Great Escape Season 2 (2020)

Great Show

This show is actually a really good show.
For starters, the casting is amazing. Five top stars in this show together. It's also super surprising that these actors and singers are actually pretty smart. For an actor or an actress, you would just expect them to have good acting skills, and you wouldn't expect too much from their brain, but these people are pretty smart.

Second, the story/plot/cases are super intriguing. You can tell that the director/staff put a lot of effort into making these scenes and creating the cases. It's suspenseful, but also scary sometimes (for those of you that might be scardy cats). The music makes it even better.

Third, this show is not only brain working, but funny as well. Even in the scariest times of the show, one of the cast will make you laugh. Seeing how scared some of them also amuse me sometimes (although that sounds a bit weird).

Overall, I definitely recommend that you watch this, but just a warning- some parts of the show are scary and contain topics that may be sensitive to others. Hope this helped :)

Bored from watching drama, need escaping for a moment to collect my opinion about the drama I've just recently watch & put it into review. I decided to watch something else except drama. That's how I came to this game show.

Quite interesting to see how smart, quick thinking & logic of our actor/ess involve in this game show. So funny too to see who brave and timid among them. Although watch this make me also think is this real, are they reaction real not only act to make the game show interesting or is the quick thinking and logic also real not the script...? Well we only can guess and keep trusting that the whole thing we watched at least real.

I also quite impress with all other guess actor or NPC that involve. They can keep they face flat or have no reaction no matter what our member reaction. Like the first ep where Zhang Yu Jian still with no expression face apart from all the scream our member make.

Quite unique actually when they can combine the game with psychological issue in the society. Like when Kids force to study or bullying... And really interesting to see how they interconnected the scene from previous game.

Overall this actually quite bored game show. I don't know maybe just because the interaction between member not as good like Monkey90 wrote or just the game overall, must compare with season 1.

I did not watch S1 due to lack of subs so I can't compare. But I loved the whole gang, they had a lot of chemistry, and while some complain that this season was only scaring the actors, I loved it and was laughing my a** off every episode.

I was familiar with Justin but he impressed me here since he was smart and proactive and one of the bravest, being the youngest. He also contributes with the fanservice (as in looks, with glasses, hair, hats, etc).

Da Laoshi is funny and he always has a lot of energy. I am used to him since I am a regular watcher of DDU/TTXS. He makes the funniest faces sometimes, and says some silly things here and there. Love him.

Guo Qilin is a cutie and looks the youngest, with that baby face. He is, along with Deng Lun, one of the scaredy cats. BUT, he is also very smart, there were episodes where the others had a big "?" in their faces while he was explaining the clues. Super cute! Love that the Fan brothers (from Joy of Life) got reunited in the final 2 episodes. His "brother" is also another scaredy cat XD

Yang Mi was my least favorite but I loved her relationship with Deng Lun, how she teases him, it is like a big sister/younger brother thing.

Deng Lun... ahhh one of the reasons I watched this. Not only he is super good-looking (and he knows it... my, does he!) but he is also super charming and even if he was screaming in fear in every episode (he is terrified of the darkness) I was laughing as it was the first time I watch it.. every single episode. He is so funny! He wanted to be the captain so much... he may be smart (this season he couldn't prove it much) but his fears were stronger XD

Loved the group, and loved the final 2 episodes with He-ge, Haoran and Zhang Ruo Yun (from Who is the Murderer)

Disappointing

I fell in love with season 1. The whole group dynamic was amazing. This season, the group dynamic is nowhere near as good. I really tried to watch it and get into it but I just couldn't. Nowhere near as good as season 1. The group dynamic helped me enjoy the show even more. This season just doesn't have it.

For the cast members, Wowkie Zhang and Justin were very irritating and annoying. Justin kept trying to get close to Deng Lun (just how Deng Lun and Wei Da Xun were together in season 1) and it was just annoying. Yang Mi was ok but she did get on my nerves at times. The only likeable cast member this season is Deng Lun and that is why I gave a 2 for cast purely for him.

(In my opinion, they should have waited until everyone from season 1 was available so they could all be together again or have an entirely new group of people to form a bond together. Having a few returning and added a couple new ones just doesn't work in my opinion)

Therefore I am dropping this season.

If a season 3 is made, I really hope that Deng Lun, Wei Da Xun and Xie Yilin are involved as they are the three that make the show so much more enjoyable. The rest of the cast I don't really care about.
