The Cutest Meow!!

This is probably one of the best cat/ animal and human dramas!! I ran here after finished watching the drama. Most dramas with this type of genre tend to screw it up with its nonsensical script and cringe-y acting, however, I feel like this drama has got it right in almost all aspects!! Watching this drama definitely makes me smile from ear to ear.

The drama script is very well written and detailed, the drama focuses on small things such as how a cat acts and behaves, such as forehead stroke, nose and hair rubs, how a cat bosses its owner and so on. These types of details are often forgotten in other similar genre dramas. This drama is also REALLY ADORABLE AND FUNNY AS WELL!!

When it comes to acting, both leads are really good and natural in their role. Both of them have very natural and comfortable chemistry. Almost all of the casts in this drama acted really well, the female lead portrayal of a cat is just so realistic, I can literally imagine her as a cat. The female lead is also naive and innocent but not the point where she is annoying. The male lead acts so so so naturally. And of course, we have the mom who acts so well that makes all of us wanna slap her hahaha. Even though the relationship progress is kind of a slow burn, but it is still so cute and fluffy!!

The cinematography aspect is average, just like any other sweet idol romance drama with average shots and a bright colour palette. However, the OSTs of this drama is really cute!! it's really fitting with the overall ambience.

Overall, definitely give this one a try!! You might enjoy it more than you thought~

P.s. This drama has a clear ending so no worries ^^

Cuteness Overloaded ;D

Who would have thought I would find myself smiling like an idiot, grinning all time.

If I've to describe it in word one without even thinking... I would say 'sweet.' Of course having a cat as one of the main characters is going to be adorable. But this just doesn't remain cute. In terms of story, its development, how characters are portrayed... how everything unfolds, it sure impressed me as I started it without any expectations.

The best part of the show would be the leads. I loved their characters, personalities. If you see Xiao Xiu (played by Gia Ge) you wouldn’t have to force yourself to believe she is a cat coz it feels so natural, from the very first scene of hers, the way she talks, the body moment, facial expressions even from the small gestures… you got cat vibes. I never expected this level of acting from a rookie actress like Gia Ge. She has only 2 dramas on her name this being her second drama and first time of having such a big role.

The same goes with You Lun I’m the first time seeing him... His acting is just so soo tranquil so is his character, Chi Yan. Chi Yan is calm composed, kind but kinda antisocial (having only one friend), distant from the world.. Living his life alone, and no intention to be different than this. His reactions are precious when Xiao Xu enters his life and makes it upside down and how their interactions happen, how they start to like each other.. The all process of these things happening, a big character development (but in a natural way) is so soothing and satisfactory to watch.

The weak chain of it would be the antagonists, as his character is not fully developed and nor having any proper reason for what he did. In this part, the writing was weak… but other than that there’s almost nothing that bothered me. Side characters, their stories are interesting. But nothing really overshadows the main lead’s story. This is so predictable, the story is simple as like any interspecies romantic story. But the characters, the small details, the acting, execution, the sizzling chemistry everything makes it more special different than usual. And of course, it is filled with sweetness.

12 year old me would've loved this!

This is a family drama mostly catering to children's tastes. I think 10-14 old children would absolutely love this, but for adults it's not that great. Not only does the drama have giant plotholes, but also the story has very little to offer. I mean sure the FL did a phenomenal job portraying a mystical cathuman, but that's not enough to carry the entire show. The leads may have had okay chemistry, but their relationship had very little substance and the whole thing with ML rejecting FL's advances, despite dating and even living together has been quite frustrating.
Also the whole "rollback" thing is a horrible waste of time, they should've just cut the show short, or come up with something else, like filling 3-4 episodes with fluff instead..

Still at least the show is not trying to be anything more than silly & juvenile. I had some good laughs here and there. Compared with Meow the Secret Boy this one is HUGELY better.

What a nice surprise! ^___^

Once again, personal expectations ended up having a huge impact on my grade...in the case of this "Make a Wish", though, I must confess I started watching it only out of my love for the 2nd FL, Chen Hao Lan, all while honestly thinking that I would probably drop it after a coupla episodes, as it had been the case of another C-drama sharing a very similar premise, "Falling in Love with Cats".
But I couldn't have been more wrong, LOL, 'cause I really, really loved this drama! ^_______^
Beautifully scripted, directed, photographed, and last but certainly not least acted by the whole cast (with particular praises, apart from the afore-mentioned Chen Hao Lan, for the adorable leads, Ren You Lun and Gia Ge, and for the very funny 2nd ML, Wang Tian Yu. They were really very good and added greatly to the drama's value. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the lovely OST/score, another very nice detail indeed!
If you are (like I was) a bit skeptical about the premise, give this title a try anyway, it'll probably surprise you like it surprised me, with its great quality and interesting script tastefully mixing so many different ingredients (comedy, drama, romance, SF, suspense, etc. etc.).
I literally enjoyed it from the very first minute to the very last! Perfect 10 as far as I'm concerned! ^__-

Must Watch C-DRAMA!! Must Watch C-DRAMA!!

