Best LGBTQ+ asian show i've ever seen
I’m honestly surprised that Thailand could produce such a quality show. after watching few episodes of tharntype I thought they were stucked in the mid-2000 when consent, forcing partners and so on weren’t considered a big issue in a relationship.I told sunset about you however went beyond my expectations not only in terms of production which is quite high compared to the two thai drama i’ve watched but in terms of attention to the LGBTQ+ community and realism. It’s a show i would recommend to watch during the pride month at festivals and i honestly think it should be on Netflix to showto westerners productions how to portray a believable coming out of a teenager.
As a person who struggled with coming out myself I could relate to Teh and his fears i felt like i was watching my younger self, i could see my own mistakes portrayed on the screen. The screenwriters did really a good job writing Teh. He’s an annoying character but believable and strongly real.
Ohaew on the other hand was disappointing. Not in terms of PPs acting but the character itself. He’s much more aware of his identity and still behave like sh*t towards Bas. You don’t deserve that little cutie pie.
As an art student I also enjoyed every single shot of this show, the colors, the framing… it’s absolute perfection and by far one of the most pleasant asian series i’ve watched.
I’m glad Thailand is capable of showing how to proper portray LGBTQ+ struggles in a believable and delicate way.

Piece of art
I started it cause i heard it has beautiful cinematography. This is just a PART of this art.At the beginning i though that this will be just a simple/light story with happy end and thats all
OF COUSRE I WAS WRONG.
1)THE ACTING: they have TALENT and nobody can disagree !!!
2)THE OST: soo beautiful
3) THE MESSENGS & THE TOPICS {like friendship, forgivness, love} that are including in the story
4)THE PLACES piece of art
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?????
I lived every second/scene, they transmit every feeling!!!!!!!
Even the moments with silence or the moments that were supposed to be awkward were beautifuls !!!
I am not the type of person who pay too much attention if there is chemisrty between the main couple, BUT i can say that there chemisrty was very strong.
YOU SHOULD WATCH IT NOW and
~Even tho it was only 5 episodes, it won a place of my heart~

Perhaps the best Thai BL series to have been realased in 2020
What this series does so well is tell a cohesive and satisfying story. With only five episodes, this will appear to be a quick watch, but I assure you that what this series accomplishes in five episodes is a masterpiece of cinematography that we rarely get to see. An awesome cast, a moving score, wonderful writing, and compelling themes, this series follows our protagonists through their fears, hopes, loves, and dreams. A genuinely sweet coming of age story, we find ourselves rooting for everyone as the story unfolds and we cannot help but come of age ourselves. Was this review helpful to you?
If I had to sum up this series in one word : beautiful.
It's the story of Teh and Oh-aew who were best friends as kids but after a childish argument, they did what a lot of kids do, they didn't talk to each other anymore. And yet, they never forgot each other.
Years later as they're preparing for university admissions, both pursuing interests in the field of Communication Arts, the two meet again in a Chinese language class, and their reunion as a young adult awakens complicated feelings.
It's really a youthful story of coming of age and the discovery of first love.
I would like to say that the production is stunning, in Asia we could compare this kind of production with that of Korea, but coming from Europe, I must say that this production reminds me of the French independent films which are shown at the Cannes festivals.
This series is short but it feels raw, real and vulnerable.
The tones give off the vibes of 90s films, the sets are far from being so polished as you see in the usual BL Thai series, where you have the impression of being in a model house, but here you really feel that it's filmed in Thailand. We see the streets, the restaurants, the temples, the beaches, the schools, it really feels real and it contributes to the vibes of the series which tells a touching and beautiful story.
As for the story itself, I have to say that I'm amazed, the story is simple, the plot is simple but the acting really changes everything, it makes this banal script become a masterpiece.
And I am weighing my words, this series is in my top 3 of the best BL Thai series.
The characters are just so realistic. They are young, sometimes a little stupid, but vulnerable, they have a good heart and their own challenges.
By discovering their mutual feelings for each other, they also realize that they have feelings for a person of the same sex, they have to come to term with this fact, with their family and the gaze of others.
And it's hard, at any age, in addition to discovering themselves and another person, they have to expect judgments, disappointments.
If you want toxic relationships, ridiculous dramas, just move on, this story is to tell a beautiful story, and it's more about introspection and growing up.
I won't say more, everyone can have their own personal tastes, but to me it's a masterpiece and game changer in the BL genre.
It's really to see.

