This romance made me happy!

I enjoyed this drama a lot. This was one that I smiled most of the way through. The main couple was so cute together and their chemistry (romantic and otherwise) was just wonderful. I loved the height difference between the two and that just made his care and tenderness toward her more marked. If the “we knew each other as kids” trope is used well, I really like it (I’m a sucker for fate/destiny), and it was done very well in this drama.
WRITING: I loved the way the two main characters were written. They were both mature and independent but together they were better, like they were more complete. They weren’t selfish. I appreciated the progression of the relationship, we really got to see everyday conversations that demonstrated why they came to like each other. They never swayed from each other. Arguments have to be used to create tension, and I thought this one was handled well, and resolved quickly. On the surface, it seemed very immature, but when you stop to realize that neither one of them had been in a relationship before, it made sense. Thank you, thank you, thank you for not rushing the ending. I’m probably in the minority, but I didn’t care for the second couple at all. I didn’t see how they could like each other at all – he was completely closed off and she was just a hot mess! I loved Cong Rong’s cousin and he was good for comic relief. I also appreciated that they didn’t bring in a totally evil, conniving person to try to keep the couple apart.
ACTING: I found no fault with any of the actors, but I especially loved Fair Xing (as Cong Rong) and Daddi Tang as (Wen Shao Qing). I was totally on board with them as a couple. Fair Xing had some very cute expressions and eye rolling that added to her likability.
COSTUMING: I loved the way the main couple was dressed. She wore a lot of suits that were tailored beautifully, and he always looked great. However, the way they dressed U Lin Huang (as Chen Chen – 2nd female lead) as very jarring and over-the-top. She looked especially tacky next to everyone else in her torn short shorts and high-top shoes.
SKINSHIP: There are some wonderful kisses in this drama, as well as a lot of hugging. Thankfully, she didn’t have that terrified look that the female has in a lot of dramas when she gets kissed.
REWATCH: I will definitely re-watch this one, but I’ll fast forward through the second couple’s scenes.
This was a drama without a lot of angst and good development of the couple’s relationship. It had a light feel to it and just swept me along with it. I’m so glad I finally broke down and watched this one. I was reluctant, because I didn't care for Put Your Head on My Shoulder. This is one that I will definitely go back and revisit when I get stuck watching shows that don’t have enough romance in them.

My glycemic levels are on the roof now. What a sweet (SO SWEET) drama! I already shared some thoughts about my first impressions, so go for it before reading this: https://mydramalist.com/profile/8270201/feeds/Rz3VkcP This is a spoiler-free review!

As I said before, I like romance a lot, but it's not all the time that I'm in the mood to watch this kind of extreme romance. I think that I was needing detox my mind after so many heavy dramas, so it wasn't a terrible experience. This drama isn't for the kind of people who wants a deep story with realistic problems at all. I turn off my thriller mind and totally embraced the silly stuff here, so if you want to start it, have this in mind.

The main couple it's pretty cute. We have all possible cliches here: meeting in childhood, male lead total devotion, a common female lead that attracts all kinds of powerful men, wealth... It's totally a cliche party. The scenes are exaggerated (really exaggerated), and I laughed a lot in many moments because it was so unbelievable, but as I said, I embraced that and was letting my romantic side bloom. About the performances... Guys, I don't think that the actors were worried about win an award for this. It's a short drama, with an audience that wouldn't seek a masterpiece, but just something cute to spend their time, so it fulfilled its role.

Although I loved the main couple, I have to say that the second couple was the gold for me. I wasn't liking the attitude of Zhou Cheng Cheng (Huang Yi Lin) in the beginning, but after some time I felt that they start to change the fool behavior into something solid about her personality. The same about Wen Rang (Lion Li). His personality was being developed in the process, and these changes made the interaction of these two very interesting. When I realized the predictable formula of the main couple, Cheng Cheng and Rang Rang were my focus.

I give the position of "good one" (★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ) for this drama. It's not a masterpiece, but it's very cute, the scene editions are pretty beautiful, and it's a good drama to make you forget about the bitterness of life and came back to your teenage believing in all kinds of love cliches, LOL.

P.S.: The kisses are a sideshow. The cute couple is not so naive...

Amazing drama, Highly Recommend!

This drama is a very light hearted and fluffy drama. The storyline is easy to follow, which makes it a great drama to watch anytime. Also, being fairly short compared to most I definitely felt like no episode was too dry. The storyline moves at a respectable pace, making it fun to watch. The actors in this drama were perfectly casted and honestly this is one drama that you have to see. The way that the characters develop in the present with a hidden truth about their relationship makes this a beautiful, funny, and light hearted drama to watch.