Sorry for my bad English :)

I don't know why people don't talk about this drama :'), but for me this drama is one of the best C-Drama i've ever watched!!

Cast:
The female lead acting it's amazing! I like her character, she is new actress but for me her acting is one of the best among others female lead dramas!! I like the chemistry between chi yan and xiao xiu
I have watched ren youlun others drama, but i think this character is more suitable for him and i started to like him !!

Story:
When i first saw the cover's drama, i'm not interested at all, but i tried to watch first episode and i love it !! the story it's different from the others drama, because most of cdrama i've ever watch only talk about romance and the story it's so-so.

A gorgeous human feline!

The story revolved around a cat from meowplanet who comes to our planet and can turn into a human. She comes in the life of a sour faced ML (her words, not mine though aptly spoken). She can only return if she full fills the wish of the ML to whom she is indebted.

Although the premise is as childish as it comes but it was made to work well. I kept on watching because the FL was so breathtakingly beautiful and acted well. She never got annoying as a cat human. She was a fast learner as well so made up for her initial ignorance.

The ML was ok and could have shown more character growth. A typical cliche of memory loss thrown at the end which was resolved quickly. I did not care about the second leads or side characters except a good looking conflicted guy who had dual role of kind of second ML and partly villain.

Happy ending, few nice close lipped kisses and good hugs.

Good for a fast run.

Really good performance from both leads

The scenario is not really a fresh concept in itself : a surnatural being coming to earth and relying on one human to get used to "earth life" and then, they obviously fall in love.
But a few details made the difference here.
-  the FL is not helpless, just unaware of certain rules. And she learns fast, is always very careful of how she acts around others and tries her best not to be a burden. I really like the fact that they wrote a very sensible and intelligent yet bright character for her. She's independent and likes to explore on her own, just like a cat.
What made her character good is also Gia Ge's amazing performance.
I think she did a really detailed job with her body language, micro expressions and sounds to act like a human-cat without making it weird either. For example the way she moves her head when she pays attention to something is more cat-like than human-like but it's too subtle to feel like a forceful detail.

- I also like the fact that they managed to describe very accurately the world of an introvert (the ML) without making him a lonely and hurt wolf. He has a complicated past but accepts the situation and I think that makes him more realistic than the typical forever-wounded-but-saved-by-love ML.
He appreciates his independence, is an easy going yet complex character and the bromance with his best friend is really natural and fun to follow.
But none of this would have been possible without the performance of Ren You Lun.
Everything in the way he talks or moves totally embodied the character . And that's why this already-seen concept works here. The story is impossible but the characters are so well portrayed by the main actors that they make it believable. I didnt doubt a second that Ren You Lun was in fact Chi Yan, which made him realistic and therefore made the whole story "believable".

There are a couple of downsides, some parts were a little artificial. As a person who has felt abandoned many times and who had doubts about being vulnerable again, it wasn't really clear how the ML suddenly got over his worries  and decided to date the FL .
I also really liked the twist towards the end but the last 4 episodes had a little bit of a weird rhythm because the romance is pretty much resolved at episode 20/21 and then the rest is a rush through the other plot.
Some solutions brought towards the end were also a little bit forced but this is a c-drama so compared to others, it still flows pretty well.

Overall this is a very sweet romance with a very good performance and chemistry from the leads. I almost didn't use the +10sec button, which is RARE with c-dramas.

surprisingly decent drama

initially, when i first saw the title and the poster, i didn’t add this to my list as it doesn’t entice me. yet, i ended up getting hooked to it.

the plot is really interesting and the actress, Gia Ge, did a good job portraying the details of a cat. the way she wrinkles her nose is really cute, and very cat like. also, i love her acting during those heartbreaking scenes, the way she cried, i could feel the pain and it makes me sad too.

Ren You Lun also brought Chi Yan to live, the way he detached himself to others because of his past, and how he slowly accepted help from others, and how Xiao Xiu helped him to walk out of the dark, being ever so supportive whenever he is insulted and treated badly by others. you could really see the process of him opening his heart to others, and that’s very comforting to see.

as for the story, it can be improved i guess. initially it was very interesting and feels refreshing but towards the middle, around ep 17-19 it feels very draggy, and the fact that they only managed to catch the assailant at the last ep is also uhh. they also just glossed over the story with his mother & step-brother, so did he finally stopped being in contact with them? or is he still suffering? or maybe they did show it but i can’t really remember nor do i understand that plot.

in addition, my most dislike plot in dramas is having amnesia in them!!!!!!!! and this show does too, sigh. but to be fair, in this drama, it was justifiable… i felt so sad when it happened and her acting really helped me understand how she felt inside, i’m just glad that it all worked out in the future. ah, another part where i feel slightly disappointed is the fact that the characters didn’t tell their friends about the secret? ): i thought they would but they didn’t and slightly disappointing as his bff is his only friend for so long.

anyway, was a decent watch as long as you ignore some plot holes and the drag. a cute & fluffy drama, worth a try! :)

The whole packagea

I have no idea why I've been obsessed with Gia Ge since Youth With You, I just know that she's the reason I watched Make a Wish. To be honest, I want expecting much; she's a rookie actress and I didn't know the rest of the cast.

