A drama not to miss!
The drama is definitely underrated given the amazing story and powerful acting.I was looking for dramas to watch when I got absolutely interested after reading the plot summary of the drama. I had high expectations and it definitely exceeded them.
The FL is a strong woman who can do everything to be with her child and protect her. Bearing her own emotional scars she is willing to overcome all difficulties to reunite with he daughter. Loved the mother-daughter story. Absolutely loving and the highlight of the drama. The relationship had its cute and sweet moments along with some bitter revelations.
The romance between the leads was good. I feel it was just right to fit in the story.
Not just the maternal love but we can also enjoy the father-daughter love in the drama.
The drama was full of suspense. The pace of the story was just right. It had plenty of moments that would make you emotional (some happy some sad).
The characters were well written and the actors did an amazing job portraying all emotions. I absolutely loved the acting Lee Yoo Ree. You can feel her pain, anger, and joy. Go Na Hee also did an amazing job.
Definitely worth the watch and rewatch as well!
A fantastic drama and one of my favorites!!!

must watch
Enjoyed watching this drama since the first episode, never got boring to me with no filler episodes. The actors all did an amazing job I didn't cringe once, what sometimes happens to me with some kdramas. They all conveys the emotions really well. Really good story line full of suspense and unpredictable plot twists. Good from start to finish. I do wish we could've. had at least one full episode of the family just living happily after everything got revealed, the last 30minutes felt a little bit rushed. Was this review helpful to you?
Hidden gem!
I finished watching this piece months ago, but just got a time to write a review today.Lie After Lie is a hidden gem. If you're a drama lover and long for a drama speaking about family and love with some touch of action and thriller, this one is for you!
What I love the most about Lie After Lie is the message this drama tries to deliver that in the end, justice will be revealed.
All actors and actresses involved are superb! I still remember clearly it caused me pain to wait a week long for a new episode. I was that crazy about Lie After Lie! Seriously, this one is a must-watch!

The Title Of This Drama Says It All (SHORT REVIEW, SPOILERS)
Here, we have a different kind of family secret drama. The secrets are dark, really darker than usual, in my opinion.
This show was nearly perfect, especially the performances. I was in awe of the child actress’ acting skills.
But one thing irritated me, and it’s the things Ji Eun Su resorted to do to get close to her daughter, rather than telling the truth. She literally endangered everyone, especially her beloved child. I cringed the entire time she conned Kang Ji Min. Real life doesn’t work that way, but I’m not here to lecture anyone. I’m glad that they at least showed through the child, that there were so many lies, that even she didn’t believe half of what the adults around her told her. You could see her confusion and disappointment.
This production was overall really well executed. And as much as I couldn’t stand Kim Ho Ran, her fashion sense was IMPECCABLE, down to the hairstyle, accessories and makeup.
If you’re highly sensitive / an empath, you should know that unless you’re willing to close your eyes a few times since a couple of scenes are quite gory (that’s what I did), you should really pass this one.
Lastly, I’d like to thank the team for the ENDING. I really thought it was going downhill in the last episode. After all, it’s a KOREAN melodrama, and they’re good at telling tragic stories. But it was pretty nice. A beautiful surprise. And for that alone, it was worth watching.

