This series conveys an important message about the true value of individuality and self identity as it applies to love in a beautiful way. The most beautiful part, in my view, is that there are clear and realistic struggles so it really helps make this story more relatable. I am not someone who cries during shows or movies (which normally gets me scolded by friends when we watch sad movies haha) but the raw emotion and pain that the actors were able to deliver made my eyes water. I truly recommend this series to everyone whether they usually like boys love series & movies or not does not matter.Was this review helpful to you?
Honestly, Japanese are the least county that I want to see abour ther movies or series. Except somebody give me a hundred reasons to watch them. But every time I watch japanese movies or series none of them are bad. So I think this could be my way back to love their cinematic.
In my experience, I would agree some of the points from the series especially from Itou’s perceptions. It feels like, I’ve been there long time ago with my very first “love”. Actually, one of my friend said like Itou did.
Now I need more series for another distractions ?

Both the drama and manga broke me.
Story: Yuki and Akira go to different schools but they often bump into each other as they both like to childishly walk on the white lane lines separating pedestrians from the moving traffic. Not willing to step out of the line, they would both hug and move the other to the opposite side so that they can continue walking on the lines to wherever they were heading to. Doing this for years, they became close friends. Akira ended up falling head over heels for Yuki, and throughout their entire time together , Yuki reciprocated. The drama shows how Yuki and Akira, went through struggles in life together, from going to University, to looking for jobs vs chasing their dreams. Akira was always the more practical one. Grow up, go to Uni, get a job, live a normal life. While Yuki has always been nonchalant, expressive, thoughtful and very caring towards Akira's conflicts. After 8 years of being together, all the happiness and comfort started brewing storms within Akira making him question his goals in life, whether or not being in a homosexual relationship would actually bring any fulfilment to him. Although the break up was tormenting for the viewers , it was a turning point for Akira to start realizing what a douchebag he has been , and he even came out to his family while desperately trying to look for Yuki , who disappeared after the break up. I read the novel after I finished the drama and they did grow old together until they both died of old age. I was emotionally gripped. Whether or not you are gay, or whether or not you can relate to the struggles in the LGBT community, the height of bittersweet emotions in this cinematic masterpiece would still grip you to your seat, making you question everything you know about life itself.Acting: The acting is on point. I felt the pain, the happiness, the bliss, the love. I felt Akira's infatuation with Yuki, Yuki's respect and never ending love for Akira and Akira's struggle with trying to be normal. They picked the right people for the roles , the right music, the right visuals and no scene was a waste of space.
Overall: Although the show was fairly short, it did not need to be long as it captured everything we needed. This covered more depths than a 30 episode drama ever would. Not to mention Wayne Song and Huang Juan Zhi even made an appearance at the end, giving us History3:MODC fans a reason to celebrate XiangHaoTing and YuShiGu's love all over again. This is hands down the best BL I have ever watched.

Emotional storylines
I love this drama soo freaking bad! The storylines very smooth, n there's one vibes that give me warm pleasure. I don't know that one line will change our lives. They had such a cute imagination that makes me giggle everytime they talk about it. But I'm crying badly when Akira wanted to have a "normal" life. Yuki must have a hard time. anyway, I'm so happy to watch this and definitely will watch this again!!I know my rating is kinda over. But, this drama really related to our lives *not at the line part.hehe* when we wanted to be the one that we loves but our society doesn't let us. It is so hard. So we should make it private and end up hurting ourselves. I hope there's drama like this published. But if there's part 2 or something I'll definitely support it!! Enjoy watching everyone

Rational and Irrational Decisions. Character Development and Missing Information
This show gave me a strange feeling. It started out cute and sweet. Towards the middle, we started to see the cruelty of the real world.A typical emotional, intense Japanese style drama.
Of course I liked the ending, but my instincts kept screaming that this couldn't happen in real life.
As logical as Itou's desire to leave Nishi and establish a normal life, it was just as illogical for him to defy his family and be forgiven.
When I looked at Nishi's character, no matter how emotional he was, he was generally a positive and full of life. Someone who can live his pain to the end and recover himself after a while. It's hard to believe that he hasn't gotten over Itou for years.
Of course, since the series was very short, we needed more information about Nishi's character. If they are predisposed to a dependent personality and haven't overcome it because of that, I understand, but they needed to show me that.
If this had been a longer series, something tells me I wouldn't have liked Itou. He seems like he could be someone who gets repulsive the more you get to know him.
He was cute and sweet again. I'm happy I watched it.

A story about making choices that will ultimately decide our happiness
From the very beginning, I was awed by the quality of the production. I couldn't help but compare to the trashy BL shows I have watched just to satisfy my guilty pleasure. This was clearly a show that tells us that the choices we make will determine our future...and our happiness. This show got me thinking of all the choices I have made so far that got me to where I am now...and evaluate if I am making the right choices at the moment. Sometimes, we are so caught up in becoming the kind of person the society wants us to be...that our parents, friends, and everyone around us expects us to be that we forget what living truly feels like. I was deeply moved by the message the show tried to convey. And I am somehow empowered by it.As for other things, like Akira and Yuki, I have some grievances. Yuki was a darling. He was never afraid of his feelings and communicated what he wanted and that's a strong character. He loved Akira to his bones, so when Akira betrayed his love, I was heartbroken and angry for him. My thoughts while Akira was in the park with his monologue(at this point, I really cannot hold back my sobs that turned into wailing): It's so hard to hate you Akira, you pitiful soul. But when I think about Yuki, I felt so betrayed and heartbroken. Just because you lost to your insecurity, you sacrificed the person you loved and who loved you sincerely. That was just unfair and unforgivable.
We got a happy ending, but that wasn't the happy ending I was hoping for. I would have wished for Yuki to have found a person who can sincerely love and cherish him...openly. He deserve that kind of man. But I guess the show also wants to reiterate the importance of fate and second chances. It was because of fate that they first met, and fate that brought them back together.
Overall, it was a great mini series. I love the life lessons. And the OST. And the chemistry between our leads. Although their emotional scenes falls short of standard, the rest made up for it.

