I came write that just because I've seen so much criticism regarding this series

I almost skipped the whole series because I saw so many people saying that this isn't so good and it repeats the storyline of the first season etc... But then I thought I'd watch it still. And it was worth it, really was. I loved the whole series like I just loved it... Yeah, I have to say that the beginning was just the same old things and everything didn't make sense. But it wasn't bad at all. When just don't think about the first season too much, it was very good and fun to watch (I laughed at Can so many times xD <3). Some people also said that acting was awkward and the chemistry was not bad but "wrong". Actually, I tried to find it but all seemed very smooth and natural for me. I loved Tar's smile (like who has that kind of smile?!?). Can's overthinker and I really felt bad for his own brains xD. And Ae... like WhErE dId Go My InNoCeNt LiTtLe BoY???? He was so fricking handsome that it hurt to watch him. But I couldn't help myself... Also I think I've never seen any series that has so many gay couples. And no, I'm not complaining, not at all! :-D The story line had something weird (only in a good way), because usually when I watch Thai BLs, I can say characters' lines out loud before they're really saying them. And usually I also know what will happen next, but now I was actually quite many times like "wait- what?". I cried, yes, but I laughed so much more. Please, watch it, at least I can say that I loved it!!

What is going on in here on this gay day?

I just wanna know who the hell thought this was a good idea and have their contracts terminated. Can you believe the audacity? This is the the biggest letdown I've had to witness and it is disheartening.

First of all, the timeline chaos. I was so confused watching the first two episodes because we suddenly had a trip to the past, but it felt that we were constantly going back and forth through time. Turns out they decided to completely rewrite Tin and Can's meeting and pretend it was going to make sense right away. Guess what, Susan? It didn't. I find this to be a very confusing and controversial decision. I mean, the writers are pretty much negating half of what happened on season 1 like it wasn't good. But it *was* good.

The story in itself felt pretty shallow to the point I thought I was watching "Yuri!! on Ice" because there was nothing good there. We had good characters with good concepts to work with, but none of it had purpose. There wasn't a clear plot and it lacked organization. For 10 episodes I found myself constantly waiting for something big to happen since they were constantly building up tension for an upcoming moment that never came and I was left blue balled (not in the sexual way, to be clear). It was totally like YOI because we had all these great drama moments between the couples, but everything else was left out.

By the way, who the hell was that support role who got so much unnecessary screen time when he added NOTHING at all to the episode whatsoever? He wasn't even funny like Pond, just a bunch of unnecessary lines that ultimately made us all waste precious time that could've been used to enhance the non-existent plot.

Talking about characters, let's get into some of these because, honestly, the writers played them dirty:

Plan/Mean: These two mofos have been working as a couple for two whole dramas and two specials and I can't believe they STILL have the nerve to act so awkward with each other. I was expecting a little more flavor between them since they already know each other well, but they are just as bland as they were on season 1. Those kisses were so hard to see and I blame Plan for being so stiff, like, dude you're getting paid to play a role you yourself chose to act in, so set yourself loose and act accordingly!!! Mean can't carry the relationship by himself even though he clearly tried. I wanna see the level of confidence and gay energy that Win and Bright had on Still 2gether.

Mark/Gun: I don't even know what were they even doing in this season if the writers barely had any story for them. 90% of their appearances was product placement giving little to no character development for their characters. Not that I'm a big fan of this relationship due to the issue of romanticizing sexual assault, but still, this relationship didn't seem to have a plot to move forward.

Title/Earth: They even got less screen time than the previous ones. I'm a big fan of Earth and I was excited to see more of his work, but I was barely given three super short scenes with him. Sad and upset. The only good thing about their relationship is that they both seemed to be the only ones here who were able to grow as characters and find their own paths. I wish I could have seen more of that development on camera.

Perth: Honestly, I think he was casted on this season for the sake of the fandom because he not only had a terrible script, but also wasn't providing anything to the season. Not like any of these characters were doing it in the first place, but you get me. He just felt like he wasn't part of this. Too bad because Perth is one of the best actors here.