a family-oriented meloromance drama with mysteries
a family-oriented meloromance drama that deserves to be hyped up. note that if you're not into that kind of drama, it's not your cup of tea. it's definitely a good one that it never deserves bad reviews. at first few episodes i kinda find the story boring and i have no idea where this was going to lead me to but here i am, enjoying it more than i expected. i love this drama because i find it amazing how a mother loves and protects her daughter that she would go through all the troubles just to be with the daughter. Lee Yoori potrays that mother character so flawlessly and i can't help but to sympathize with her. it's also Yeon Junghoon's comeback after awhile and he definitely has a thing to pick a good drama! i'm looking forward to see more of him in romance dramas. i really really love that sweet vibe he has that i forgot that he was mostly villain in his previous projects. also i want to talk about the romance between the two leads because it's so warming to me. both have their own scars making them afraid to start a new relationship but they try to trust and rely on another. + shoutout to Kang Woojoo (her real name is Go Hanee) she's such an amazing talent despite her young age and she's also so lovely! i cant wait to see her in more dramas in the future. Was this review helpful to you?
Unexpectedly good
I've had this drama on my list for a while to watch but never got around to it. Every time I read the synopsis I kept thinking I wouldn't like this drama and since it didn't receive the same love that other popular dramas that were released around the same time had it went straight to the bottom of my list. But I was so wrong to leave it there until now! This drama has everything you need from a drama. There was suspense, drama and of course romance! From the very beginning, this storyline had me hooked. It touched on a lot of topics that we don't often see being included in other dramas like adoption, relationship abuse, wrongful conviction and more, which is why I think this had a lot more impact.
Here are just some more reasons as to why I really enjoyed this drama:
1. Stellar acting from all the cast they really helped bring this drama to life. They way they helped the characters develop was amazing and the characters relationships made way for some really heartwarming moments
2. It has great cinematic appeal!
3. There were quite a few twists and turns that I didn't expect coming that really added to the story
4.. Watching Kang Woo Joo (Go Na Hee) and Ji Eun Soo (Lee Yoo Ri)'s relationship blossom was really the highlight of the drama for me and the emotions that they conveyed left me feeling teary-eyed on occasion.
5. I really enjoyed watching Ji Eun Soo (Lee Yoo Ri)'s in particular and the journey this character goes on is really inspiring. Although she was released from prison with a vendetta I enjoyed how the character grew and realised the people who originally put her in prison weren't worth it, which gave us the chance to see glimpses of her finally enjoying her life.
If it's not on your list to watch I would highly recommend giving it a go!

Great Show but..
Don’t watch this if you like closure after having watched a drama.Lie after Lie started off with a bang. From the first episode, i was immersed in the story and couldn’t wait to see what was next. The show continued like this for a while and fell off a little later. It was a good story but story cannot be considered great if the ending isn’t as well. If the show had wrapped up the story well, I would have had no complaints.
From the first episode, they established the villain and throughout the drama, we all hate her and are outraged at her behavior and cavalier treatment of human lives. The wrote the character well and the actress portrayed her even better but her fall was the most lackluster thing i have ever witnessed in television ending. She didnt put up much of a fight and it all wrapped up too smoothly-it made no sense.
The worst part was her motivation behind her actions. The amount of hate that she had for the female lead and the way she worked tirelessly to make sure the FL lived a life filled with suffering and misery, i expected her to have a relatively valid reason in the end. I couldn’t help but ask, in every episode, “why’?. Why does she hate her so much? What did she do to her? At first, i thought, maybe she’s under the assumption that the FL truly killed her son-if so, i could understand her wanting her to suffer. But that didnt make sense either because her behavior during and after the trial was not that of someone grieving their child and wanting the murderer to suffer but of someone wanting to make sure a certain person suffers for the crime regardless. So i thought, maybe she genuinely believes the FL killed him and she’s just blinded by that belief and refusing to see other possibilities and with this mindset, I expected that after the reveal, she was going to feel remorseful and apologize or repent or whatever. But that belief, was also false.
Then I thought, maybe she did kill her own son, but in that case, her contempt for the FL makes absolutely no sense. If she killed her son and pinned it on the FL to get away with it, the FL already served 10 years in prison for a crime she didnt commit- why didnt the villain leave it there? Why go as far as to have her followed, and try to ruin her life repeatedly? It made no sense.
So i decided to stop guessing at her motivations and wait for the reveal at the end. Towards the end, when it seemed like everything was wrapping up, they still hadn’t revealed her motives so i began speculating again. I thought, it might be ridiculous but it would offer some reasoning behind her actions if the FL was secretly the villains child and she hated her because she got to live without having suffered abuse or something idk. Or she wanted her to suffer and be broken because she didnt want her daughter to inherit everything. This was not the case in the end.
They finally revealed her “motivations” in the end and it was the most anticlimactic thing i had ever heard in my life. That is not reason enough to have killed so many people and cause so much pain. That is not reason enough for sane person to try and murder and baby. It did not fit with her actions or the emotions that the villain had been portraying throughout the drama. This woman was wrought with hatred and you want me to believe that this minuscule, this little thing was what caused it? The ending ruined the show.
Also the ML’s sister should have faced consequences for a lot of her actions and it upset me that she never did. I know she’s supposed to be quirky but she is also an adult who has been entrusted with the safety of a minor and as such, she should have behaved accordingly. Not to mention the lack of respect that her actions showed towards her brother. I feel this character was unnecessary and her never getting reprimanded for the things she did, did not sit right with me.
I loooved the second male lead. I don’t normally get “second male lead syndrome” because i believe that no body is entitled to another person’s love simply because they love them or they’ve done good things for them. In fact, I typically tend to dislike a lot of SML, especially if they do not reconcile their feelings early and become a pitiful, annoying, clingy person but this SML understood that despite his feelings for her, she has feelings for another person and if he truly loved her, he would not try to ruin her happiness for a chance at his own. So he chose to love and support her as a brother and i really appreciated that.
This was a good but incredibly flawed drama. I would recommend it, despite my displeasure at the ending because the familiar relationship that were established. The love between the father and daughter, mother and daughter, mother daughter and father, brother and sister(although they do not share blood). It’s not an entirely romantical drama but it showcases other aspects of life and love that I appreciated.