Finally, Both the main and secondary couples in the drama are so fun to watch.

Slice of life rom-com where life is as smooth as butter

This drama is not at all bad. If you have just finished something intense or serious, this can be used as a palette cleanser. Because this is as far from intense as I am from Mars. Life is smooth for all the characters. They are either successful or on the path to be successful or rich.

This is not necessarily bad. After a hard week, you can unwind with this drama since it does not need you to think. And sometimes that’s all you want to do. You don’t want to think.

The drama needs you to switch off the thinking part of your brain. I didn’t get how they all kept their immaculate appearances after spending 10 hours in surgery or how they managed to go on dates or meet friends during work day. To be fair, they didn’t show that they were work days. . For all I know there could be 250 weekends in that drama land. But since the logical part of my brain was switched off, it didn’t make any difference, I could just roll with it.

The drama has kisses galore. So no lack of skinship but somehow I wasn’t a goner for their chemistry. The ML was too tall for the FL. Similar height difference between the leads did not bother me in “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” with the same FL who was tiny beside the ML. But here I found it a bit jarring. Plus their height difference kept noticeably changing. So anytime they kissed while standing, my brain couldn’t stop counting the boxes the FL had to stand on for that kiss. Not every pair with a huge height difference is cute for me. I feel that the FL casting could have been different. She did an alright job playing her part but something was off. While the ML’s kisses were hot, the FL seemed to just tolerate those. They were not goldfish kisses. But it looked like he was into the kisses while she was not. May be just me?!?!

I also don’t know what’s with the too bright make-up. It was unnatural and unrealistic. Especially on ML who sometimes looked a bit waxy. Also, no idea how the law in China works but I know that paralegals or legal assistants do not call themselves lawyers. Here the FL and people around her sometimes referred her as lawyer. Or may be it was a mistake in the subtitles? Dunno. Weird. The humour was sometimes too forced. The cluelessness of the cousin was funny at first but it was stretched until it became an eye roll. Like dude, you are at least 24-25. You see two people in constant close proximity with each other, staring in each other’s eyes. You see them going to and from each other’s apartments at all hours of the day and you still do not get it?

For me the huge plus point for the drama was that everybody actually acted their ages. There was no fake cutsie behaviour or FL talking in a fake baby voice and tone. That is an instant turn off for me. The SLs were not only annoying pieces of baggage. They had their own story. And for some reason I was tickled by the fact that ML’s uncle got together with FL’s bestie. Like ha.. once they marry, she’d become ML’s aunty and FL’s aunt-in-law.. lol.

Overall I enjoyed watching it. Even with all the flaws, it’s a fluffy romance with no hardships, no betrayals, no separations, no toxic relationship. Who cares if it also has no story? I’d have watched something else if I was after something complex.

loving the 2nd couple

This is a review for the second couple, I seriously love their story so much.

Their dynamic is so cute!!! I liked them since their first meeting & i really like their characters. One is slightly naive, warm hearted and only see the good in others, while the other is cold on the outside but warm on the inside, having a deep secret and a past which he couldn’t get over.

I personally think the plot was very well planned. They initially started out as strangers or neighbours, and interacted because of something. They then become friends over time and he eventually fall for her even without himself knowing. The plot where they had an obstacle, and where he eventually realised his liking for her was very good too!

I really highly recommend people to watch their story!

The casts themselves portrayed these characters very well, and the details they acted out made it even more realistic and touching too!

The OSTs are decent, and I would really rewatch this drama for their scenes!!!

Can’t stop smile during watching

I expect too much because I watch put your hand on my shoulder that female and male lead act. And yes… I am not disappoint.

Plot: The story is not fresh it is same as many Romantic drama comedy as usual but the actor of these story is more charming. Even the story is not excited but it make me feel warm and happy during watch it every ep. This drama proper for who like feel good drama, less of serious and drama scene, reasonable characters and most of kissing scene.

Actors: I feel that Daddi Tan(male lead) and Xing Fei (Fm lead) are good Chemistry both in drama and BTS scene. So, when romantic scene is very smooth and sweet. Not only first couple have good chemistry but 2nd couple also good chemistry as well.

Overall: This is nice romantic comedy drama ! Value to watch it again. It is good for watch after face with bad day or watching serious drama.

