Part 1: The Beginning of the Ride
Hi there! This review will solely be based on part 1.The beginning of the drama already showed me what I need to know, that this drama was going to be angst heavy. As I was readying myself for the ride, I felt pleasantly delighted by Dilraba’s character Yunhe. I admired that she was strong, that she earned her position as one of the top guardians of her valley. My initial perception of the FL changes a variety of times while watching part 1. One moment I’m in awe of her strength and the next I felt like the writers were giving her so much adversity but little character development.
I was interested in Allen Ren’s portrayal of Changyi however. I loved the special effects, the beautiful tail and I enjoyed seeing Changyi grow and change in temperament because of Yunhe. The chemistry was always there for me while watching the two leads on screen. Watching their romance develop slowly was one of the more interesting sides to part 1 because of it’s forbidden nature.
The cinematography, ost and costumes were all well done for me. I enjoyed watching how it played a part in the storytelling of TBW.
While I enjoyed some aspects of part 1, I expected more in character development from the FL and I wanted to see her gradually progress more towards becoming stronger. She struggles often in this season and when she doesn't, it happens so abruptly without a healthy medium.
Lastly, I felt like many things that may seem trivial but would help with our understanding of the characters, are hidden from the viewer as you watch part 1. You’ll know what to expect after watching episode 1, so I’d make a decision based on that episode on if this is the right drama for you.

boy what the heck
when i first heard about them filming this drama, i didn't expect it to be godly. re ba's acting is mid (my opinion don't come for me) and she's gonna be another fox?story:
well. this story is different than most other xian xia dramas, just because of the mermaid aspect. but while i was watching like two episodes of it everyday as it came out, i wasn't really excited and i wasn't like "ahh it's so good". but i've started it already so i might as well watch part two. there's a lotta xian xia dramas that top this one, so i wasn't really surprised or anything lol. i guess some of it is cool though. it has the basic plot of "i don't want you to die so i will sacrifice myself for you and not tell you anything and make you hate me so you aren't sad" which i'm so tired of seeing. can people start coming up with new ideas lol... this one was too similar to the long ballad, which i also. did not like very much. i think they have the same director? not sure, saw a couple clips on douyin.
acting/cast:
i already said that i don't think re ba's acting is very good so we can move past that. the dumb smiling annoys me lmao. but ren jia lun's historical drama look and acting skills are pretty decent i won't lie. he has the... (idk how to say this word in english but) 气质 that a historical drama male lead should have. i also recognized a lot of the cast from previous re ba and jia lun dramas.
music:
well. i usually like historical drama ost's but this ones also mid. i know mao bu yi sang one of them but idk it doesn't really hit different compared to other ost's.
rewatch value:
yeah i won't be rewatching lol
overall:
i know a lot of people like this one, it's decent... if you're bored and have nothing else to watch. if you want a good one to mess with your emotions that's also xian xia and has the "i dont want you to die so i will sacrifice myself" thing but on another level, watch love and redemption.

High expectations but eh what happened
Okay so the director made some great dramas. I think he was trying to go that direction with this as well however I feel that the screen writer just wasn’t right. The idea was there along with amazing cgi and great actors etc. But the content didn’t really match.I can see why others loved it but I sorta felt this was extremely slow and a bit repetitive. I feel that they could have done this entire series within the first half but there’s so many useless scenes and was just so slow. I took me awhile to finish this cause I just kept losing interest.
With ashes of love there were a lot of unnecessary episodes etc but it was written well and the side stories (most of them) and couples kept the drama going. This one well it just jumps around and then sorta tells one side then not really. Then there’s so much history going on between all the characters. I felt that they should of did a prologue instead of part 1 and 2 then finish it off with a combined part 2. This way it would have reduced the confusion with diff characters. The small flashbacks really didn’t help either.
The drama is a bit contradicting. I mean ML says all this stuff then does it the opposite. I don’t think the screen writer put enough thought into the process.
I don’t know if I recommend this but I feel like it would attract a younger audience not someone my age (mid to late 30s).
I did feel they did a good job with the jokes and puns. But you would need to know Chinese to get it.