Meen: I can't believe I had to rely on him for a real kiss scene. From episode one, I had a lot of expectations for this character, but he was lacking a good script, unfortunately. His intentions throughout the season felt pointless like he clearly had regrets of the things he had done, but at the same time he wasn't even trying to become a better person. I don't know, he was a very weird antagonist.

All in all, I would have preferred if this season didn't happen rather than having this as it is right now. Honestly, I don't know if there's ever going to be some type of special or season 3, but if they do I hope they get better writers because this left A LOT to wish for and I don't recommend it to anyone.

No Real Growth or Development

This series is also known as “A CHANCE TO LOVE.” (It is all so confusing but apparently it is supposed to be a stand-alone series). This series is just a hot mess for me. Maybe I needed to watch the other series to get the gist of this one but honestly as a stand-alone series, this fell flat. This series tried to do too much, and its screenplay was all over the place with no real sense of direction. I honestly did not understand the relationships or why they were even together. Very few of these characters are relatable or that you honestly care about them. Ironically, the only story that was dealt with in any kind of understanding was between Tul and Gonhin. That would have been a very good story because these actors did show emotion and commitment to their roles and had chemistry. Unfortunately, the rest seemed to be just ‘there’.

Very confusing...

So ... we are used to the stories that in the following seasons repeats situations for the previous seasons. With the years is not a surprise that we spent 3 or 4 episodes (with luck) of 12, watching all over again.

But with this new season of LBC, I'm very confuse indeed... first we begin with events that appear to be the continuation of the first season... but then we go back 3 months early those events to see what...? Ae and Pete are no longer together, Tin and Can who doesn't know each other... Whaat?

Can anyone explain to me, why Tin and Can doesn't know each other while in the first season they meet and share a lot of moments and situations, while Ae and Pete are TOGETHER and appears to have a HAPPILLY EVER AFTER ENDING?...

Most of all, for Christ sake, in this second season, who was the person in-charge of the continuity?... someone that NEVER watched the first season perhaps?.

I'm going to continue watching it... but I agree with the other reviews ... the story is very very confusing (as far the two episodes), and have a total lack of continuty in those (for now).

He wouldn't do it

Pete would never leave Ae. If he went abroad to study, he would still call and messaged Ae every day. The story doesnt make sense and the timelime is all off. Tin and Can were getting to know each other when Pete was in the story.
I think the story needs re writing with the correct time line and with Pete and Ae still together albeit being in different countries.
True fans dont forget storylines. There needs tk be a season 3 with Pete coming back (okay a different actor) but him and Ae getting back together to make it all right
There are a number of things that they could have done. Toom Ae and Pete out (they went away to the same uni), cast a different (lookalike actor), Thailand is not short of actor's and had Ae and Pete as a side couple. And furthermore Petes mum although she didn't 'know'about Ae and Pete she knew and she would never had moved Pete away as she just wanted her son to be loved.
Got to say though, the best scene was at the end and thatsnot me neimg rude. It really was the last scene that had me bawling my eyes out

WANTS TO SIGN A PETITION FOR SEASON 3?

What really annoyed me was the background story of Tin and his brother. I wasn't able to understand why his brother did what he did. And how it was gonna help Tin. It was very confusing.
It was a Tin and Can story so I understand why they didn't want to focus on Pete but I would have really enjoyed it if they did bring back Pete.
Although I liked Can's acting.
Other than that I don't think it deserves more than a 6. And if you are going to watch it then don't keep high expectations from the show.

Disappointed, but it could have been worse

Love By Chance is one of my favorite Thai BL dramas, except for one very cringeworthy scene, so I had high hopes for the second season. I was a bit disappointed, but it could have been worse.

