Textile dealer Koseki Seiichi (Funahashi Gen) is believed to have disappeared with Tadokoro Tsuneko (Nanao Reiko ), but two months later, only the corpse of a woman was found on Mount Akagi, and the whereabouts of the man are still unknown. Koseki's wife, Nobuko (Nobuko Otowa), goes to Akagiyama with his cousin Shunkichi (Masaya Takahashi), and sails out over Lake Onuma in the thick fog, where Nobuko is told a surprising confession.
