You’ll either love or hate it depending on whose side you’re on
I was on Sunoh’s side so I absolutely hated it. Season 1 made me angry but I really hoped season 2 would make it all better...It didn’t. What a complete disappointment. Out of all the dramas I’ve watched, I’ve only hated a few characters and Kim JoJo is neck and neck with “average” Oh Hae Young for the number two spot, just under the MIL in Something in the Rain.First of all, the entire premise of the show is just dumb. I knew this season 1 but I kept high hopes until the end because I loved the chemistry between JJ and Sunoh. Why does Kim JoJo need an app to tell her how she feels? And why is Hye-young so stupid and have such low self esteem to accept the fact that his girlfriend doesn’t have genuine feelings for him? Who does that?! Regardless of the fact that they ended up together (which was the trajectory, clearly shown from the beginning of the season), I still don’t believe Kim JoJo actually wanted to be with Hye-young. She just made herself like him for whatever reason.
Hye-young vs Sunoh
I am NOT a fan of HY. He’s the typical guy who has a secret crush on a girl but too afraid to speak up. Along comes his ‘friend’, Sunoh, the new, cool guy that everyone likes. He sets his sights on the girl HY already mentally claimed as his and immediately goes after her, as he should have. HY proceeded to feel some type of way because his friend seemed to have won “his girl” and eventually gets the courage to confess his feelings. Eye f’ing ROLL! He should’ve left well enough alone and moved the hell on but no. He decided to be persistent and “nice guy” his way into JoJo’s heart. I’ve never rooted against a second male lead so hard. Which brings me to my next point. I did not like how writers made the second male lead the first in the second season. It did not work and I don’t ever want to see it again unless the 2ML is like Baek In Ho from Cheese in the Trap.
Yuk Jo
I liked her character, especially when she broke up with Sunoh because she knew he wasn’t that into her. She did what Hye-young should have done. But then she tried to get him back. Wth? Sunoh only went back because he had lost JoJo and the audience is supposed to be ok with that?! Yuk Jo is a rebound who deserves better.
Duk go
Ugh. Hated him the first season and hate him still. Glad he got a much better haircut though.
Overall, I did not enjoy this drama at all. My blood was boiling from beginning to end.
Sunoh did not deserve the outcome he got. He was hurt and I felt that. Nothing was explained well or resolved properly and Kim Jojo is a liar. She is a major AH for what she did to him and that is unforgivable.
Trash.

Not what i expected
'Love alarm' season 2 was not what I expected. It was not as good as the first season. I personally liked season 1 better in terms of the story. I actually have mixed feelings abou this drama. I would personally not watch this drama again. As someone else commented, it felt forced. Jojo didn't even conider Sunoh's feelings which is very sad and disappointing.“I stole Sunoh’s smile away from him.. just so I wouldn't feel any pain.” -Jojo
I actually cried almost every episode, but it was probably because I was very emotional lol.
Continue reading if you want to know who Jojo ended up with.
I really wanted Sun Ho and Jojo and upp together, but they didn't. I cried when she told Sunho that she liked his bestfriend. I mean, I waited for almost two years for nothing, literally. I feel really bad for Sunoh and I kind of knew that she would end up with Hye Young, but I still had my hopes. In webtoon, Jojo ended up with Hye Young, but I thought the drama would be different like what they did with "True beauty". Even though everyone got a happy ending, me as a team Sunho wished that they would end up together.
The positive thing was the cast. Both actors and actresses did a very good job, even though it's not their fault for how it ended.
But at least, Jojo and Hye Young got a happy ending...
Remember this is just my opinions!