Absolute Perfection
There was no flaw to this show. Everything was perfect; from the acting to the OSTs to the production. It was just breath taking. The cinematography was top tier, as well as how the storyline was portrayed. Few lines but more emotions; this was the essence of ITSAY that I believed many people liked. The push and pull dynamic between Teh and Oh Aew, wanting it but pulling back. That tension drew people who wanted to see them flourish into a couple in. It is the perfect LGBT coming of age representation that not many BLs can portray.
The cast choice is also amazing and I'm so glad that Nadao decided to have BKPP as their next couple. Their chemistry build up because of years of friendship really allowed them to grow and display it through the series. It is just beyond words. Nat (played Hoon) really portrayed the older brother character really well. Kind of reminded me of my brother but is more nice. Khunpol was another cast member that caught my attention. I loved the way he portrays Bas' emotions so well. Just amazing.
Music: OSTs are SO GOOD. I could listen to it on repeat 365 days (currently still having it on repeat). Music in each scene also played a huge role in giving essence to the show, and the team really did a great job in music selection.
Rewatch value: definitely a whole 10 because it is just that good! I've already rewatched it once and gosh I still felt the same way I did the first time I watched it. Good times.

Story of love being told in the best way
This series is one of the best asian romance series out there. In just 5 episode, they showed the journey of love in the most perfect way! Everything was in its right place; the tension and desire between the two main roles was shown perfectly. the whole crew pulled it off pretty well.
To know what Teh and Oh are feeling at moment, you don't need words to be spoken. Teh's lingering and desire for Oh was shown through actions and expressions. His very depth of feelings could be seen in his eyes and they both deserve a standing ovation for their outstanding performances.
This series's atmosphere reminded me of " Call Me By Your Name", specially the symbols. and those symbols were actually the things that made the it more realistic. like how you can read someone's mind by their body language and expression.
the quality of this production leaves you fascinated and astonished. It doesn't follow a brand-new story and it's about high-school students but the meaning and the whole plot is on another level.
The one thing I liked about this series was that it mainly focused on each individual emotions and feelings rather than anything on the outside world.
how they found love and feeling towards each other and how they came to accept them.
Cinematography
The moments between Oh-aew and Teh were mostly simple but I believe their acting skills, camerawork and editing did magic and made me feel like I was actually feeling the moments and sent shiver down my spine.
As it's shown in my ratings, I think all the acting crew did a very good job, every each one of them.
their worked well with their facial expressions and body and I hope we could see them in more roles and appreciate their performances.
overall, I think after this series, it's pretty hard for me to find any other love series interesting.

A rollercoaster ride of love!
A MUST WATCH !!!!! This is not your average BL! I started watching thinking this is just another BL. Boy was I wrong! I was not prepared for what was about to hit me.Tbh, this is my first time writing a review about any show/movie. So, sorry if this review not very helpful. I just love this drama so freaking much, I had to just announce it!!
This series is a piece of art !! A masterpiece !! It captures the essence of the characters so well! All the characters are so beautifully written with complex personalities! Oh and the visuals! The cinematography! I don't have words to explain how much I loved the cinematography of this series !! Every scene was shot to perfection! The OST blending with each scene, evoking the intended emotions with maximum efficiency! I can not wait for next season: I Promised You the Moon (2021).
I guess I'll just have to keep re-watching ITSAY till then. XD
The story progresses ever so slowly and will take you on a rollercoaster ride! So, fasten your seatbelts, get the tissue box ready and watch this series with no distractions!

gorgeous, i'm dazed
i've never seen a thai production anything quite like this. it's so good in so many ways, idk where to start. it's simply my favorite thai drama & one of the most favorite drama from any country at all.billkin & pp portrayed their characters so so well.. (tho it took me a rewatch to like billkin's acting better).
would love to watch pp again in some other drama.
um, currently i'm lost in oh-aew.
the first half of the series, i laughed a lot. the second half i cried. oh-aew is so beautiful, it was breaking my heart every time he got sad..
and, okay, it's official, music of any production can do inexplicable things to me kkkk.
i might come back and add more thoughts.
currently rewatching for the 4th time ?
a must watch series. 10/10 for me. i'm just being critical and giving it a 9.5 for now.

