn't even have him much screentime wasted his four previous years of his life over a girl and ended with nothing

Quite unnecessary

What bothered me about this season wasn't that she ended up with the second lead, but that there was so many unnecessary parts to this season.

There was a murderer for some reason that was used as a vehicle to let Jojo come to terms with her past and her true feelings for Hye-yeong. However, I believe she could have figured it out with there being a murderer inspired by her drawings.

Sun-oh's endgame relationship was not needed as it seemed like they just wanted him to end up with somebody so the viewers would be satisfied but it was rushed and awkward.

The inclusion of Hye-yeong's father being in prison was also unnecessary and didn't add anything to the plot whatsoever.

Overall the only reason for the second season was to find out who Jojo decides was the best option for her which would not have been enough for a whole season so they added in whatever they wanted