I'm disappointed (not just about who Kim Jojo picks)
My ship sank, heart broken and hated almost all the characters and their decisions. I'm very disappointed and loved season 1 but it just made me sad. What I really wanted was a Gul-Mi redemption arc but it didn't really happen. Sun Oh deserved better. I now need to watch one of my fav dramas to recover from this heartbreak :( I hope the people who were shipping Hye Yeong and Kim Jojo liked it but I didn't. The only good thing was the acting but I hate Kim Jojo as a character, so selfish. Anyways, I don't personally recommend .Was this review helpful to you?
Angry.
They just waste money making this, sunho deserved way better than the “happy ending” they gave him, jojo was a mess as always, she even couldn’t explain herself to Sunho or the other guy, IT HAD TO BE DOKGU the guy that made love alarm app, who told hyeyong, the truth about Jojo and her app,, like wtf?I waste my time watching this tbh.
It also has very scenes that, to me couldn’t even appear on the drama and it would’ve been the same! The directors had the opportunity to make something really big, the drama of 2021 and they fucke’d up everything.
Waiting for almost 2 years it was another waste of my time.

Still no answer to the shield
looks was not the problem in this show i could careless.... but explain to me in reality who dumps someone with no explanation in the real world and especially someone who fell in love even if he didn't come to you as a gentleman love is love you can't just stop loving someone yet alone without no explanation... they just rushed the ending to give us some what of an expiation about the APP but they forgot to tell us why she put the shield on and brushed it off by showing us that she did not use the app when she was in her new relationship with hye young and the spear was her trying so hard to show that she loves him but still that was her new relationship and her old one with Sun Oh has no answer even after season 2Was this review helpful to you?