The man so cute...
Yeay finally able to watched this with eng sub. Thanx to VIKI to provide us with full eng sub. But the bad thing about VIKI are, you can't download it nor you can up speed it. So yeah I watch this streaming & with normal speed.As usual every drama have + & -. Let's discuss them
The (+):
+ The Male character is so cute.... Chang Yi (CY), Li Shu (LS) or Kong Ming (KM) so cute when they have to deal with their love one. The pure CY at first, seeing Ren Jia Lun so cute like that really make me happy. The cutest of them all is when I see KM being 'cornered' by Luo Jin Sang / "Luo Luo" (LL), is really so cute and adorable....
+ Within time I really like how Ren Jia Lun choosing drama. Really hope he's not gonna fall into another boring drama, where he only have stone face. His smile is so adorable, really like to see his smile....
+ Like the chemistry between Dilireba & Ren Jia Lun. Even though they're not so much time together at this part, I can see they quite compatible
The (-):
- The story is so slow... I really hope I can watch this with at least 1.25 or 1.5 times speed
- Nothing new for Dilireba part... Same old same old
- They like 'forcing' everyone to get partner. Even like LL must get partner.. Although actually I quite like each other partner in the end.
Looking forward for the next part.

Visually lush and musically pleasing
Initially I imagined that with a super cast and a spectacular director the drama would be quite enjoyable, but the best word to describe this drama is disappointment.The biggest annoyance is the dubbing. I've never watched a Chinese drama where the dubbing was of such low quality. Some small errors are acceptable, but the amount of scenes in which the mouth and voice are not synchronized is exorbitant. It's unpleasant to watch a drama in which the mouth moves by the actress and the voice is by the actor and vice versa. There was a lack of care in the editing of the drama in this regard.
The script is not captivating, until the end of the first season did not say what it came to. The characters do not conquer, as they have ambiguous personalities. Until the final scene, I can't say precisely who is fighting for a just cause.
The performances are good, but far below others performed by the same actors. Regarding the romantic couples, I didn't feel any "chemistry" between them.
The CGI is impeccable, the soundtrack extremely pleasant and the costumes exuberant.
In short, I got to the end without having a single laugh and without shedding a single tear.
Perhaps in the second part the gaps will be closed and I will be able to praise the work of actors and director that I cherish so much.

Home is where our heart is...
The Blue Whisper was the very first drama that I waited for.I'm so excited when I heard Allen Ren Jialun and Dilreba Dilmurat were confirmed as Chang Yi and Ji Yunhe. Not only did I'm falling in love with the novel, but I also waiting for Allen and Dilireba to act in a wonderful drama.
The story, personally I love angst stories, so this is one of my favorite plots. And yes, the story is sad enough to make me cry a river. Although there are some little differences from the novel, but I really satisfied with the drama's plot. The differences made the drama perfect in their way.
I was afraid when the total episode didn't fit the story from the novel that was already beautiful. But now I really grateful to the crew to develop such a great story and didn't miss any important points.
Cast, Allen is one of my top favorite actors, his acting never disappoints me. How he portrays Chang Yi was perfect. The cute and innocent Big-tailed Fish, and the charismatic and admirable Beiyuan Master. Honestly, I was so excited when I know Allen joined this drama with Dilireba. I really looking forward to them.
I watched YAMG for killing time waiting for this drama, and I know Dilireba is the perfect Ji Yunhe for me.
And for Sa Ding Ding, she is stunning even in small character.
Music, with Sa Ding Ding, Zhou Shen, Mao Bu Yi, And Jin Zhi Wen, I know this drama will tear my heart for sure when I hear the drama OST. They are really amazing.
Rewatch value, I definitely recommend this drama to you, and I loved to rewatch it again, It's not easy to find Chinese drama that suits my taste very well like this.

