King Singha Worraman created the Katha Singha (a magical mace) by inviting the King of Heaven and various deities to bless it with their powers. It was given to Chaiya, the fearless general of the Tai people. His duty is to fight off invading forces and protect his kingdom. A power struggle ensues between Chaiya and the Royal Priest. Chaiya’s life ends in a struggle. Buasawan, who is the Royal Priest’s daughter, is in love with Chaiya, and before her own death, she breaks the Katha Singha into two pieces. Eight hundred years later, Trai, who is raised by a monk and learns various mythical powers, travels to Singhanakhon to search for the origin of his birth. He meets Sarinda. Sarinda is special in that she is able to read the ancient language of the Trai people from birth. Trai crosses paths with Suttha, Sarinda’s father. Sutta is a powerful man who dabbles with dark powers. Suttha raises Sarinda to help him uncover the location of the Katha Singha. Suttha is a powerful person, but his absorption into dark magic takes a heavy toll on his body. He has gathered up too much dark magic, and it is slowly eating at his body. The only way to save himself is the Katha Singha. Now that Trai has come across Sarinda and Suttha again, the battle that has crossed many centuries and lifetimes must come to an end. Reviews
Y’all know the drill, negatives first which for me was FL. Whilst she wasn’t completely useless, she had knowledge and apparently knowledge is power. I just wish that physically, she wasn’t so weak and needing to be rescued every single time.
STORY
I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into when I started this but I knew there was Magic which I’m a huge fan of - clean not Black Magic. This is possibly the highest level of Power Struggle I have ever encountered, even more than Laila Thida Yak (last Action lakorn I watched).
ACTING/CAST
I wanted to watch this solely for the Action and I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed. ML is one of the strongest I’ve seen in all the year I’ve been watching dramas in general with no signs of weakening as the story progressed so his definitely my favourite. I think together the characters worked really well and the actors made their characters their own.
MUSIC
I mostly remember the opening song since I heard sooo many times, even during the episode so it’s stuck in my head but there is one other song they played that I also enjoyed.
REWATCH VALUE
If you enjoy it as much as me I’d say yes, but if not then obviously not lol.
Whilst there is Romance here, this lakorn is almost pure Action so if you’re thinking of watching this for the romance you may be disappointed. The Romance is so little you may not even notice it but if you’re a fan of Action then this may be right up your street. As I pretty much enjoyed this all the way, I can’t say if this dragged or not so I’m not really qualified to comment on that. I do hope Thailand come out with more lakorns like this one.
Very excellent!
Overall, it is very great! I wasn't expecting much because nowadays Thai drama has been boring for me, but this drama really catches my interest. What I like most is the strong connection between the two main cast. It doesn't feel force, by watching it you can tell that the two actually just love each other and not because of their past lives. The drama has a good balance of having romance and the main problems/plot.
The two main character did a great job acting. But the acting in the past lives wasn't as good as the acting in the second lives. They both did great though!
The ending was great without too much rush. I like how they didn't leave a cliff hanger, and actually let us know how they both meets each other again. It was a great and satisfy ending. I wish there will be a season 2 or a special episode though.
The songs was great!
The plot wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've seen worst, and this is probably one of the best Thai drama I have watched.
