Warm and Fuzzy, but.....

Watching Binary Love made me feel fuzzy inside. The love between the main leads were organic and it genuinely made sense. The male lead's boldness added to his quirky charm, seeing that he was socially awkward, but courageous in love. The story developed a one-track man into someone who is foolish in love. All while this story is great, it may be worth for the male lead solely.

Dont get me wrong, the female lead was a good lead, but she was kind of flat. In the earlier episodes she seemed to be charming, but as the story progressed her character began to lack dimension. She began a generic female lead that you could find in many other dramas. The plot was great, but it was not in any way due to the female lead.

There was also the UNNECESSARY second male lead and the even more unnecessary third male lead. The second male was inevitable, seeing that he's on the promo cover, but his story went on until the bitter end. He was simply not someone you could route for. At the beginning the series his character was enjoyable because it added some drama, but he quickly became a very annoying entitled man who doesnt know his boundaries. I was fed up wifh him halfway through the show and his forceful behavior towards the female did not end until the bitter end.

And then the show introduced a third lead, who liked the female lead for no reason at all. It was very random and the male didnt even pay him mind, so the third lead was just there for fun I guess. And again the female barely has any depth, so its hard to believe that three men would be chasing after her.

But all in all, this showed had some powerful friendships that were entertaining. The second couple is honestly so cute. And the male lead is adorable, Ren YouLun did a great job acting out his role, and honestly he's the main reason the show was enjoyable.

If you can get passed someone of the negatives i have mentioned this was a good watch. But i have to say it was more entertaining the first episodes then it sort if fell off.

Geometry, abs and lots and lots of people who need to learn about boundaries.

Watching this drama is like watching a collection of more or less every trope available for a c-drama but without the Rio and the cruel grown ups as I am sure you could fill a whole game brick of cliches and stuff you have seen before. The use of water in this show is as overwhelmingly beautiful as the use of abs as the show has a variety of umbrellas, drowning and people caught in the rain, the scenes themselves are not really special but the umbrellas are innovative, gorgeous and given the love they deserve, caught in slow mo and what not.

The male lead is more or less he typical god with a one track mind and complete lack of understanding of the word consent as he forces his kisses on the female lead more than once as well as pretty much stalkes her both online and IRL just to be near her (without the whole imagining stuff and violent tendencies) as this guy is very much aware of her not wanting him to get close to her. The guy does however do all from stalking her online, follow her from behind and go wherever she goes and collect mementoes of their interactions... Lovely to watch but so many red flags mayday in china seems flaggless... Still the guy does have a pure heart and good intentions that will make you forget all that... Oh and his voice sounds like a 45 year olds...

That and the second male lead is even worse when it comes to boundaries, respect and reading the room... it seems his job in this drama is to show off his abs (yes he shows them in about 80% of his scenes). And is there to annoy the audience and make us forget all the flags shown by the male lead, as chances of getting SLS in this show are slim to none. I am sure the writer loved abs as she wrote in a whole lot of scenes where the potential love threats, friends and whoever could got their abs shot from a bunch of angles and close up (including the male leads) . In short the writer seemed to love abs, geometry, and water...

The ML roommates are dumb and dumber, annoying most of the time and only there to prolong the show. The FL roommates are kind of meeh but the friendships over all in this are nice, especially the female friendships who have few traces of jealousy and seem more supportive than the typical C.

The female lead is mostly cool and pretty decent, she is not super stupid, and is rater a girl who with the right help from the ml can do anything,,, she does however seem a tad oblivious, defensive and while she keeps telling people she is not that vulnerable, people seem to treat her as someone in need of constant protection ... Which feels a bit (a lot) out dated.

The second couples female is called persistent... I would call her lacking boundaries, needs to learn about consent and how to take a no... The guy here is however pretty good looking, and the type who seemingly needs that type of girl... yes very out dated indeed...

Annoying characters: A lot
Consent:What is that?
Trust: What is that?
Communication: What is that?
Abs: 999999
Water:99999
Bingabilaty: 9

All this said, it was pretty entertaining most of the time so it gets 8 for entertainment and abs...

This was lowkey Annoying, but Surprisingly Good.

Chinese youth dramas are my guilty pleasure. I love them, can't get enough of them, so I decided to dive into this one. The drama is absolutely annoying, but still good at the same time. The annoying part? ML is such a simp behind the FL. He follows her EVERYWHERE. I mean, I guess some girls would find that heart fluttering, but to me it was just plain ole annoying. He didn't give this girl a chance to breathe. Like at all. Even I was overwhelmed with all the attention. Next, the FL literally brought nothing to the table. Sure she was this cool tom boyish type and I'm glad they didn't make her dumb or helpless, but while the ML was seriously dedicated to her, from her side, it actually just looked as if she gave in and just said "fuck it." She was literally the stone faced, cold hearted type that you mostly see from the MLs and she stayed the same till the end. Then if you're going to dive into this series, prepare for the most ANNOYING love rival. The man stayed til the bitter end. Like LITERALLY. He was the last scene of the drama and STILL pining after the FL even though she's ,married and pregnant. She told him no, but nobody set any boundaries with this guy, especially the ML. He keeps seeing this guy pestering his woman and before he tells the guy "yo back TF up", he just stays on the sideline watching it all go down. Then the writers acted like they didn't know what else to do for the final four episodes, so they decided to bring in ANOTHER guy to fall for the FL. Let me tell you, this chick was as basic as they can get and boring, but yet THREE guys were total simps for her. The side characters were great though. I loved the friendships between the girls and the boys. It wasn't a bad drama, lots of kisses and funny moments, but just be prepared to be annoyed with some scenes.

