The Head Hunter
Terrifying news of an unsolved serial killing case strikes the country, putting everyone in fear. One day, a family of four visits a camp site just to face a horrible death by this very serial killer, Head Hunter. A boy survives the ambush and later on pinpoints the prime suspect as the killer. Meanwhile, a gene test to verify an unborn fetus for its potential psychopathic characteristics is carried out on Head Hunter’s baby, and the baby’s mother has to make a choice. (Source: Viu)

A good start with the polemic theme that I hope that's more explored: if you knew that your son Will he be a psychopath before being born, would you create or abort?

Un primo episodio terrificante, che crea aspettative difficilissime da soddisfare.La teoria della psicopatia causata da un gene, alla luce delle ultime teorie mediche, potrebbe anche avere un piccolo fondo di verità. Da lì a voler fare uno screening a tutte le donne incinte, con obbligo di abortire per le madri di feti portatori del gene... ce ne corre. Anche perché se è vero che anche solo l'1% della popolazione ha tratti psicotici (ma c'è chi dice addirittura il 4%) sarebbe un po' difficile gestire la cosa. Ma, soprattutto, dove sarebbero tutti questi pericolosissimi assassini per le vie delle nostre città? Menzione d'onore per la recitazione dei bambini. A inizio drama ci dicono che hanno avuto supporto psicologico. Per fortuna.

I didn't expect the first ep itself to be so....oh man. What an ep. Don't expect the kid to be a good kid just misunderstood who deserves a second chance because that's not the case here.What a chilling performance from Kim Kang Hoon. I started this Kdrama for him after seeing him in Camellia blooms and man that kid is talented. He blew my mind away. I was completely on edge during the whole episode.
The first ep itself made my mouth hang open the whole way through. No gore but very dark and brutal. The ep didn't pull any of its punches and showed exactly how a Murderer affected the lives of the people he touched and now it's his offspring's turn... God...

Honestly, the first episode was basically like a movie. I think people should watch the 1st episode even if they are not going to watch the whole show

The first episode was full of mystery and the beginning of the story of the crimes, so it shows us the study of the creation of a man with the nature and intention of a psychopath.

The first episode started pretty dark as we're introduced to a very gruesome murder case that would be a trigger that would make people want to attempt to eradicate anyone who could potentially grow up to become a psychopath. It was an interesting theory after all, to explain the reason why psychopath behaved the way they did and whether or not it was influenced by genetics et al. And it also pose a question whether or not such research was ethical as to gain control of the genetic data of people. And dilemma between trying to decide whether or not a child with such genes could become a problem later was quite interesting too. And that would lead to even more questionable decisions later on.
So far the plot was quite interesting, tho it could be pretty hard to view the serial killer scenes at one go. That said, I have to praise the casting on this drama. Particularly for Ahn Jaewook.

Probably the best opening of any Kdrama I have ever watched. Will be very difficult for the show to top this.
