A Great Chinese Restaurant (1999)

A young man, Yang Han Kook, arrives at the struggling Peking Ban Jeum, a Chinese restaurant once promised to be great by the late Han's childhood friend. Inspired by his father's legacy and Han's dream, Han Kook takes up the challenge. After discovering that the head cook uses caramel and chemical seasoning in the Chinese soybean sauce, Han is devastated and decides to shut the restaurant. Han's daughter, Mi Rae, also feels defeated, but Han Kook remains determined.
