Animal welfare guidelines
"Mom Has an Affair" has a good story line, however, it lacks on-screen chemistry between the male leading actor and the female leading actress that portray Kang Seok Jun (actor Lee Jae-Hwang ) and Oh Pil Jung (actress Hyun Jyu-Ni). There is no intense eye-contact between these two leading characters. The sweet on-screen chemistry develops between the second leading characters, Oh Sun Jung (actress Nam I-An) and Lee Tae Woo (actor Seo Hyun-Suk), they steal and save the show. Also, the tender heart character Chief Surgeon Choi Dong-Seok (actor Kim Dong-Gyun) helps catalyzing the story line when it is needed. It is heart wrenching to watch Leon/Jumbak, the pet dog looks so lethargic for the whole 122 episodes. I just hope the “humane” Animal welfare guidelines are followed by the studio that produced "Mom Has an Affair". Leon becomes a lifeless ornament in the show, it is distressing to watch.

I'm not sure if I had a favorite character -- but I really liked Choi Dong Seok (the doctor) and his uprightness that was never swayed by personal desire. I enjoyed watching Oh Sun Jung (Pil Jung's sister) and Lee Tae Woo (Eun Joo's brother) relationship evolve - they were super cute together. And last but definitely not least -- Kang Seok Hwan ( the bad brother). He did a great job acting a bit aloof and as a mama's boy and I couldn't help but notice what great facial expressions he had in some of the scenes -- It'd be nice to watch another show with him.
I don't normally re-watch 100 plus episodes but could see myself watching this one again sometime down the line.

Similar to Personal Taste
A man and a woman's life becomes intertwined through a series of crazy events and they develop a hatred (they don't hate each other they just get annoyed by each other a lot) then he moves in with her family under a false identity to hide that he is a chaebol who is being forced by his family (mainly his evil stepmother + stepbrother) to gain their own advantages and take over the fathers company. Overall if Personal Taste was a day drama, it would be this but with more plot-twists. Some characters can be very annoying, however, it's mainly just the antagonist characters as usual so you can just learn to ignore their childish and cruel ways. Also just like any day drama, there is birth secrets, cheating, lies, manipulation and many other cliche tropes but in a way it's still very refreshing and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. Was this review helpful to you?
Nope...
Well, to sum it up.... it's bad! It's one of those cheep tv-novels with no care or budget. It you look at some corners on the set you'll see it falling apart. They even use digital zoom and cropping instead of optical zoom in 2020!! If you were to use ChatGPT to generate a kdrama script it would totally crush this drama. BTW, it's called "Mom Has an Affair" but no affair to be seen anywhere! Was this review helpful to you?
Show takes too long to solve its mysteries, spinning in circles for 60% of the entire drama
This show had some stereotypical plotlines (birth secrets, struggling main characters, rich main character, infighting between family, mean MIL) but the premise was interesting. The show set up an interesting plotline of these characters intersecting but it just never went anywhere. They solved each mystery every 35-40 episodes. Which for the length is like watching one season of a kdrama for a simple plot. So the show spins in circles. Episodes 50-95 could honestly be condensed into 10 episodes. The show took too long to be satisfying and it ended up being that the main characters just suffered for too long. Wouldn't recommend compared to other family dramas.