Out of this world excellence.
Impressive is the level of thought that went into this storyline captivating viewers as it touched on so many emotional levels that one found themselves immersed as the tale unfolded alternately cheering, laughing, or crying at the depth of the portrayal; no easy feat for a fantasy. The artistry is unparalleled; no expense was spared. The cast, both main and supporting, outdid themselves in bringing their characters to life in both a believable and relatable fashion. Kudos to Ren Jia Lun and Dilraba Dilmurat especially; their acting skills and leadership qualities are superb. Thank you all for your dedication to your craft in presenting a memorable performance. This is one drama you will watch over and over again.Was this review helpful to you?

Too much heartache
The opening scene was eye catching with the storyline picking up as it unfolds until it hits a snag. The major flaw for me was the relationship between the two leads. The typical storyline of "let me sacrifice my happiness for the sake of mankind" while in the meantime their love relationship is nothing but lies, deception, pain and suffering. Cruelty for the sake of protection. This drama left me feeling unhappy and frustrated throughout the whole drama. Adding some blissful moments instead of constant pain and anguish would have been nice. I would not recommend this one unless you're okay with constant turmoil.Was this review helpful to you?

Dilraba Act's
I love the drama so much even, I did not understand, what are they talking, I still watch it until the end, at first i felt bored, but even though i don't understand it (because theres no english sub), u feel the emotion i feel that i can understand it even though, theres no translation. I like how reba, improve her acting skill and every year theres new about her acting... Still I hope next time her drama wont focus on romance. ?.For the other cast i did not now them, so I wont comment much on their act. But they did great job, specially the little fairy lou lou ?. She's one of my favourite character in the series.
I did not expect that I will cry a lot on this series, i mean i did cry on the novel, but I only expect that I'll cry only on yun he deaths, but since li shu died i start crying, then it happen, that lou lou and reba will be apart i cried again until the end it makes me cry ???.
But still it's. A good drama

The Legendary Odyssey Between Merman and Human
Whether it was the visuals/actors, storyline, or OST, everything about “The Blue Whisper” was effortlessly flawless. I originally came for Dilraba and Allen Ren, but I quickly fell for the rest of the cast and its amazing production overall. I would not regret watching this beautiful masterpiece.~~~
“The Blue Whisper” is about the love between a spiritual master and a merman- a love that should’ve not occurred in the first place. Ji Yun He has spent her entire life confined and restrained from freedom, being trapped to the Flower Valley by “invisible chains”. She has spent her years yearning for the day where she can finally leave. Chang Yi, on the other hand, is the crown prince of the East Sea. He is caught by the evil Fairy Shunde, and is sent to Flower Valley in order to be trained to become her attendant. Shunde orders that the merman must speak, break his tail, and present his merman pearl.
Surprisingly, Yun He treats Chang Yi unlike the others spiritual masters, and instead she is a much needed friend. Both are caged from freedom, and rely on one another for the hope that one day they will escape together. As both of them develop unexpected feelings for each other, more secrets about the world unravels.
~~~
What striked me first was the OST. My absolute favourite song in the whole drama is the opening song, and I have to listen to it every time I start a new episode. It was just so heavenly, and I always enjoy it so much. The other songs didn’t let down my expectations either, and I even found myself humming to them, every now and then.
The cast… it was almost perfect in every way. Dilraba did not let me down, as usual, and she surprised me very much throughout the drama, as I felt her development as an actress. Allen Ren, was just drop-dead-gorgeous, and his acting skills definitely lived up to his looks too. I also felt a ton of chemistry between the two main leads. Additionally, the rest of the cast was also very talented and good-looking, so that was a huge bonus.
As the drama progressed, I fell deeper into its story and could not stop binging it whatsoever. It was very well written, so kudos to the author, and I felt completely engrossed in its special effects and production as well.
I would recommend “The Blue Whisper” for anyone who’s looking for an exciting, addicting and astonishing fantasy drama. I’m so excited to start Part Two! ^^