The drama is set in a bizarre world where Ae/Pete and Kengkla/Techno (ugh) happened, but Tin and Can are strangers. And we spend the first six or so episodes essentially doing their plot line from the first season over again with minor variations. The whole thing seemed a bit disjointed and like they tried to wrap everything up at the end, not particularly successfully.

Tin/Can was very cute, and I really enjoyed the Mean/Plan on-screen chemistry. It was somewhat more respectful than the first season. Tin is his very serious, restrained self, and Can is silly and naive.

A lot of the other plot lines are underdeveloped. Ae's plot with Pete overseas lasted throughout the whole season. Although he did exhibit a little growth, it felt like that dragged on and on. There was an ambiguously happy end for him, though.

Tum and Tar had very limited screen time, and Tum apparently ended up with Keen--maybe? They could have done a lot more with this. And Tul and Gonhin leaves so many questions, and was similarly rushed and squeezed into the end. I'm not even sure of the point of these.

Last but not least: Kengkla/Techno. Kengkla feels a little remorse for his transgressions in the previous season, which I guess is good. But it was very cringeworthy when Techno was telling himself that Kengkla is cute. Kengkla keeps creeping on Techno, and then they end up holding hands at the mall and apparently kissing. Instead of redoing Tin/Can, they could have redone Techno/Kengkla and left the rape out! Mark and Gun are cute together, and I think they could have come up with a much better way to get them together, like maybe Kengkla confessing his attraction or even taking care of drunk or injured Techno, to use a common BL trope.

All in all, there was quite a bit mediocre, but Tin/Can made it worth it, and it was nice seeing Perth, Sammy, and Yacht again, not to mention the great OST.

a road to nowhere

**Updated**
I held out as long as I could I swear, but I just could not finish this series. Every time I finished one episode, I just was not looking forward to what would happen next.

As a viewer who had to wait a week for one episode, the episode has to be captivating, should incite curiosity and excitement, and leave us wanting more but all it left me with was a bitter taste.
When it was time for the next episode, I just didn't have the energy to fool myself that I was enjoying the series.
To make it short, the story was boring, the acting was awkward, the dialogues were cringe and lacked any emotions.

Every scene looked like it was improv and the chemistry just fizzled out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for intense scenes or anything but even the kissing scenes were awkward and both the leads looked like they wish they were somewhere else but there. I don't understand?? their chemistry was so good in s1! I don't know what happened. maybe it was due to the lockdown or due to previous issues but I wish they took more time to think this out. I wish they attended more workshops and thought about their characters more.

The BL industry is growing by leaps and bounds. so many noteworthy BLs like tharntype, gameboys, gaya sa pelikula, cherry magic..the list could go on. they need to step up their game.
OVERALL: I would not recommend it. It's just not worth it.

**previous review**
I was excited about the second season. like legit hyped up. I was a TinCan shipper from s1 and the cliffhanger had me on the edge of my seat.
BUT THEN S2 HAPPENED.
My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
Story: Warning: the timeline is different. So yeah, tin and can never meet, Can never knew Pete, Tin never got around to confessing his love and the shower scene never happened. We didn't get to see Can chase after Tin, also SPOILER ALERT: Pete and Ae ain't together anymore. This was necessary considering all those issues during the production of s2 but it's okay I guess since TinCan is the main couple this time.
I honestly think they should have stuck with the first timeline because the chemistry and interactions were so well acted in s1. Just continuing the story would have been so much better. They could have shown us how Tin deals with the rejection, maybe showed Can regretting his decision and there was so much avenue for character development. Instead, we are now stuck with the same storyline with tweaks here and there. The scenes are redundant and I can legit predict the next scene. It is tiring watching the same scenes but in a different lighting
Acting: Despite my dislike towards the story I was still eager to watch TinCan on the scene again. Their chemistry is no doubt there BUT the dialogues are awkward, cringy and delivery is just not what it was in s1. Maybe they want to slowly build up to the climax so I will reserve my judgment for now and hope it gets better as the episodes proceed.
Music: I like the music. BG music is the same as s1 and is fun albeit a little overused. The OSTs are really good.
Rewatch value: I mean it just started so I refrained from rating it too less or too much. I will come back to rate it after the season ends
Overall: if you haven't started it yet then maybe you should wait till it ends to see if it's worth it or not. The recently aired episodes don't give me much hope for the future so I would recommend putting it on hold, especially if you were expecting something of the same caliber as s1 then maybe you should wait.

