Cotton candy fluff with sprinkles on top.
What do you get when you mix The Brightest Star in the Sky With Moonlight but take away the dog?One would assume earth or a galaxy far, far away... but nope you get Assistant of Superstar, or maybe pop rocks... Anyway you get something sweet, easy to binge and fun to watch with highly predictable twists a spaceship filled with slices and a whole lot of charm!
Though the male lead is in need of a lesson or two about consensual behaviour, he never uses force to force himself on the female lead and does actually get that lesson done right.
He is also sweet, fun to watch, charming, just jealous and immature enough to make it cute and funny and not over the top. He is stupid but not to stupid, conceded but not to conceded... Slightly obsessed with the female lead but on a scale of Icicle to full on lava stalker Id say he is somewhere around bonfire.
The female lead is actually pretty smart and is the one with the slightly lower EQ among the two giving the dram a slight role reversal feel to it. She is very quiet... honestly I think she does more talking during the first two episodes then during the entire drama, but she speaks louder with action and mimics.
The second couple is... well... Lets´s just say I did not find them annoying but rather did fall in love with them however! I loved Pandoras energy... She does cross the line a lot and is more of a full on lava stalker and not just a bond fire, do not act like her, as a woman it may actually get you killed in real life... But she is definitely a sweetheart and well her heart was in the right place I guess...
Other then that the villains are pretty good looking and do their job well... I could have done without them but then we would not have any drama now would we...
All in all if you like star falls for assistant cliches, rivalry and broken souls mended this is deffenetly a good place to look for it... If you do not like that stuff, go watch something else.

Unpretentious comedy
Just what is needed to relax and laugh at the antics of the "superstar" actor YouXi (Kele Sun) and the "assistant" Yuchi YaoYao (Hanna/Lu YangYang) he roped in. It often feels like parody, clichés and tropes are gleefully taken on by the actors. There is a complicated word (enoclophobia) for the mental discomfort suffered by the FL character.
The first part was just fun, the second part of the drama got more serious, touching on actor cancellation and their fighting for professional survival, while the FL, after sweetly hinting she would be taking up sewing to make ends meet, evolved into more of an actress herself in helping her boyfriend prepare for roles and meetings, perhaps taking her cue from Pandora, who performed every moment of her "life" as if it was a script to be filmed. YouXi played childish tricks to the shy student he fell for almost at first sight, but stood firmly by her to defend her when it mattered.
The music is a simple song that feels endearingly childish. I found myself smilingly humming the tune while preparing food and thinking about the funnily voracious Pandora (LQ Wang /Wang Lu Qing) and YouXi !
It may annoy some watchers, but I had a good time watching this rather short one, as c-dramas go.
I rewatched some episodes, and was not bored at all. It is not a masterpiece, but quite okay.
I recommend it for those who are not too fussy and just want to spend a few hours with a generally unpretentious comedy.

Sweet clown face
Sun Ze Yuan playing the male lead You Xi is adorable and bratty and sweet and annoying in equal measure. His goofy smile had me grinning even with some of his OTT selfish attitudes. His character hints at what becomes of a young, successful actor whose every utterance and action is on display for comment. The FL Hanna, played by Yuchi Yao Yao. comes from an intellectual background following in her fathers footsteps studying Chinese history. Held back from a teaching role due to an earlier tragedy she is coerced into tutoring this intellectually lightweight actor.
Lots of humour and I found myself giggling often at the characters antics. A lot of the sweetness shows up in our MLs headwear and clothes and his very animated facial expressions make a welcome change to the frozen face style adopted by some of his colleagues. This is ultra sweet fun with the usual restrained romance expected by Chinese censorship.

Comedy and bit of romance but weak female lead character
This drama is funny and really enjoyed it. However, it started dragging out the whole storyline of YouXi and Yao Yao relationship getting exposed. Her character just gets weaker. She does nothing to speak up for You Xi or to fight for him. She just clams up and runs away.Okay, I've already had to endure from ep 14 approximately into ep 21 now, and Yao Yao is horrible at comforting You Xi. She's like a mute just watching his world fall apart.
Finished this drama and have to say, I really enjoyed the male lead plus supporting cast of Maury, Pan Duo, and Qi Chao. The actors playing the parents were good too. As for Yao Yao, the direction of her character in this drama to the end could have been written better. It really dragged out her fear of public speaking far too long into the last episode. Then, when she finally did speak in front of the cameras, it was so uneventful.
I'm curious to see the actors in other dramas. I fault this one to the screenwriter and director.

