The game is afoot!

Aside from the previous episodes of the Season, this one actually cuts the cake! This takes us to a lot of interesting highlights which I expect would lead us to a juicier ending of the Season. Firstly, we see the perfection of how the story draws us in instantly when it starts with a live broadcast of a hostage situation that calls out the detective team to find the location of where it's happening. The thrill is there since we know it's something big that's about to happen. And then the detective team's received package holds the clue to a 10-year old case that also contains hints that the mysterious persona left for them to figure out the location. Second is how the mysterious persona is leaving them clues. Now unlike most episodes this creates more thrill since the episode is set up with a timer, which is a good tactic if you want your audience to immerse themselves in the urgency of the situation. Another point that I got, as I watched the episode, was the desperation of the mysterious persona once they kept sending the detective team videos of hurrying them up, which implies that the whole thing was a set-up from the get-go, so I had it in mind. The third highlight was something I wasn't prepared for at all. Once the detective team did find the location and discovered the identity of the mysterious persona, the story actually doesn't end with a form of homicide this time. Which is quite refreshing by the way! The fourth and most important highlight is the outsourcing technique the detective team used as they solved the clues left by the mysterious persona in the live broadcast. They came across a website called 'The Liar' which is a site where the detective team receives the videos the mystery individual is sending them, and they can communicate with a lot of people online to help them get to their goal - finding the location of the hostage situation in the live broadcast. This is a good representation of how much good the internet can contribute aside from just the bad. There are a couple of reasons that influenced me to stamp the high rating to 10. First is the detective team putting their intelligence and skill to their fullest potential, also Min-Young, Sehun and Sejeong, definitely were the shining stars in this episode so kudos to the studio for this! Second is we finally got confirmed (well, me anyways) that there is indeed an organization behind the subsequent cases that our detective team has handled since the first episode. And this brings us into deeper waters with Project D since the first time we were mentioned about a list of potential criminals in the year 2020 was from a flashdrive that Kwangsoo stole to give it to a high bidder/someone who basically lured Kwangsoo with money back in Season 2 XD. And you guys can see that list coming into completion as each profile of the culprit arrested, captured, and identified by the detective team throughout episode 1 until here, is stamped and placed on each box nearing the end of the episode, where we also see this organization's symbol - the weighing scale that symbolizes justice. Which in a way is kinda what the organization is aiming for since they're punishing these criminals themselves, albeit in less acceptable methods.

networking!

I thought it was so cool that they didn’t solve it 100% on their own and counted on the help of anonymous and random people on the Internet, cool but dangerous since the kidnapper would be watching everything. I knew that was the journalist as soon as she entered, and I also suspected that she was one of the suspects for organ trafficking in the other episode, because of the high heels. The end of the episode made me curious, it would be a crazy plotwist if suddenly Min Young was one of their enemies, "don't trust Cassandra". Despite the interesting episode, I discounted one point because I think the other episode had already been enough of a distraction, in this one they managed to put the story on but it could still have been 1 hour with more information.

Two Stars

Sadly, the more I watch this show, the more I get the feeling that they are running out of ideas and just take whatever has worked in other shows to fluff their own production. It's okay to watch but hardly something new