Heart-wrenching
Word for the drama: Beautiful. This was beautiful. So raw. So natural.
The first thing I noticed is the OST. The Skyline? I immediately looked it up on Spotify and downloaded both Thai and Chinese version. Also, the title is beautiful. I always appreciate titles like these.
Second, the acting of the MC and ML were topnotch. It's so natural, as if it's real. At first, I got the same feeling of Your Name Engraved Herein. I really did not believe this was a series. I think it's not your mainstream BL series.
Third, it's realistic. Being confused in life, especially when entering college. It's the stage in life where all sorts of thoughts and emotions enter your mind.
This drama is one in a million. If you're expecting fluffy moments then this is not it. This is genuinely real-life experience.

Still A Masterpiece
I remember finding this series because I stumbled upon it whilst searching for dramas to watch. I went into it completely blind without knowing anything about the plot, and when it was over it became my favorite BL. 2 years later it’s still at the top of my list, even though a lot of good BLs have come out since then, so I decided to rate every section and explain my reasoning.Story (10/10): In my opinion, the story was beautiful. It’s the best friends to rivals to lovers cliche but it’s done in such an emotional way that it feels different to everything else i’ve seen. If you don’t get into the story, then it might appear as boring at times and some of the scenes might look like they don’t have meaning, but everything is connected and every small detail gives insight into the main character’s mindset. If you pay attention, you’ll realize that every scene matters and things you might not understand start to come together.
Acting/Cast (10/10): The acting is great. The main character (Teh) has many flaws and I feel like his confusion throughout the story is portrayed very well. The entire point of his character is that he’s not perfect, and he’s a realistic portrayal of someone who’s having a lot of doubts and experiencing things he’s never felt before. Even though we, the audience, might feel anger because of his actions, and some people even dislike him, you have to put yourself in his mindset and realize that the reason he’s such a complicated character is because of everything he’s going through. Oh aew, the second lead, was also perfectly casted and you feel all the emotions the actor portrays. PP is an amazing actor and nobody else could’ve done such a good job. Finally, the chemistry between both leads is still the best I have seen in any BL up to date.
Music (10/10): The music really set the mood in every scene. It made sad scenes feel even more emotional and evoked uneasiness in the more tense scenes. Basically, the series wouldn’t be the same without it.
Rewatch Value (10/10): I have rewatched this series multiple times and although it’ll never be the same as watching it for the first time, it still makes me emotional and cry at a few of the scenes.
Overall (10/10): Overall, I would say this show is a masterpiece. I find it difficulty to find any flaw with it. The characters, whether you like them or not, were made to be exactly how they seem and makes the whole story more realistic. The story, which i’ve seen some say is boring, is done very well in my opinion and is not boring at all if you understand the importance of every scene.

Beautifully intense
I found out that this drama exists because of a list of enemies-to-lovers BL recommendations, and went to dig up the episodes out of curiosity despite not being a huge fan of the trope.Turns out, this is a beautiful coming of age story. The acting is perfect and the OST never felt out of place; if anything, it made every scene better. The camera work was also quite interesting to see, making the whole series a delight for the eyes.
I gave it a low rewatch value for two reasons: the first one is that the pacing of the story is quite slow, which means that while it might make every emotion more intense and tangible along the way, it can also get very frustrating if you already know what comes next. The second reason is more personal: there's a lot of pain and tears in this story, and while conflict is necessary for an interesting plot, it's not my cup of tea, so I might be hesitant to pick this series up again in the future unless I forgot what happens in the story.
Overall, I strongly recommend watching this series. It raises the bar for all the BL dramas out there, and I hope that it will motivate the industry to put more effort and artistry in their BL works in the future.

Really Interesting!
I have mixed feelings towards this drama.First, I love how short it was. The director was able to explain every aspect of it in just 5 episodes. I don't feel like there are nay gaps that need to be filled.
Second, I love how the main leads were able to express their emotions. These are young high school kids with so much passion and exploring love and feelings for the first time. In between they made so many mistakes but eventually there was a happy ending.
It's interesting to see Teh was not sure what he was feeling but he knew he wanted to spend as much time as possible with Oh-aew and got really jealous when he would hang out with his friends without him. And the fact that he always leaned on tutoring as a way to spend time with him is sooo cute. I just wish he would have been given more room to explain what he was feeling and why he was rejecting his feelings towards Oh-aew. (I mean, the society and our thinking sometimes really everything up!)
Oh-aew would have been more understanding as well and not be quick to label what they were. (My opinion)
I feel bad for Bas. He's genuine but eventually it would not have worked out.
Teh's brother, on the other hand, Hoon, is an angel sent from above. In such cases, where you develop feelings for the same gender, you need someone from your family supporting you. Even if it's one person, that's enough.