Another heart fluttering and fluffy story
At first i thought it will be like any other idol drama with not so good acting but i was totally wrong the cast did an amazing job and not only main cast all the characters did a great job.... It was a fluffy drama which makes your heart flutter every 5 mins... I bet u will smiling like crazy every second while watching this cause i was ?the main cast was too cute to be handle .... It was a great watch give it try❤The story was not something new but the acting did all the work for me... First i was unsure cause it was a new cast for me i think the male lead was in beautiful time with you drama so i thought i will give it a try and it was very worth it...

Lots of wasted time
Granted, it's shorter than a lot of Chinese dramas, but I still found myself fast forwarding through a lot of it. It felt like the storyline was in a continuous loop. I didn't see the male lead as a superstar, he acted more like a trainee, and I really don't think his character grew throughout the drama. He was very immature and yelled A LOT. It was very sweet when he was trying to do something for the FL, but when she or someone else questioned him, he yelled. I don't like drunk confessions or drunk kisses. The FL was gorgeous to look at. I don't think I've previously seen her in anything. Her character started out strong, in the middle became a doormat, and then toward the end got a spine again.
The second couple, just no. He had absolutely no personality and the character of Pan Duo was one of the most irritating I've seen in a while. Her voice was terrible, and she was virtually a stalker. She constantly called him "My Idol". She was constantly trying to trick him to spend time with him. I don't understand how anyone could come to want her as a girlfriend.
There were a few cute scenes in this show, but unfortunately, for me, they were few and far between.

Enemies of Superstar, oh and his assistant...
Starting out I found this drama a bit cheesy and silly but enjoyable. I didn’t mind the ML’s immaturity (at first). It actually made for some pretty funny moments. He was giddy over the FL and his jealousy was adorable. However, around 2/3 into this drama I grew tired of the ML’s immaturity and outbursts. The reoccurrence of it became stale.
I was also really tired of the FL. Her character lacks depth and she has almost no character development whatsoever.
Additionally, I don't understand why the other actors hate the ML so much. They are just weirdly evil and I can't follow the logic. There seems to be no reason for their hate towards the ML. Are they just evil cause they are evil? Just like the FL, they have no character development.
There’s also the issue of the FL’s ex. I don’t understand his motive for getting involved in the FL and ML’s relationship. He suffered no consequences from their breakup. It’s not like he still loves her or anything. Does he just not want her to be happy? I don’t understand his involvement.
Despite wanting to drop this drama a number of times I grit my teeth and stuck with it mostly because I couldn’t decide on something else to watch and I had already watched more than half the drama.
Luckily the ML finally matured in the last 3rd of this drama. Good thing too because he’s the most entertaining thing about this drama. (The manager and Pan Duo delivered a few funny moments as well.) Although the leads have some cute moments together, everything else except the ML felt very one-note. I really could not get into the business part of this drama and all the nasty netizen drama. I found it incredibly repetitious and uneventful.