Fast paced, doesn't drag
I enjoyed this show because it kept moving forward. The show focused on the main story. Male second lead was a breath of fresh air. Flash backs were brief and to the point. If anything, I wish we would have seen a little bit more of the FL's married life. I didn't have a good sense of what her relationship with her mother-in-law was like prior to the death of her husband. I can't say I 100% buy all the emotional responses of the characters, but it wasn't over-the-top enough to bother me. Romance was low-key and sweet. Overall, a solid watch. Was this review helpful to you?
the cast did great job specially the actress even though her voice was so childish but every time she cries god i get so emotional.
the final episode was great.
its so weird why did the mother hate eun sou I'm not so convinced with the reason it was so weak.
i really hated the way Jung Hoon mother treated his ex wife she was so mean.
Ho Ran played the villain role so well i wanted to punish her in the face.
after all it was one of the best 2020 drama's

Frustrating but good
This show man was frustrating at times but soo good.. was getting tired of the sick daughter plot but in the end, it became one of the key points and it became a tearjerker in the end. Man, I am so glad that mother-in-law got what she deserves and everyone's speculations were correct the bodyguard this whole time was her older son and only son. The son that was married to Eun Su was her adopted son and she didn't want that to be found out in the end. In the end, the truth came out Won Joo found out her mom was Eun Su, she even already knew she was adopted but didn't want to say anything. The ending was so beautiful and pure. Was this review helpful to you?

Anticlimactic ending
After watching Flower of Evil, I was ready to start another thriller/romance K-drama.The premise of this story was actually very promising. Admittedly, I cried several times because of the hardships the FL experienced.
With regards to the casting, for me, didn't feel that there was much chemistry between the two leads. When they fell in love and were about to get married, I found the timeline for this too rushed. The FL also didn't feel like she was actually in love with the guy. Even during that part, I felt that she was still using him to be near her daughter.
The mother-in-law's acting was great. The fact that she looked exactly like my ex-boss made me hate her even more LOL.
The golfer's character was something that the story could have done without. Not much substance
Anyway, the ending was a bit of a big D-U-H ??? for me. It was as if the pressure had been building up to burst and then POOF.... it fell flat. The motives, the unanswered question as to why the mother in law had a secret son, why the need for a fake son.... these were questions that were left unanswered.
