Don't waste your time... Watch Kill It.

This kind of story is a common trope in a lot of drama plots, if done correctly it can be amazing. Whats lacking in this one is not the acting as such, but the amount of plot holes in the actual scenes. Not only that, but there is a lack of suspense built up into each episode, as well as poor timing in the character development, and a lack development for the most part. Some scenes pointless, andthere is too many breadcrumbs, making the motive so predictable. The way the characters themselves are portayed often mirrors the excessiveness of japanese dramas. Rather than wasting your time on this, watch Kill It or A Smile Has Left From Your Eyes. Those two were much better.

I thought i was gonna be disappointed but i wasn’t.

I'm not gonna lie, i was really shocked the moment pildo was killed and even a little disappointed but as i finished the whole drama i realized that sadly not every story has a happy ending. still, i was satisfied that she could get revenge for the death of those she loved and trusted the most in her life. her strength is no joke and i'm not even talking about her body but her mind. making the decision to kill him and live for the rest of her life with the thought of being a monster for doing everything she have done is not easy.
as of for the ending itself, i did felt like a lot of things were kept in the middle. i wanted to see how she got to get away with the murder and everything else and i was really hoping to see the captain's reaction to mujin's death.

even so, i can't say that i didn't enjoyed this history. it was catch and every moment had me really thrilled about what was going to happen. the whole story, acting and all the action of it were really amazing, such a great production. han sohee did proved the amazing actress she is and honestly i'm not disappointed with the ending even though i wish there were more details on some stuff. kudos to ahn bohyun and park hee-soon acting. i know that it isn't easy to detail every part of the story so i can say they ended up doing a good job.

i thought i was gonna be disappointed but i wasn’t. this whole drama was indeed amazing.

8 hours of Female John Wick Absolutely Beating A**

Phenomenal action choreography, compelling story, great soundtrack and just an incredibly talented cast of actors.
Literally 95% of the cast is hot too. I could pause this show in any scene and be treated to a gorgeous frame of cinema containing at least one beautiful person at any given time. This show is a Tall Glass of Water quenching my T H I R S T
Highly recommended if you love revenge, gangsters, violence, hot people, and a great fast-paced, escalating plot with insane fights! As i said in the title, its like watching 8 hours of a John Wick origin story.

I loved it though its basic

The plot is very basic revenge story but the execution is so good and her character is somehow very unique. She acted so well, I could feel the emptiness the main lead felt, it's like I could see her through her eyes, I loved it so much, I binged watched it, couldn't stop thinking about what will happen next. Also, I didn't notice any male gaze scene, which made it so much better, cause that would have ruined it. And the story is truly about her, it just felt so refreshing and so worth watching. I said the story is basic, but it is actually like really interesting too, hard to explain,.

Drama, Your Name is Disappointment

Spoiler-free advice:
I'd say watch this if you're in a mood for something simple but action-y that you can easily binge bc it's only eight episodes and it's on Netflix. Also, if you're a fan of tomboyish female leads. Don't expect a great plot or performances. I went through it in one go even though I pretty much guessed the entire plot and it was still entertaining enough.

There are some spoilers in the following:
I don't really want to write a long review so here are
a few quick points.
It felt draggy at the start and then suddenly rushed af so the pacing sucked.
The romance felt forced to me; I mean, the guy disliked her and then he was all about her suddenly and she showed barely any emotion ever, so no real buildup really. I guess all they cared about was cramming that in so when they kill him off five minutes before the end it would have an impact (it didn't).
The plot was completely predictable and I more or less fgured it all out by episode 3 (or maybe even sooner). Also, it made zero sense to me that no one from the force did anything for her after her father's death. I mean none of them even came to his funeral ? ? ? That whole double life thing is a huge stretch for me. How can you half ass the part that's literally supposed to carry your whole drama, I don't get it.

I think this would have made a decent (and if they fixed the predictable plot maybe even good) full length action drama. As it is it's an "I'm bored and have hours to kill what's on Netflix" drama at best.

It could have been something...

I went into this series blind, drawn solely by the presence of Han So Hee and Ahn Bo Hyun, with zero expectations. Unfortunately, I still found myself underwhelmed—it was just okay. I don’t have any strong feelings about it, neither positive nor negative.

One of the biggest disappointments for me was Ahn Bo Hyun’s character, who came across as incredibly bland. He seemed to lack any real presence, almost as if he existed solely to serve as the female lead’s love interest. Ugh, the unnecessary romance!

