A MUST WATCH !!!

Im Siwan strikes AGAIN !!! Honestly ever since I knew he was going to be the lead i expected this to be good but i did not expect this to be THIS good. Shin Sekyung is also doing an amazing job she really breathed life into oh mijoo’s character. All four characters are so different yet so real, they are not perfect, a bit weird but that’s how we all are. the chemistry is off the charts. but what really impressed me is how well written this drama is. the dialogues are so perfectly written you just keep going back to their conversations. It may look like a usual sport drama but trust me it’s so much more. if you are looking for a some light hearted easy on the mind kind of drama this one’s for you. In short, don’t miss out on this masterpiece.

Something Was Missing

Even though I would like to, I feel as though I can't write an actual in-depth review considering the fact that I had only watched 10 episodes before dropping it. Here's the thing, the show isn't bad at all. In fact, the characters are great and it has a really promising storyline. The problem for me is that I felt like something was missing, and it is frustrating because I don't know what that something is.

The cast is great, and I was especially excited because Im Siwan is an incredible actor, on top of the fact that I am a huge fan of Sooyoung because of SNSD so of course I would automatically watch anything she's in. The biggest issue is that I don't know what the issue is and it drove me crazy. I found myself getting bored and distracted even though this drama has everything I would enjoy. The two leads were so sweet and the second leads were just as entertaining but yet, I still kept pausing the show, going on my phone, or even walking away while it played(and then I would have to rewind because I was confused).

Maybe one day I'll revisit the show, especially since so many people loved it and because the characters were all so lovely, but for now, I will give it a low rating and keep it pushing.

Best in a long time!

I don't do 10s. This is the best rating I've ever given to any drama. At first it was a little hard to like it, because it's like nothing I've seen. Completely character driven, which I love, the dialogue is fast and funny, but in translation and with subtitles it's a little harder to catch the tone of the wit. But witty it is, and sarcastic, and eccentric. Nearly every character is odd in their own way, and some are very unlikable, anti-social, sociopathic - yet I like them. There is hardly any character in this drama who is unlikable - perhaps one, and yet even he has moments of humanity. It did take a little while for this drama to get into its stride, but it is well worth the wait. Much of the drama feels aimless, while characters spend time finding their direction, but as they begin to find their feed, the story begins to blossom, has setbacks, but continues. This is a very human drama, makes me feel warm and fuzzy without being sentimental, and also touches on some real issues which seem to pervade Korean society. It may be unrealistic in some ways (no one seems to be really struggling or overwhelmed by life, for example , but in other ways it shows relationships in down to earth, maybe even humdrum detail, but makes them engaging and beautiful. Can;t recommend it enough.

The perfect drama for everyone

So, I'm currently at episode 9 and I am not afraid to give this a 10. This is the first time I'm reviewing a drama, I've given a 10 score to other dramas before but this is the first time I really wanna write something about it. This is such a new and fresh drama style, I really like this. The story is nothing new, you won't be surprised by plot twists and everything else, it's just the daily life of our 4 main characters and oh...thos 4 characters!!!

The cast is just PERFECT, for everyone who's considering not watching this because of Shin Se Kyung past acting roles, just forget about them and give this drama a shot, she's INCREDIBLE, she surprised me so much that even made it to my favorite actresses of all time hahah, the other actors are just as incredible as her, their acting is incredible, it's really easy to connect to each one of them and they did an amazing job.

The ost are all amazing, I keep listening to them on spotify whenever I can, they fit the drama really well.

Overall, this drama is really great, not everyone will like it but If you just want to chill and watch a story that will hook you up all night and want to laugh a little bit with a slow burn romance, give this one a chance and you'll not be disappointed :)

Beautiful journey into self-discovery and human connection

I enjoyed this drama more than I thought I would. My favourite aspect was the portrayal of quirky personalities that find others to understand and accept them
as they are. The dialogues are a masterpiece, it really allows the viewers to understand the what, why and how of everything that’s going on. We’re all different and dramas often portray certain stereotypes in an unrealistic way, this show didn’t do that.