"What did I expect from this?" is what I'm asking to this day
To start this off, I don't have any personal grudge against the writers, the cast ( who I love ), or anyone involved in making the show. I wanted to make this review to purge my thoughts because I want to let go of the mess that this show was. This has spoilers so don't read it if you haven't seen the show ( if you haven't I respect that in all honesty ).The plot sounds original, but the so-called love alarm is a device to embed the same clichés found in high school dramas with a submissive female lead bearing a tragic past, who now has two of her classmates fighting over her in a love triangle that is the primary focus of the show - that being, a love triangle that somehow spans over years. This wouldn't be the type of show I normally watch because 1) I respect myself and 2) I knew I'd be in for some intense ship wars. I watched this because of the cast. I am a huge supporter of Kim So Hyun and I discovered Song Kang through this drama so I give the writers that point. But what was this show? I binge-watched season 1 in a day ( back in 2019 ) and there were evident flaws, such as the way the relationships were written. Sudden and poorly developed romantic attraction, backstabbing friends, fights over the main female character for no reason, and mean girls galore. I was a fan of Sun Oh, to be honest, but then I watched other dramas after Love Alarm and I realized, "What the hell was I thinking?". The characters that I once thought were mediocre were now written abysmally as I watched actual good dramas that shifted my perspective and common sense. Sun Oh's actions were selfish to a degree, but also how did he Jojo fall in love to begin with? They kissed once out of him asking her to talk in an alley on the way home from school ( which to be fair, that has happened before in real life, and could very well turn into another Junko Furuta case - may the girl rest in peace ) so why was that romanticized? Aside from the very serious implications, they don't even know each other that well. Moving on, Hye Young was fine, but he didn't act upon his feelings for years. Again, that's fine, but if Jojo were to end up with Hye Young, why make her fall in love with Sun Oh? She broke up with Sun Oh for a dumb reason, and I know the show tried to be realistic with saying that passionate sparks of love don't last... but those were senseless sparks of love. The love triangle was the selling point of the show and it had been dug in deep. Okay, but I did cry my eyes out and feel for the characters. The flaws in the show I dismissed because I believed that Season 2 would resolve all of the loose ends. But did it? No. No it didn't.
Season 2 developed Hye Young and Jojo's relationship more, but did Jojo ever develop? She prioritized herself more, by hurting Sun Oh. Which again, I'm trying to dismiss, but no matter how selfish he was he shouldn't have had to deal with such a messy breakup. Hye Young I didn't hate or love, he was just there. He loves Jojo, but then I thought, what is there to love about her? I genuinely understand her past, but she had minimal character development and whatever "development" she did have it was borderline nonsensical. She hurt the characters through her decisions, which weren't that hard to make. Yook Jo is cute but she and Sun Oh didn't deserve so much heartbreak over one person - which to your surprise, was Jojo. I'm personally relieved that at least there was one decent thing that came out of the show, and it was that it ended. I used to be a huge fan of this drama, but I got so bored in season 2. I look back now and think "what was I on to call this mess good?". The love alarm app that fueled the whole drama was once more, a tacky add-on to a non-original plot with so many clichés that were poorly executed, to where half the show didn't make sense to me. Which, if I may add, the series tried to be progressive by saying that love doesn't depend on technology. Which brings me to say, "then don't make it such a significant plot point/mechanic..." or at least don't bring it into the show at all. This was a typical high school drama with a useless quirk that didn't have any point, and this series gives a bad name to youth dramas, because some of my favorite shows are school dramas. This love triangle was worse than School 2015, good grief. It hurts my brain to go back and think about this show. I'm disappointed that such good actors were put in a burning mess of a drama.
To be honest, I have no hate for the actors. They're the saving point of this, as I discovered my new favorite, Song Kang. Song Kang is the cutest, and I'm excited to watch Navillera with him because he has such range ( after I saw him in Sweet Home ). I could stomach Sun Oh's character ( not really, but I could tolerate it ) because SK gave such a stellar performance. For me, the way he emotionally touched me through his expressions is nice. I'm surprised to say that Song Kang's appearance didn't affect my opinion of him because I thought of that as secondary to his skill. Kim So Hyun is one of my favorite actresses in general, because of her versatility and the amount of comfort I have when just seeing her on screen ( because any drama of hers I watch usually becomes a favorite of mine ). Jung Ga Ram was okay, I didn't see anything particular about his performance that made him memorable but he didn't do so bad. To be fair, Jung Ga Ram and KSH didn't have that much chemistry to me, but that could be because of how much screen time Jojo and Sun Oh had in the first season. Kim Shi Eun ( who plays Yook Jo ) is really adorable though, to unconditionally love Sun Oh. But again, I was searching for something good to come out of the show because I didn't want to call this a waste of my time, so I tried to slap a gold star on the most normal-looking relationship. Also Go Min Si is commendable because I hated Gul Mi so much, so props to her for accurately portraying a terrible character, personality-wise.
I forgot to add in my opinion of the OST. The soundtrack is beautiful, and I listen to some of the songs to this day, mainly “Blooming Story” and “Falling Again”. The OSTs are perfect for what the drama should’ve been, and resonate deeply with me. I don’t know why such well-done songs were put in this drama, as they’re so hauntingly magnificent. I don’t know why I didn’t mention the OST here, but oh my god I have no words, if that makes sense. Love Alarm is basically the Domestic Girlfriend of Korean dramas, as much as I know I shouldn’t compare. This is the one undoubtedly good thing to come out of this drama as even after 2 years I still listen to these songs.
The main point is, do I recommend this to anyone? The friends I have/the people I'd recommend this to have brain cells so no. But if you're the one person who reads this and still wants to watch the show, go ahead ( I know I shouldn't have made a dumb pun/reference to a good drama that didn't deserve to be put into this review about a trashy show I saw ). I think if you're able to have no expectations and go in, regardless of the questionable characters and plot development, frustrating "twists" and the painful love triangle ( not that the outcome was painful, it was how it got to that point ), then go watch it; it may be your new favorite- yeah no I can't compare this to a good drama again because I don't need to drag an innocent show into my venting.
If you're too lazy to read this unintelligible, long review: don't watch it if you have brain cells, if so you'll be in for a ride of how to interpret trash that tries to fool you into thinking it's gold. If you respect yourself, then save yourself from this. I waited 1.5 years for nothing I guess. Oh well I'll bleach my eyes out with Seo Kang Joon or something, that should do the trick.