Surprisingly, at one point, I found myself more invested in Park Hee Soon’s character than in the female lead. His portrayal was intimidating and charismatic, and I found myself rooting for him! I’m sorry, but I couldn’t care less about the female lead’s plan for revenge against her father’s wrongdoings. All I wanted was for the bad guy to live and thrive.

The way the storyline moves is amazing and satisfying

I began watching this drama based on the sole reason that it contained just 8 episodes... But trust me by the end I was yearning for more episodes... because this was so so good and worth the watch... there are many heart wrenching scenes which still make me cry to this date .... the female lead portrays a strong women character and as always han so hee has done an amazing performance... whereas the male lead was just... what do we say perfection✨... the casting was in point ... and the storyline is worth giving it a try ...

probably a good drama i've watched in a long time

I loved this drama so much, it was really interesting. What I hated so much was that we (the viewers) expected her to kill her dad's murderer more "better" like the ending was a bittersweet ending. I was pretty disappointed when I saw that she only just killed her dad's murderer like that not putting that much energy into it. also what I hated, even more, was that pildo died. a lot of people are saying it was unnecessary and I get how they think that but I think it was pretty needed for the story to end correctly. I'm not saying I liked that he died, I was also pretty disappointed because they were getting closer and their relationship was getting better. but they just killed him off like that.

i loved it (im terrible at reviewing dramas tho, it's usually the actors that are important to me)

story:
it was a little different than what netflix had wrote that it was. i didn't expect so much bloody gang stuff, but i'm not like complaining about it or anything. i thought that it was going to go into further detail about her life before her father was killed, but it all happened really quick. i guess that's what you get from an eight episode drama... also the last fight was kinda boring since i've already watched like a bunch of fight scenes in the drama, although it was pretty fun to see choi moojin think that he was going to win when the gun didn't have a bullet in it.

- mini rant:
why did jeon pildo have to die... i know the romance was so random between him and jiwoo but i was literally waiting for something to happen that whole time. his death was so random too... i mean maybe the director was thinking that his death would cause jiwoo to "go crazy" but it was out of nowhere. he was the only reason i wanted a s2 but since he died im not sure id want one, or at least if a s2 were to be filmed i don't want to see another romantic relationship happen between jiwoo and some other guy.

acting/cast:
THE ACTING WAS SO GOOD, han sohee is definitely one of my favorite female actors. i bet she had to do a lotta fighting training for this, there were so many fighting scenes (they were all so intriguing). i recognized a couple of the actors from other kdramas like itaewon class.

music:
ngl i dont really pay attention to the music unless it's a historical drama... so no comment.

rewatch value:
since i just finished the drama, i'm not sure if i'll rewatch it. i might think about it in the future but as of rn idk.

overall:
amazing drama, still pissed that jeon pildo died.

Full on Revenge & Action

The plot is simple. Yoon Ji Woo wants revenge. She will do anything to kill the person who destroyed her life. She was determined in the goal till the end. She is strong, brave, & good with fighting.

But the story was predictable from the beginning; I know who is the real villain. It could've been good if Jeon Pil Do was more into the story. One good thing about the story is there is no side story going on; it focuses mainly on the female lead.

I loved Han So Hee acting as vengeance women. She did great in the action sequences.

It would've been better if they explained what happened to Yoon Ji Woo. They never clearly shown her ending properly.

The drama features intense and well-choreographed action scenes. Loved the action scenes.

To what extent are you willing to go to get revenge?

A short drama built on vengeance.

The narrative of the story has a fairly basic revenge plot line; the main character seeks revenge for the death of her father. What makes the story somewhat unique imo is the determination of the protagonist and her depiction of a character who lives in pure agony and resentment for her father's killer (and the world for that matter). Han So Hee did an excellent job in portraying her character and she embodies the persona that is Jiwoo flawlessly and with precision.

“The plot twist” of the saga, however, was not precisely a “shocker” and was more or less predictable. The one she trusted the most turned out to be lying to her. And her father's killer was right in front of her this whole time. Which is exactly what had happened to Moo Jin, the one he trusted the most was lying to him all along. What goes around comes back around ig.

However, with all the turbulence aside, they both cared for each other deeply. Moo Jin could have let her go from the beginning, but he saw the persistence and boldness inside of her and decided to put it to use instead. However horrible that might be, he took care of his betrayal of a friend's daughter, when he couldn’t. He protected her and taught her how to protect herself.

In the end, she got what she wanted all along but maaaan what price she had to pay. She lost the only happiness she had found after her father died. And from that salty ending.. will she ever find peace? Is she at peace with herself? And what life will she be living now when her life's purpose has been “fulfilled”?