But wow, she delivers one of the most realistic and amazing acting I've ever seen in Chinese dramas. Not only she can act cute without over doing it, she delivers powerful sad acting and every emotion we are supposed to see. Gia Ge was unquestionably the highlight of this drama and I would watch it again for her. So excited to see her next work.

Now, the rest of the cast did great. The male lead was also a great actor and I'm looking forward to see him in different genres. The secondary couple did not get my attention, and I even skipped most of their story. But it's not the actors fault, they were great, as expected.

My criticism goes to the SML. Oh, boy, he did not get the assignment! He was supposed to look mean all the time, but all I saw was the same face over and over again. He had the looks, but not the talent. I hope he improves in the future, but in this drama, he wasn't good and I'm glad he wasn't the focus all the time.

Because of the acting and the characters backstory, I have to say this is one of my favorite dramas. Not only that, but I don't think I've laughed so hard with a c-drama before. Even if the storyline was messed up, and had many holes, I still think that it was worth the watch.

I don't know if I'll recommend this to someone, because I believe that the show's audience is really specific, but I'll definitely remember this, and it'll go to my All Time Favorites list.

Gia Ge Stole The Show!

Let me be straight.
There is no universe in any of the multiverse out-there where I would be a cat person.
I am a dog person through and through.

With that said… This little white kitty and this rookie actress have stolen my heart.
Gia Ge perfectly portrayed that FL character.
More than often, we get those rookie female leads who make us wonder… “How the hell these girls got those leading roles…?”
Well, Gia Ge is not one of them!
Her acting skills are well-developed and are as expressive as one would expect from a veteran/seasoned actress.
I am excited to follow her with her next projects.

As for the ML…
Let me just say; Gia Ge saved the drama. The writing behind his character was dull. His acting was dull. The actor, himself, was dull. I really did not find any real development with his character; other than, he was reacting to the FL’s charismatic dynamic.
The interesting storyline about him being a legit writer, no longer a ghost writer, and taking his pen-name back from his conniving stepbrother just fell short and underutilized.

All and all, I watched Make a Wish for Gia Ge. One of the very few promising rookie actresses whom I had the pleasure to watch this year.

100/100 very recommended

This series is on my top 3 favorite chinese drama. Please watch it. I won't add any spoilers here because I want you to watch it yourselves. The actress is really great at doing her character as a cat and also I fell inlove with the male lead. I wish there is another series like this so I can watch them. The actress herself is like a cat so it's not hard for her to show this side of her. There is also a sad scene but I will not include it here. Please watch it. I want to rewatch it when I have time.

Unexpected Delight

What a fantastic fun watch! Honestly I looked up the drama previously and decided not watch it, but then I heard great reviews and decided to give it a go. Let's be honest, if you're into asian dramas, the whole cat to human transformation and love story has been done many times, however this is the first time I have seen it executed so well. Majority of time it's cringey and ridiculous, Make A Wish is an exception. The script writers and cast have pulled off what I always thought was impossible with this kind of story.

The acting was fabulous, the female lead embodied the identity of a cat in human form without going overboard. It was the small things that really stuck out, for example the positioning of her hands when she was sleeping, and the sudden change in her facial expressions at different things. For the male lead he was just as good as the female lead. There were scenes that were acted out so realistically towards different situations, it recalled my own experiences. I could relate to his response to different situations, as I have had the exact same response, or someone has had that response to me in a similar setting. Applause all round for the acting.

As for the pacing of this drama; it was perfect. I often have a hard time finishing c dramas due to either the length, or the pacing. I'm use to the kdrama setup of 16 eps. Anything over 16eps I tend to struggle with, however Make A Wish is an exception. It doesn't get laggy or drag at all, but it's also not overly fast paced. The script writer found the middle ground perfectly. I believe this drama has made it 4th on the list of C-dramas that I finished, and didn't fast forward scenes.

The only downfall of this drama is the antagonist. the story never truly explained/ explored why he did what he did. I mean they kind of drop lines that gives you an idea of why, but surely there has to be more to it than what is revealed. It's not a big issue to overlook. It doesn't change the fact that this was a sweet, yet somehow relatable drama. So fun to watch, I hope anyone who reads this wondering if it's worth their time shall give it a try.