This drama is perfection

This one was my first Chinese drama, and it's been a while since I watched it, so my memory is a bit muddled, so I don't remember it perfectly.
However, I do remember how this was such a good watch! Srly, the chemistry between the leads was off the charts. The story it's also really engaging and sweet. Everything about this drama is perfection, I love it to bits and it's seriously a must-watch.
If you are looking for a really nice, light and fun watch, do check this one out, you're not gonna regret it!

here comes the shining knight

This is really endearing and fluffy... Dont bother abt logic much! Everyone is a young successful professional, even hardships are there just to be challenged etc. Coincidences are TOO MUCH: in the big China, what chances are to bump into the same guy at work place, sleeping place, leisure place... over and over again (im saying it for the second couple as well)??
The young actors are totally eye candy and pleasant watch. Still the FL being so short while the ML is so tall looks cringey af. Why do the ML's have to be the tallest in dramas? Is this really what matters? Also the FL is not the best choice out there. The SFL is all abt exposing legs while pretending not to care. Yeah, we are dumb!
The trope of "fate created during childhood" doesnt appeal much to me... But perhaps some other watchers like it!? For god's sake, my life totally moved on, im NOT looking for a sweetheart from kindergarten! I WAS NOT a hero at 9 yrs, does this mean i'm not loveable??
The ML is hot - but dont get carried away, there is little to zero skinship... It's all abt teasing and flirting.
These being said, its totally relaxing and fluffy. Not dropping it (yet).

Surprisingly! Super Drama & Super Cute FL.

My first view of both Leads are from Put Your Head on My Shoulders. I didn't expect to watch this show but one day, it appeared in the Viki List. I started to watch this.

It is completely good! you won't get bored and also the story is well written and seemed not dragging at all. I've seen many CDramas till date and I feel this drama is one of the best Cdramas I watched in romance category. I liked both ML-FL and 2ML-2FL.

It's a perfect mix of emotions - I laughed, cried, pained. it is very simple, no conspiracies and no bad/evil intentions.

Brings a smile on your face

Pros:
-Smart leads
-ml chases fl
-little angst
-no sad parts for long
-misunderstanding are dealt with maturity
-so, so much chemistry that will make you forever ship them together (like Lin Yi from Put Your Head on My Shoulder can not compete at all)
-healthy relationship
-2nd leads do not meddle that much

Cons:
-A little anxiety in the end, but that's common for dramas

Overall:
If you are a bit sad lately or just craving some sugar, watch this and you'll be smiling. Trust me, you will not regret watching!

Put Your Head on My Shoulder 2, the slightly inferior sequel!

I did not think that a Xing Fei + Tang Xiao Tian pairing could work, but this drama proves my preconceptions wrong. Daddi's (Chinese actors and their self chosen English? names, gawd) visuals have been significantly upgraded, perhaps he has gotten a bit more mature too in the past 2 years. Anyway the leads had great chemistry and their romance really delivered.
I always liked fluffy romcoms with weak love triangles and this one is right up my alley. I've been more than sufficiently entertained really.

Comparing this drama with Put Your Head on My Shoulder makes a lot of sense. Not only because of the lead actors' reunion, but also because the plot structure of the two dramas is strikingly similar, or at the very least the way the love triangle situation is handled is almost the same. (One weak triangle in the early episodes and another in the second half, both easily resolved) MLH has two big shortcomings in this comparison. Firstly the setting is much worse, the whole hospital and law firm environment leads to a few minor annoyances, annoyances the other drama did not have. Secondly MLH is 6 episodes longer & in my opinion it's just about 6 episodes too long. There is quite a bit of repetition & artificially stalled progress between episodes 16 & 26. Also the ending episodes were not nearly as good, they weren't bad or anything, but drama faded into boredom a little bit.

The second leads had decent chemistry too, but I found their story somewhat unnatural. Also their conclusion is lacking. So much effort has been spent to explain their backstory in the early episodes, how they wanted to stand on their own feet etc, but ultimately besides them ending up together their story feels somewhat unfinished. What did they end up doing with their lives? Sure they did the store renovation, but then fastforward a few scenes and they are traveling around the world spending the money of their parents!? *shrugs*

I think this drama is the second one I've seen just THIS MONTH, that featured volunteer doctors visiting the site of a major earthquake, the surgery during an aftershock scene is also something both dramas had in common...

---
Overall this is still an above average cdrama in the fluffy romcom category. There are no breakups, no forced separation and all conflicts and the complications are easily resolved, the OTP romance is great too.. 8/10 seems fair, I might even do a rewatch someday.
With that said, if you have not yet seen Put Your Head on My Shoulder, you should start with that drama first.

edit: I did a rewatch. I still enjoyed the first half a lot, but the second half was even more of a letdown than I remembered. (Way too dragged out, annoying second couple relationship and quite a bit of boredom) Adjusting the score to 7,5.