bad script choices

I thought the choice of the TinCan reboot was awful while everything else moves on. It doesn't make any sense. I hope you at least give AePete a good resolution. Everything seemed to me a sloth by the writers. All of this generates a lot of frustration and takes away the desire to follow the series. If it were to do that it would be better to close with a special. I waited a long time for the second season and it starts like this?
At least the boys' acting, photography, soundtrack compensates for this choice of script in the least weird, not to mention worse things.

The sequel that should not have been.

Wow.. *insert crying emoji* I am so sad and like most of the other reviewers so so disappointed. I’ve only watched the first episode so far and I’m really staring at the ceiling like “what did i just watch?” I AM CONFUSION!! The way this series opens feels like a continuation of season one... and then they drove it straight off of a cliff. What seems like a continuation from the first season in the locker room scene with Tin/Can i guess is actually a flash toward from whatever timeline they invented for this season?! At first, I thought they were going to re-create scenes as a means of a sort of flashback with just Tin/Can (since obviously Saint could not be a part of this season) but i guess they’re going to... redo their whole relationship development??? The only way to watch this and maybe enjoy it is to think of this as a completely different universe and not even just a different timeline. It will be hard because LBC is a CLASSIC and fan favorite. I really can’t recommend this to anyone who’s watched S1. This is painful. I will continue to watch after it’s finished airing because curious and nostalgia, but I have very very low expectations.

Disappointed...

I really feel to leave a review. I've seen the first 2 episodes out now, and I am very disappointed... Yet it is kinda ridiculous....
1st, and most importantly, the main coulpe. Why the hack did anyone decided to retell an oroginally perfectly built story? Now it seems so lame. The characters were so awesomely evolved during the whole season 1, they were my favourite pair. And then YOU WANT US TO FORGET IT ALL? LIKE NOTHING IS EVER HAPPENED? You know, we are disappointed, because we are here to watch this couple BECAUSE WE LOVED THEM SO MUCH. And then you ask us to throw all of it into the trash makes no sense. Though the actors are great as ever, but this must be hard for them too. Bcause there is no time building up the tense, the main turnpoints (like first meet, first kiss) has no effect, bcause we have to get to know a completely new character... Also, knowing the new situation you try to tell us, that Ae and Pete WAS a couple, but Ae's friend and Pete's best fiend have never met before? :D Interesting logic but no. Also, for me, watching the childish Can again etc, is really just boring. Yeah, that was the starter point once, but we have seen them evolving for a whole series, the characters we know are way over that point...
2.) How the story is dealing with P'No x Kla it is ridiculous and still disgusting and woah... I am devastated...
3) There is no sense of how Ae acts with his other friends...
4) is there anything that makes sense now, really?
I have to admit that the actors are whole good, and I see them growing, cheers for them. And owerall it is not bad, but the weird plot just ruins it whole. Whenever I feel ok with it for 5 mins, there is something weird happening that is really out of character... It is a big NO for me... I will watch hoping that TinxCan will be better by time, but I don't believe in it any more. Saint is lucky to stay out of it.

Not what I was expecting

Good to see parts of stories continued but confusing because the original story from season 1 was changed here in season 2. The original story could've remained unchanged, even though they lost Saint as Pete. The changes are annoying but I'm ignoring them to watch how things turn out for Can & Tin. By episode 3, I'll know if I'm sticking around
Likelihood of rewatching this is already low for me despite the cuteness of Can & handsomeness of Tin. Too many changes *sigh* left me feeling disappointed
