Tuesday morning, the Vice President is visiting the bank to see if everything is working fine at his fathers` business. His real intentions, though, is to steal some money from the safe to repay a debt. At the same time, three bank robbers are digging a hole under the safe to get into the bank unnoticed. But unfortunately for them, the VP surprises one of them while he was escaping with the money. The VP beats up the guy and takes the bag full of money and decides to take the suspect to the police station himself. After a few minutes, the police show up at the bank and decide to take the VP and the suspect to the police station for interrogation. It turns out that these policemen are in fact also bank robbers who just adjusted to a new plan. They decide to keep the VP in a hideout and ask for a ransom instead. Do all these events happen by pure chance or someone really planning everything to commit "Jakarta?" Which means: "The Perfect Crime." Edit Translation

Not a bad crime/comedy movie

Watched this when I was in the mood for something fun and light. At first it seems that the story is going to be dark and cynical. But by the end you realize it’s not the case. (Ok, maybe it’s a bit cynical). Can’t really say too much about the plot without spoiling too much. It’s enough to know that it’s a heist movie.

The humour is plays a big part here. Some jokes worked and some didn’t. But enough of them worked in the end.

Lastly, this movie is quite old. Production values have increased a lot in twenty years!