Soulless rom-com that was a house of tropes and clichés
There are times when you live in hope that a show will turn the corner and get good. Well, after 13 episodes of this drama. I cannot see any light at the end of this tunnel so I dropped it. I have no doubt it is on course for a happy ending because it has to but it did not earn it.First of all, there is next to no plot. There is the much hyped animosity between two top idol/actors and that pretty much drove the story along. One idol will try to sabotage the ML and he will hit back with something. It is all about competing to be the top dog and play dirty to get there. As a villain, the other idol is laughable. He tried to act like some kind of evil mastermind but he is just not up to it (acting and plot wise). So the show is basically moments and scenarios being thrown together one after another. A change of scene, a cliché moment, maybe a gag accompanied by funny sound effects (just in case we missed it). Rinse and repeat. Most of it centred around feeble attempt by the ML to impress the FL. All the tropes and clichés are piled on top of each other in place of any real story telling. You can forget about PC or moral, this stuff roamed with the dinosaurs.
It is unavoidable that we have to talk about the acting. It is meh to bad. The longer I watched the antics of the ML, the more I'm convinced that he should stick to his day job as a singer. He is meant to be a famously handsome idol/actor and some of his scenes made me groan out loud, especially when he is supposed to be acting on sets of real dramas. The FL was ok but there is really little scope for her to act. There are also too many side characters and most of them are stereotypes of little consequence. There is so much overacting from the ensemble.
To be fair, I was actually entertained for a few episodes because all the acting was over the top so that it was like a parody but then after a dozen episodes, I realised that this is IT. This is all we are going to get. It was depressing.
Now we can talk about character growth. There is none (so far). Most of the characters are one dimensional. The FL is supposed to be well educated but she is a doormat and a wall flower (tough gig). She was blackmailed to become a slave, tutor and mother to the ML. The ML was a man-child who is rude, crude and insensitive (what else can he be?!). Yes, he did sort of changed a little because he wanted the FL to like him but this is not growth. He bounces all over the place with his desperate need to please the FL only to turn around and bark harshly when he is challenged about his feelings for the FL. Even after his "confession" he was so awkward to be around as the FL didn't even took him seriously and I don't blame her. I already talked about the villain(s). You have to either laugh or cry.
There is a little bit of skinship so far but I don't feel much chemistry between the leads. Yes, the Show pulled out all the tricks to push them together but I feel sorry for the FL for having to put up with the childish antics of the ML. I don't ship the CP and that is the kiss of death for any romantic drama in my book.
So please don't waste your time on this unless you are doing a case study or feel the need to suffer. For a moment I thought it might be so bad that it will become a cult classic but alas, no. May be it was created as a vehicle for someone or to fill a void in scheduling, in either case, a waste of resources. Peace out.

Bad characters: what is a personality?
First of all, the main leads.I can't seem to know if the main actor is bad at acting, his character is bad, or both.
The 'cold' persona that the character had didn't help him in any way as we would see that he is but a child in the body of a man.
One thing that was interesting was his room, it was logical and added a slight depth to being a famous actor. However that small detail couldn't save the character. Also, kissing the FL when she's drunk, then again kissing her while drunk, yeah, big nono.
The female lead. At first, I didn't have a problem with her, she's that stereotypical 'cutesy' and 'shy' girl, and again they did add things to the character to make it more interesting, such as the agoraphobia: but it was only used as a stepping stone for the male lead to save her.
The more I watched the FL, the more she lacked emotions. When she finally accepted to be the ML's girlfriend, I couldn't see the 'happiness' that one could have. I haven't seen her other works so it can be blamed on lack of chemistry.
The 'villain'
Plainly, boring. That typical villain that has the stupidest reason to be against our ML. I'm sure the actor could be a terrific villain, if given a good role. He was handsome, yes, but it was in no way interesting to have someone always be the ML's enemy every step of the way, for no apparent reason.
As for the villain's 'sidekick', to have such a petty reason like rejection... They didn't even try to make her have a personality other than 'that girl next to the villain'.
The secondary leads.
I liked Qi Chao and his calm demeanor. Plus, him being cold to girls in general was explained, so his character was the best one for me. However, the 2FL was just an obsessed stalker. She was only useful as the main CP's third wheel and the cute younger sister-like girl.
The plot:
It was generic, famous ML, non-famous FL, workplace romance, kinda ennemies to lovers. It was nothing new. It could've been interesting, if the characters were made 'better'. (By better, I mostly mean in personality and actions)
General:
The characters and the story create the show:
Bad characters= half bad show
Okay story: ehhhh show.
Bad characters + okay story? Bad show.
Why? Because characters are everything.

Entertaining and cute
This was entertaining, at times nonsensical and silly, but its a good pallet cleanser if you've watched heavy dramas and need a break. I like Pan Duo when she's not stalking her "Idol..." She's awful around him... and then faking that she committed suicide as a joke to get his attention? AUGH! I so wanted him to drag her out of the building or call the cops on her. Awful! She's horrible! Who thought making her character a stalker was a good idea? She's better w/o that storyline. Was this review helpful to you?