The premise of he story seems quite simple, but it touches on common issues in a very meaningful way such as greed, family, socioeconomical and gender power dynamics, meaning of sportsmanship, self-discovery and how to be true to oneself. The story develops and builds in such a beautiful and realistic way and the I could really feel the main characters inner struggles and their growth. I really appreciated the various emotional dynamics, especially between ML and FL. Their connection was soulful, on a deeper level and full of vulnerability. This series was quite profound, but managed to remain light and wasn’t overly dramatic in a forceful way. My only complaint was the lack of romance in the story or the discrepancy between what I felt was the depth of the characters feelings vs how little they acted on them. Realistically, if you show a lot of vulnerability, closeness should match.

Pleasant to watch

Really liked this drama so far. I have watched 3 episodes .. loving it..

This drama has differnt story .. loved it and so i decided to give review after 3rd episode

All the stars have done well. Very nice chemistry between the leads. Maturity can be seen from the way its enacted specially for male lead.. in the end of third episode his decision turns around the situation. His firmness not to surrender to corrupt practises and to stand for what he believes right ... very nicely depicted..

surprisingly this is first drama i am watching for Im *Shi Wan*.. its just impressive.. he is fit to be an athlete

In third episode.. Dilemma of female lead not to sway away when offered bribery is shown beautifully . *Shin ke kyun* did good job as always

It involves sports and politics relating to it but it also focuses on ethics and values that young generation stands for..

Good investment of time if you wish to see something lighter , romantic with hansome male lead with a dash of politics and sportsmanship

refreshing

I can say this Drama is very refreshing to watch from the Creative Dialogue choice, Pastel coloring aesthetic, to the 'Unusual' jobs of the pairing (Female Lead as an Interpreter while Male Lead as an Athlete). The cinematography is beautifully shot, you'd appreciate the attention to detail. I've seen 4 episodes of the show and I can say it has massive potential. Love the leads (Se-Kyung and Siwan) they're oozing with Chemistry - I cant help but giggle whenever they're together on screen.

I'm obsessed with the show, honestly came here for Se Kyung and Sooyoung but really this drama didn't disappoint. Keeping this review short tho, i may update in a while. if you're looking for a light hearted romcom with the right amount of drama and humor than this is for you.

Pretty bad

I absolutely adore Shin Se Kyung, I would watch everything with her. However, this one I couldn't.
The script is really bad (anything with sports is pretty boring, what can be worse - well, a story about a sport's writer), the chemistry between the main roles is not really there, the support roles are also poor (mainly because of the poorly written script but I also dislike the support female role). I saw many people swearing this is some really nice drama, with great chemistry (where?) to me it was just bad and could not get past the first 5 episodes. I feel sorry for Shin Se Kyung, hope her next one will be better.

Good at first half, but falling down at second half

I tried to force myself to watch this drama again until the end because previously I stopped this drama in the middle of the episode but still couldn't help but understand why it felt bland and not as interesting as the beginning of the episode. I don't know why the characters in this drama don't have the right chemistry, I didn't feel anything when watching this drama even though I had high expectations when I wanted to start this drama and the first few episodes but in the middle of the episode it was like falling into a hole. For ML and FL, it felt like there was chemistry at the beginning of the drama but in the middle it seemed like they lost the chemistry itself. The side couple is also the same, even though I've forced myself to watch it until the end, I still can't finish this drama for some reason. Looks like I will still not be able to finish this drama until the end.

A series that ticked all the boxes

Everything you want in a drama was more than likely put into this. I expected them to skip over things most dramas do but it went into them and dived deeper than i even imagined.
What I loved most was how this drama reflected life, the awkwardness of starting a new relationship, the trials of family, the trauma of stereotypes.
I don't want to give much away but this drama even stepped into subjects that are still sadly taboo in south korea and i respect them for that as it is real and they can't hide it (LGBT)

The 2 main leads (mijoo and seung) were a perfect match, their relationship was built on trust, understanding and most importantly communication, I loved the fact we would get so many scenes of them just talking and it wouldn't feel boring. While watching the drama I felt as though I could really see their relationship progress. There was no silly misunderstandings or drama just 2 people learning to love and becoming friends to lovers. The slow pace never felt as though it dragged it felt real and natural.
The other 2 leads (yeonghwa and Seo) had a little bit more drama to them, while there was no silly misunderstanding there were more trials to overcome. I am happy with the ending they had, generally because nothing was forced. They had great chemistry and even better personalities.

