Super sweet

This is a short drama about two boys who meet during their countries lockdown due to this global pandemic. I like how these short pandemic stories also encourage safety issues too and self care. They even had a zoom for mindfulness meditation which is appreciated. Acting was good. Production quality was pretty good. Was a simple story with few actors. No filler drama or negativity. Storyline was really sweet with a lovely happy ending. They had chemistry for sure. Both boys were super cute. Hoping for a season two as they are both so likeable it would be nice to be able to follow their relationship some.

Comforting and cute

This will be added to my list of my personal comfort dramas. It's unexpectedly cute and fluffy, the two leads are absolutely adorable and it's wonderful to see in a setting like the quarantine for the global pandemic.
It's been a while since I felt 0% frustration while watching, too. I'm used to rom-coms having at least one or two events that make the characters get into unnecessary conflict for the sake of drama, so it was very refreshing and satisfying to not find any of that here.
The acting was excellent too, both from the leads and from the side characters. I got so immersed in the story I didn't realize I was finishing the whole thing in one go.
The portrayal of the safety measures against COVID-19 were very accurate and clear too, so I'd say it's also a good reminder for those who are practicing social distancing. The harsh situation isn't watered down either, and the portrayal of the fear and anxiety of the characters was perfect.
I highly recommend watching this!

Simple and cute!

There's not much to it. It's very surface level, but it's exactly what I wanted!! Corny and cheesy and sweet. It's not deep, not overly dramatic. It's just a fun few hours of sweet content. Of course, because it's so short, there are some things that would've been enjoyable to see more fleshed out, but I still loved it. It's not a perfect story and from a critical standpoint it's very bland, yet it's the perfect short, cheesy BL. Especially during quarantine. They did a great job of incorporating the virus into the story to make it cute and very relatable!

Adorable Series about Falling in Love

Boys' Lockdown was my favorite series in 2020 about young people falling in love. Why? Because it reminded me of being young, and liking somebody from afar before ever meeting. This series made me nostalgic for high school, where you would see someone in the hall during passing period, you start to like them and watch them, but are too afraid to approach them. When you finally meet for the first time, it's awkward. The actors conveyed all of the emotions. The paper bag scene was the hot, and there was no physical contact! The drawing Key gave Chen was phenomenal too.

Story 10 - What I enjoyed was how Key and Chen fell for each other from a distance and there wasn't any confusion or anxiety about it. I really liked it when Chen told his sister he was meeting Key, and wasn't asking for permission, showing her that he is serious about Key. I thought that Martin was a great supporting character, especially how he was attending webinars to keep from going nuts during lockdown. There were a few minor dislikes that didn't affect my love for the series: I'm getting tired of the pandemic storyline. Too many gratuitous shirtless scenes. I also didn't care for the girl's volleyball captain not given a name, or being shown.

Acting/Cast 10 - They were all very talented and did a great job. The two male leads smile with their eyes and conveyed their feelings even with masks on. In the scene with the paper bag, you can feel the tension, happiness and excitement.
That takes skill. The support cast is also very talented, especially Teetin and Koloy.

Music 10 - I liked the lightheartedness of the music and score.

Rewatch Value 10 - I will definitely watch this again, especially if I want to feel nostalgic.

Boys' Lockdown: A Hidden Gem!

Boys' Lockdown made me fall in love with their cute story. Their production stood out ... they shone in everything but they must take care of the video call effect because the editing of the shots was very noticeable. But for the rest, I loved the series. I will not deny that it made me very short and I wanted to see more of Key and Che, but I am very excited because there will be a second season (although with another name) and I hope you continue the story since it ended. Ali King fascinated me and Alec Kevin fell in love with me and together they are a very tender explosion.

I repeat: The production stood out a lot, took care of many details and I was happy to see that they emphasized sanitary measures within the series.

The intro: I AM NOT TIRED OF WATCHING IT! She is beautiful, cheerful, funny, sexy, and very eye-catching.

I would give it 10 stars but, due to the failures in the editing of the called videos and the short duration of the series (it could have reached 10 chapters because it had a lot of material to develop the story), I gave it 9 stars.

I really look forward to the second season and in the meantime, I keep discovering gems in the BL pinoy series, because to be honest, I have not been disappointed by the few BL pinoy series that I have seen.

Salamat.

Game!

So Good!

Story
It was the fluffiest, cutest BL I've ever seen. It also had a collection of really funny moments. It's on par with Cherry Magic and Like In The Movies.

Acting/Cast
They were perfect. This chemistry was on point. Alec was just so smooth. He embodied Chen perfectly. He was like the flirt king. Ali was just the cutest with his innocence and awkwardness. I would also love to see a spin off with Martin or at least him starring in his own BL. I immediately liked him.

Music
I enjoyed it, especially the intro theme song. It's so quirky.

Rewatch Value
Yes!

Overall
I have nothing bad to say about this series. It was just so good. You won't regret picking this one up.

I CANT STOP STARING INTO CHEN'S EYES

This mini series is so freaking cuutee as hell I think my heart is gonna burst. There is no conflict (aside from the corona virus) and somehow it ended up an above average pinoy BL of 2020.

Key's character is not the pabebe type of Bottom and i love him for that. Sometimes Chen is too conyo but I still love hearing him talk and looking at his face hahaha

I'd rewatch this series. The soundtracks fit the vibe tooo.