Beautiful Story about self-love and acceptance...
Okay, I normally do not write reviews, but since this second installment of the series is getting a lot of hate I felt I had to. First, can we just appreciate all of the cast members and production team? They worked really hard on this show and I fell in love with each of the characters. Seriously, they deserve some appreciation for their efforts.Second, as someone who has watched the first season of Love Alarm, I can agree that JoJo broke up with Sun Oh immaturely, but I can understand her reasons. It was JoJo's defense mechanism to protect herself and the ones she loved. Imagine society ridiculing you and judging you just because you survived a traumatic experience. The pressure can be stifling. Can you blame her?! After watching the first season, I immediately knew that the moral of this series was going to be that feelings of love cannot be too dependent on machines and that feelings are complicated, this drama portrayed that beautifully. While I was initially angry at JoJo for using the spear to convey her feelings, it struck me that the spear symbolized autonomy and freedom of choice as long as you take responsibility for your choices. Others may have watched the reveal for the main leads and couples, but I watched it for the deep personal growth of each character. I absolutely loved the character development of JoJo. As someone studying play therapy, it is said that for us to move on as adults, we have to learn how to accept the pain and hurt of our inner child before we can move forward and grow. This scene absolutely had me tearing up. A message that I would like to leave for the young JoJo: "you did so well, it wasn't your fault and accidents happen in life. You are beautiful and deserve to be loved. Always remember that you are enough and worth it." Personally, this is something I have not come to terms with myself. I struggle with certain aspects of my disability and the concept of self-love just as JoJo does. My heart was overwhelmed when I found out Duk-Gu, the founding developer of love alarm was still alive. Thank you for remaining strong and a figure of support for the main characters. Thank you for being alive you are one-of-a-kind and cannot be replaced. I actually enjoyed the central plot twists in this show. The music for this series is astounding and I felt like it matched the scenes quite well. I encourage people to watch season 2 of this drama and they want a show that focuses on character development and growth. As the director said season two will mainly focus on the maturity of the characters and they did not disappoint. I enjoyed watching all of the characters overcome their personal struggles. It was something beautiful to watch and I will not forget it. Personally, I felt it was worth the two-year wait and they ended the series beautifully. Sorry for the long review, but I wanted to show my support for this drama because I cannot believe how much it is being bashed. I tried my best to keep it spoiler-free.
Thank you to everyone who worked on this show your efforts are greatly appreciated.

I am very disappointed
I am very disappointed. It's so unfair why let Sun Oh take the lead in ss1 and push him to second place in ss2. He's like the 3rd person between Jojo and Hye Yonh's story ?? Losing herself and chasing after Jojo and ready to abandon literally everything for anything. He got crushed for 2 seasons so it's not fair .The four characters are very ignorant of their own feelings. It's so frustrating watching this season. I will treat it as if this season never happened
You don't get the point. Hye Yeong deserves it, why? Because they try normal dating ways and don't rely on love alarms (apps). We can say other than Sun Oh deserves it but Yuk Jo is there for him

Worst ending ever imagined
Literally when the trailer released I thought this season would bring smile of sun ohh face again' but instead of that it made him sad ever more, I still don't know why she did such cruel thing with him, she was the most self centred charecter in whole series, I'm not blaming the actress but I'm blaming the story writer because this wasn't the expected ending of the show idk why he wrote bad to sun ohh specially cozz everyone at the end got what they wanted except sun ohh, after watching this I'm even more sadWas this review helpful to you?

I don't like season 2
It shocked me how kim jojo end up with haeyoung instead of sun oh. She loves him, from ep 1, i really see that she just trying to reply his kindness towards her out of pity since she didn't love him yet. So, i think we deserved ending with sun oh. He wait 4 years until knowing abt the shield and breakup lol. If it was me, its going to break my heart too since i didnt know the trut. You should give sun oh time to mend things and show jojo feeling more. People keep saying that how life turns out. Your first love will not who you will end up with. But, this is a drama. We find company in dramas since it didn turn out really well in our life or didn happen at all. Well everyone has their own opinions. But im gonna say season 2 is sucks. Thank you. Have a nice day.Was this review helpful to you?

This drama doesn't deserve your time.
"I was waiting for almost 1½years just to break my own heart, why do I feel that Sun-Oh was never a part of this season. How could they just do that to him, And JoJo just rejected him for no reason and leading a happy life with Hye-young. Wow! Is this a story portraying about how to break someone's heart and be happy. They really played with our emotion or atleast my emotion. They never really knew what this drama meant for me. From the best drama of my life, it has changed to the worst drama I has ever watched. So if someone never watched season 1 then just don't begin with it. This drama doesn't worth your time after all"Was this review helpful to you?