You must watch this bl
At first I was really confused if I should watch this bl or not. I didn't know if it was worth watching or not but I decided to give it a go. I watched this drama and it was really great . While watching it, it reminded me of my great memories of my childhood and made me really happy. The way I used to play and all .Chemistry between these two actors is really great, the way they look at each other made my heart flutter. Romantic scene and many funny scene, I really like it.
This drama has really unique story line, you must watch this drama. I am really glad that, I watched this drama. It taught me many lessons of life .i would have missed a masterpiece if I didn't watch this. Chemistry between these two actors is really good.
You will not regret watching this ,and you will learn many things about life too .

I felt betrayed by its ending.
This series has a typical romance storyline; but the gap between this away from the other BL dramas is immensely wide conceptually. The title of the series itself proves that: the interpretation of love by making a line through connecting two dots may be somehow unrealistic. Unrealistic but if it's guided by true love, then nothing is impossible.This 2-hour series has traumatized me emotionally. The unforeseen turn of events is truly heartbreaking for me. The scenes may not show overdramatized acting (which makes this series more natural and likeable); but the time frames of their relationship added with mellow instruments on the background and wonderful video shots bring out the heartfelt emotions.
One thing that I found unacceptable in watching this (but I will say this figuratively because I don't want to spoil those who haven't watched yet): the entire series really did give a justice to the title but the emotions I felt is a line from the first dot that missed the second dot. I can accept the way things ended ONLY IF the team has provided additional scenes that will leave me out of confusion. As far as I was seeing myself at the perspective of one of the main characters, I couldn't find any logical reasons aside from true love to make their relationship ended like that.
I wouldn't dare to spoil anyone who's interested to watch this if this has a happy/sad ending. Let your imaginations run wild. Be curious and watch this!
I finished this today, the same day that I finished watching Make Our Days Count. It fueled my emotional heartbreak while seeing those main leads from that other series. I thought for a second without realizing they are just guest actors: "Am I flipping around? Am I watching a Taiwanese drama but the main actors speak Japanese?".
ALTHOUGH I RANT TOO MUCH, THIS IS A MUST-WATCH (ALMOST PERFECT but *sigh*). ALMOST REALISTIC. HEARTBREAKING. WORTH THE WATCH.

This series may not be the best series but it will always have a special place in my heart.
I've watched this series when it was freshly released in streaming platforms but I just really want to leave a review. This series is just too perfect in my standard, they give a painful scene which literally makes me cry so hard but it still a happy ending. This whole series gave justice to the manga. The cast fits perfectly to their roles and the really did a great job in portraying their characters. I remember watching this 4 times in a day. I dont really want to give a spoiler so I'm just giving my thoughts. I really love the lessons we can get in this series, the production is amazing too! tbh japanese bls never fails to amaze and shock me. up to this day, Im still rewatching this series everytime I feel bored or smth. Different than most shows ive watched
I love how it shows a different story than other shows and cover topics of not accepting yourself until you’re later in life. It’s more realistic than other love stories ive seen. It was emotional and also has an easter egg in the end :) iykykI think the characters fit the actors well too. It’s easy to like the characters throught the show but also maybe not sometimes. It also shows respect for eachother in some scenes with consent. It’s just a really sweet show :) Would reccomend it to people who want something not too dramatic to watch but still interesting!

Sweet & Simple, Summarized Story
The story and the setting are very sweet with the story progressing quickly in years.The story is again a bit realistic and shows how people from the LGBTQ community suffer and go through self-acceptance and go above and beyond to get into the normal that is defined by society.
I loved the acting of both the leads and the way how their character progressed as years go by.
Nishi Yuuki's character played by Raiku is just adorable and clear in his mind, I immediately liked the character and loved that the character stayed as it is till the very end.
Ito Akira played Shirasu Jin showed every emotion, him getting tense about the "Normal", his worry, his love, everything was portrayed perfectly.

Nishi & Ito--A Beautiful and Realistic Love Story
Ito and Nishi are two high school students who meet and fall in love while playing a balancing game on the white line of the street. Throughout their courtship and lives, this line always brings them to each other. Ito lives a reliable yet boring life, and has no true ambition straying from that path. This goal is further reinforced as his free spirited older sister continues to frustrate their parents by not following a more traditional path. Despite falling deeply in love with Nishi, Ito struggles throughout his relationship and his life trying to fit this "non traditional" relationship into his reliable, "normal life." Shirasu Jin does a wonderful job conveying a man living at odds with heart. His struggle becomes the viewers struggle. Even when he makes errors in judgment, we empathize.Nishi is all heart and imagination compared to his lover. Although Raiku plays Nishi with wide-eyed innocence and social awkwardness, the character never lives in a fantasy land. His ability to eschew society's expectations makes him one of the bravest and most fulfilled characters in the show/movie. Nishi and Ito have excellent chemistry and balance each other, making them one of my favorite TV couples to root for.
The writers don't give the couple an easy path to their happily ever after, but the brevity of the series guarantees that the viewers won't have to sob into their tissues for very long.
My only complaint is that the haircuts for the actors never changed during the course of their years together, which made it difficult to mark the passage of time.
