Surprised with the low rating

This is actually quite a fine drama, surprised of the score given.
The theme is quite mature, most people used to the standard Rom-com but this drama really delivers.
Experienced casts rarely get it wrong.

Story - I think quite entertaining, mainly about married life, divorce & kids, family orientated story.
Cast - Main & Supports all very very good.... characters all brought value to the plot.

Standout stars for me.... I wont lie, I started watching this show for Lin Peng (she is a gorgeous actress - watched 2 of her dramas last year 'Hello, the Sharpshooter' & 'Stealth Walker'.... seriously this actress is unique, amazing..... without her, this drama would of scored lower....

Standout actor for me.... of course my man 'Eden Zhao'.... This guy is really unique.... I know i said the same about 'Lin Peng' hence happy they got paired, how often do you see two of your favourites paired?.... We got to see the best of both worlds.... I am happy Eden got to develop alongside a great actress such as Lin Peng....

Honorable mention.... Huang Can Can.... this girl is excellent too, reminds me of a Zhou Yutong.... She has a drama airing soon 'First Love Again' and who is the Male Lead?.... Zhou Da Wei.... Seriously these producers sometimes just get the pairings right....
- Lin Peng & Eden Zhou
- Huang Can Can & Zhou Da Wei

Last thing will say, pacing of this drama actually quite good

Was good but not one to watch over and over again.

Dang Youku and their stupid clips on Facebook! This show caught my attention because of the female lead. She was not one to be pushed around and I loved that about her. Most dramas you see that they get walked on but this one she was strong. Thank you!

Storyline - had me hooked! I waited and waited for the last 4-5 episodes in anticipation! My anticipation was in hopes that the husband would wake up from his self absorption and make up with his wife. Dang romantic side of me! What was I thinking???

I was really really hoping the husband would pull his head out and see what a great wife he had. It was sad to see that all he cared about was his “validation” in his job and what and who made him feel good about hisself. I cried when he did not drop everything and rush to the hospital. He almost lost his wife and possibly his children but his job was more important and so was his boss. Sad that even after she had the children he pretty much left her. Never visiting her or the children. Never helped her when they were sick or in the middle of the night when they cried. He was a selfish man! I kept thinking, “Dude! When are you going to wake up? When are you going to see what your are losing?!!??” It was hard to watch him fall so far. But… I felt the wife handled it like I would have. To bad he was dumb and blind. He lost his family because of his stupidity and selfishness.

I liked the end. I felt that they could work it out. I was glad to see that HE was the one that went back to get her and not the other way around. The hint was there and I feel satisfied that they will be on the road to getting back together.

I liked the story. I really did. They went through so much together. I liked his mom and yes even his sister. They were two of my favorites in the end.

Acting/Cast - I loved the ML/FL and the rest of the cast. I felt they did a great job. I have seen the FL before and I liked her in this one as much as her other dramas.

Rewatch - I liked it but I am not sure if I would rewatch it. If I did it might be 6 months to a year or so from now. It is not one that makes me want to see it over and over again. But it was a good watch.

#I’m Peng Guanying fan#

I really love this drama. It is realistic and It gives me sweetness, comedy, marriage life beauty as well as dark sides of human nature at the same time.
I know life is like this and also marriage like this. Ohh, full of struggle in this modern life to build up a stable life.
I am the actor fan and I love his acting very much. But I don’t like his character in this movie. Sucks!
I remember the script near the ending “Love is luxury. It’s not nessicity!” How odd! I hate this line.
Overall, this drama is worth to watch for me.

Is Marriage Necessary for the21st Century Woman?

This male lead was a pig from the beginning.....and remained a pig plus to the very end. There are many things a professional woman will tolerate...cheating and stupidity due to ego are not among those attributes in a man. "Love is a luxury" was the best line in the entire series. The 21st-century professional woman, unlike her sisters of previous generations, are well educated and financially independent. Both these aspects of our lives afford us options that our mothers and grandmothers did not have. So the real question in the 21st century is no longer tied to marriage for security.....but to the role, marriage does or does not have in our lives. Each woman makes this decision for herself as she pursues her authentic life. Ironically....these dramas are based on the old paradigm. This duality of female perspective is well developed in this series with insights of this transition in many of the comments of the mother-in-law. When she discussed her husband's adultery and her sacrifices to take care of the pig son lend s subtle set of ideas to wonder about in watching her son simply repeat the behaviors of the father.

Divorce is commonplace and most professional women globally, if the woman marries, once divorced, rarely remarry a second time. Unlike their male counterparts who are cutting a "filly" from the herd to marry as soon as their current marriage is in trouble and before the ink is dry on the divorce certificate, they are heading down the aisle to the alter again. It is always interesting that the rich full independent lives of these professional women in this drama didn't prove worthy enough of a continual season of stories. I guess dramas are not ready for the realities of the 21st-century woman. Cheers, Hope

Skip if you want to keep your sanity as a modern woman

Marketed at a romantic comedy, but quickly devolves into a poorly written family drama.

All characters are written to be caricatures with over exaggerated characteristics that don't make sense given their backgrounds. Smart working woman - an ace at her job but doesn't know how to date or find a good man. Easily convinced out of her values. Workaholic, chauvinistic computer programmer - thinks women should take care of the home while he brings home the dough, even though he was raised by a single mom with a career. Sees love as a programmable compatibility exercise. Young, rebellious sister - thinks that her older half-brother should just take care of her since her parents both died, despite that her father left him to be with her xiaosan mom. Older retired and divorced mom - lives life with a chip on her shoulder as she was left for a younger, prettier woman. Seeming strong and independent, but still holds a weird emotional tie to her ex and allows her son to disparage women's work.

Where's the logic? Why are these types of characters still written in 2022?! Dropped at episode 15 because the workplace harassment arc was too problematic to even touch with a 10 ft pole. The writers should be ashamed of themselves.