The ending was beautiful, it left me feeling complete.
Thank you, writers and directors and everyone for such a beautiful drama this definitely made my month!!

A Getaway For Lost Souls

I never expected anything from this drama. I even thought that it'd be another sport drama like "Weightlifting Fairy : Kim Bok Joo". I was WRONG. This is what you called HUMBLE MASTERPIECE. Here's why..

❤Say no to mediocre, cliche storyline you can find in any K-Dramas. It's refreshing, funny, hilarious, mind blowing and humbling. You'll find yourself smiling from ear to ear and crying in a matter of seconds in every episode (esp towards the end). So if you seek something different, refreshing & heart warming, this drama is your answer

❤Storyline that took focus on every character's daily lives. Just like someone said before in this platform, this drama showed that every person is their own main character in their lives. If you want a getaway from your work or even life itself, this drama will give you some kind like cure for your lost soul.

❤It promotes healthy relationship (the importance of communication & trust), LGBTQI+ awareness & female empowerement. Things that I rarely saw mentioned explicitly in a drama. Bravo!

❤Lovely, cute & beta male characters as mainleads. Really tho, I love how they portrayed both male mainleads to be more gentle, full of emotion & loving than the female mainleads. In contrast, the female mainleads are definitely independent Alpha females with their own badass charms. It's refreshing to see the gender role reversal.

❤The chemistry between the mainleads! 10000/10. Damn, I didn't expect to be blushing & squealing hearing drama dialogues. Seon Gyeoom, he's literally a poet & a flirt with/without him knowing that. His pickup lines or rather I'd say compliments for his gf were just too cute, hot, smart & unique at the same time. Seon Gyeom be lowkey waking up my deep down desire tbh, hahaha..

❤Acts : 1000/10. They're all amazing actors, but for me there should be a special shout out to Im Siwan for bringing Seon Gyeom character alive. He really left me with deep impression with his gentle, loving & nurturing traits. Even tho his character was oftenly misunderstood & even being hated just bcs he's mainly clueless & rather 'hard' to approach, I love to see him break down. Im Siwan was successfully portrayed that. You can learn from his character, to not overly thinking for whatever problem that you encountered on the road. Take your time, take a rest but don't give up. Enjoy the ride of the world that has given you.

For me his character would be the perfect depiction of my dream man/soulmate. Wise, smart, full of principles, family man, loyal, patience, had his own passion/dream, trustful & supportive. Damn even tho his character is awkward & oftenly lost on his own thoughts, but he's very charming in his own way. Just watch it guys, his & Yeong Hwa characters are hilarious to watch! (I also surprised to see Kang Tae Oh acting cutely. Even his cries also cute..)

❤Filmography : 1000/10. The asthetic, the vibe, the beautiful shots. Damn, it's not your typical K-Dramas, people, it's an art..

❤Motivational. Full of beautiful, meaningful & wise quotes from the start till the end. I even wrote down some of its quotes. My favourite would be "Who will be the longest to be with me? It'd definitely be me, myself. Until the day I die, even tho I already found my soulmate, I'll be buried alone, with no one but myself. I don't wanna love myself too much, but I also don't want to lose myself"

❤Bittersweet happy ending but it really showed that's life. Sometimes you just don't know what'll happen in the future. You just have to enjoy the ride and see what world will give to you. You learn from your past mistakes & experiences, to be a better person in the future.

❤If "Because This Is My First Life" , "Fight For My Way" & web dramas on youtube had a 'child' it'd be this drama. Slice of life meets romcom. Relaxing with normal pace drama.

Some criticisms that I should point out :
❤I felt bored on somewhere in the middle of the drama. Some scenes are unnecessary to keep & it caused the dragging.
❤Minor plotholes that matters to detail oriented viewers, but overall it didn't affect the drama.

So what are you waiting for? Looking for motivational, entertaining, sweet & funny drama, you really should watch this drama! Definitely worth your time!

Would rate it 9/10 ❤
