Seon Yu’s father left this world with a large debt from his business. Mother and 12-year-old Seon Yu are trying to move to a new place and have new start. Seon Yu, once bullied by friends, seems to be adjusting to the new school. She is excelling at school, is good at drawing, and making new friends. Especially, she gets a lot of attention from prankster Jeong Guk. By the time Seon Yu’s life, which cast a dark shadow, is gradually brightening up, her grandmother comes to school to collect her father’s death benefit and makes a scene. Everyone at school starts to learn about Seon Yu’s situation. Please Don’t Save Me begins with the social issue of parents making extreme choices with their children due to economic poverty but serves as a family film as the heart of the story is the child. Acute social issues have become somewhat dull through the eyes of the child, but they seem to have a much greater advantage in terms of consensus. After all, the only way to prevent misjudgments of those who have difficulties is from a warm heart and interest. This is effectively delivered through Jeong Guk’s pure love for Seon Yu. I'm An Emotional Wreck :,)

I don't know if I can even write a proper review right now. I spent a lot of the movie sobbing (note: but I also cry easily) so if you're looking for a light movie, this is not it. I describe why I rated certain categories the way I did in the next 2 paragraphs, but if you want to read me gushing over this movie, skip to the last paragraph.

In terms of the acting: I don't know anything about acting, but considering how much of a mess I am right now, I'd say the cast did an incredible job. The main characters were absolutely charming, and I couldn't help but sympathize with them and fall into their storylines. I also never felt like anything was cringy, overacted, or underacted, which I sometimes feel with korean movies.

I watched the movie without english subs, and I'm not fluent in korean, so I took a point off for plot just because I can't be a proper judge of it. But don't get me wrong: what I did understand was excellent. The storyline was cohesive and immersive, I didn't find any gaping plot holes, and I thought everything worked together beautifully. The music tied in seamlessly with the movie, so I can't say if it was particularly good or bad, but there was one song that a character sung that, if you know the lyrics, fits perfectly in the scene. The only reason the rewatch value is low is because I don't know how I'd be able to compose myself enough to watch this movie again.

tldr: I HIGHLY recommend you watch this movie. Highly, highly, highly. It was beautifully shot, beautifully acted, and beautifully composed. I don't know how to properly express my love for this movie without giving spoilers, but I really, really hope that you watch this.

Really Great movie to watch

I really enjoyed this movie and i was waiting so long for the Subs to come out which it finally did. I am so glad i waited because i loved the movie, it was really sad yet so beautiful. I love how the the children were able to become such good friends despite the massive differences in their lives. I was however quite confused by how forgetful the mother was, but maybe it was a way to show how she was losing hope.
Everything about this movie was so good, especially the ending, i highly recommend it.