Overall it was one of the cutest and fluffiest and most kilig Pinoy BL mini web series of 2020 I've ever watched. Kaya 10/10.

I Want More

Even though it was short it was good. I liked the fact that they were both shy, and awkward, and it just made everything so adorable.
Unlike most Dramas, this one had no real heartbreak moment, just a small: he didn't show up to our "date". But even that was mended so quickly.
And the fact that they slept in one bed was heartwarming. I could see that Chen wanted to kiss Key so freaking much. He was undressing him with his eyes. He wanted it so badly ?.
They talked all night long through text. I would have been like voice messages or video calling ( ain't nobody got time for texting, my fingers hurt )
And the kiss at the end. Just Perfect!!!

Key and Chen will return. ?

Watch this One for the Smiles......

…..and I mean both the smiles that this series will bring to your face, and also the lovely smiles on the faces of the adorable lead actors.

Plot: This is definitely the opposite of an angst-filled LGBT drama. It is a lovely, light and more than a bit ribald BL rom-com with a straightforward storyline and super-appealing young actors. It doesn’t take itself too seriously (I mean really….the lead characters meet when they just happen to be wearing identical facemasks with a penis motif????) But that’s great as it leave you bemused and smiling – and that is the entire goal of this series!

There are also some serious laugh-out-loud scenes, such as:
-- The moment when the totally lovestruck and befuddled Key unconsciously wraps himself in the curtains while focusing entirely on his “confession” phone conversation with Chen. (Ali King is superb as the lovestruck teenager.)
-- The moment when Chen is having a video conversation with Key, and in the background the goofy security guard Whilce is using his temperature sensor gun to probe his scrotal warmth.
-- The moment when the shirtless (woof!) security volunteer Dicky, having worked up a sweat while learning to dance for Tik Tok vids, picks up his shirt and sniffs the armpits to see if he can put it back on.

There’s no homophobia in this world filled with young love – even the security guards are encouraging the two boys to get together. Chen feels no hesitation about consulting his sister (and guardian) about posting a vlog in which he declares how much he feels for Key.

So it’s all about love, love, love and how to deal with its onset. The only source of angst is the pandemic. The scene in which sister Libby breaks down because of the pandemic-induced stress on her is quite vivid, and you get the impression it was really heartfelt (including just a touch of political rant about poor national leadership). The people making this series were all heavily impacted by the pandemic, and their real feelings shine through in that scene. And the final scene is all about hope in the middle of the pandemic. That scene was memorable because of the build-up to the kiss, yes.....but even more because of the pandemic messaging. Chen and Key, beset by despair and uncertainty on all sides, make a choice for love and hope.

Acting: None of the actors have much experience. But they all had a lot of raw talent. The lead actors did a wonderful job of reflecting the emotions of the characters – even while wearing masks, their eyes did the smiling, and it was SUPER cute and appealing. The supporting actors were also great – Teetin Villanueva as sister Libby was superb in the breakdown scene. And Luis Padilla provided serious eye candy as Dicky.

Production: Very well done, with nice use of close-up shots. Lighting and color very bright, as suited the ambience of the story. Good choice of sets. Background music nicely integrated into the story-telling. I have to give particular tribute to the make-up artists who helped turn young actors with – in the case of Ali King – very prominent five o’clock shadows into fresh-faced youths. There was one scene which showed Ali’s hairy legs, and that’s what made me realize what a good job the makeup team did on the faces!)

But anyway, if you want to finish a series feeling good about life and love, watch this one. I think this series hasn’t gotten the applause it deserves.

P.S. After my third rewatch, I had to go back and upgrade my ratings. I've decided Ep 4 of this series is one of the best, happiest, most true-to-life reflections of awkward/intense young love I have ever seen. If I could bottle the essence of Ali King's smiles, I could cure the ills of humanity.....

It achieved it's goal and was cute doing it

Okay, i'm gonna be honest with you man, I binged this yesterday, so my thoughts are a bit messy. The series was quite good, but, if you ignore the covid part, there wasn't much happening. Then again... you do have to take covid into account, so that point isn't very strong.
Overall it gave me this very feel good, cute, lovey dovey feeling, but the actors had very little chemistry. I could blame that on the way too prolonged stares that went for like two minutes every time. What was the deal with that?
Everything else tho? Very nice, the story was quite cute and there was very little drama, just some misunderstandings. I was silently screaming because they were so into each other, like some of the lines... man..
One thing that did bother me a bit was Chen's (i watched the series yesterday and already barely remember their names) pushiness. At some points I was like no, stop, respect the boundaries, even the little ones.
On a more positive note, my little bi heart fluttered when they showed actual representation of attraction to more than one gender. I have always absolutely hated the "oh, i'm only gay for him/her" trope, but here they showed very clearly that this character isn't just a confused, closeted gay boy, he's openly bi and not ashamed of it, even proud of it. And honestly? My little bisexual heart really needed it.

Love grows despite this pandemic

Despite the pandemic we were still given the opportunity to get to know ourselves. Through love and care so that we can cross the hope of having comfort. We are trapped without a railing but we have been given the opportunity to love. We can say that there is love that mediates between each individual. This series shows that only love can help us from the sadness caused by the pandemic. It also shows that love has no gender choice because love is equal and for all regardless of a gender that a person has.

KeyChen will return soon....