Refreshing and youthful cute

This is definitely different from other romcoms where the leads have some trauma from past experience. Here male chases fl first and it is cute.Only thing i hated was the sml chasing fl even after she rejects him and disturbing the time between male and female lead

PLOT
This is a campus based story where even when ml helped fl in studies she not a typical character where she is dumb but here her character is portrayed beautifully.I found the sml a little bit annoying as the fl lead let him come between the ml and fl relationship.

l loved the way they characterized the ml and fl .Fl trying out various different objects that is helpful in daily life i found it a little cute and funny especially the umbrella to escape from the rain and the toe protector. But it was little draggy through the second half of the series.Second male lead chasing the FL till the last end and female lead being quite wavy.

I loved the way ml chased fl and fl even though the kiss were non consensual she neither questioned the ml nor get into relationship. The friends of male lead and the female lead and the way they helped the male lead chase the female lead.

The second female lead(Ye Ru Ting) chasing Xie Duan Xi was very cute and adorable and i personally loved that couple Xie duan xi chasing boldly and going after him to the farms was lovely.

CAST/ACTING
Both the leads were very cute and appealing.

REASONS TO WATCH
-Cute and lovely with non toxic relationship
-Great friendship between the leads
-Supportive family
-Male chasing female
-Engaging secondary couple
-Healthy mains relationship

REASONS TO NOT WATCH
-Irritating and stalking second male lead
-Annoying love triangle

If you ask me honestly it is worth watching. The actors did a great job and was good even though this isn't a high production series. This is definitely worth trying.

It was fine, but I couldn't watch it again

The main couple are sweet enough together, though she needs to put a lot more work into their relationship, are he carries it completely. He makes all the effort, physically and emotionally. Like he hops on a plane to be with her for the evening after she heads off without so much as a text to let him know. She forgot, but the forgetting itself is the issue, as it shows how little she values him. He is a constant in her life that she takes for granted and he deserves better. Like how many failed proposals does it take to realise she doesn't value his time?
The tennis player was just a stalker and if I didn't have a compulsion to finish everything I watch he would've made me drop the show. He was super creepy right up to the last scene, and I can't fathom why he was allowed to come to the wedding. Therapy and a restraining order for that guy. FL was only likeable sometimes, and her friends were pretty poor. MLs friends were wonderful. The boss was a pervert, and an awful boss.
I set the rewatch value super low because that tennis player was painful to watch. I skipped everything with him and the pervert boss from about episode 19 onwards because they both made me so so uncomfortable. Those two characters are not safe to be around and I couldn't force myself to watch them stalk FL again.

A Straight Boy Fell In Love With His Childhood Friend

Binary love ?
Adapted from the novel "Peking University Students" (北大“差”生) by Po Po (破破) (aka Po Nao Dai (破脑袋 ).

▫️Opinion
~ Must watched this drama if you’re liking ‘Our Secret’, ‘Forever Love’ & ‘A Love So Beautiful’.
~ For me, I loved this drama since the flow of the drama really meets with my preferences.
~ The beginning of the story where both ML & FL were childhood friends then they’re growing up together, go to the same school (even after that they’re parted) and later they met at the same university. It was a bit cliché but since this was a drama so that was okay.
~ FL was a tomboy and she likes to be independent and doesn’t need people to stand for her but ML was a protective boy since he likes her first and care about her most of the time. He also helps with her study in order to enter the university.
~ At the first episode, it was a bit boring since they’re in their high school. But when they’re go to university, the story started to get interesting.
~ I like the most about this story because of second couple, Ruting and Xie Duanxi. They’re so cute and I supports when a woman makes her first moves when she fallen in love with a man.
~ It was also good to see because FL has a great friendship with her roommate. They doesn’t argued or dislike each other. Her roommates also good since they don’t get jealous toward FL for her love life & careers. They also support and helping each others.
~ The most annoying part is about SML. He fell in love with FL and doesn’t give up on her until the last episode. It was so sad since the writer makes him to become a sad boy even he was handsome and a good tennis player. For me, the writer should makes him give up in earlier episode so that he doesn’t have to be a sad boy.
~ The drama was quite short and it’s covered with everything (even the marriage ceremony) so it was a great and beautiful story.

▫️Cast
~ Zhou Linlin was a cute and tomboy woman. She preferred to do everything on her own and she likes to design a things. She was a positive person and she always makes people around her comfortable and liking her. Even her styles was a bit weird since she likes to wear tshirt and short pants, but three man fall for her. It’s doesn’t makes sense but it’s okay since she was a little cute with her dimples.
~ Fang Yuke was a straight man who only has Zhou Linlin in his heart. He was intelligent and clever man since he gots his second degree without need to finish his first degree firsthand. To me, he’s not handsome nor smart but he was a gentleman. He cares about people he loves and always makes them happy. He also built his own company and got a house and a car. He can be a good husband for Zhou Linlin.
~ Yuting was a pretty and rich woman who doesn’t know how to deal with a person. She fallen in love with her first sight towards Xie Duanxi and makes her moves to flirt with him. Even though she doesn’t succeed at first but since she doesn’t know how to give up, later she successfully makes Xie Duanxi fallen in love with her. She was so nice to her roommates and always gave them a gift when she came to dorm. She was really suitable with Xie Duanxi and I support this couples.
~ Xie Duanxi was a handsome and clever man. He was a botanist and always focused on his experiment. He doesn’t have a time to date and meet with people. He also doesn’t know how to love so he doesn’t treats Yuting as an important part of his life. Later, he fallen in love with Yuting and started to pursue her. They’re so cute and pretty when they’re together.

▫️Summary
I think this drama was sweet enough for the audiences to watch and repeat. It’s has so beautiful and great storyline and casts. You can see how they grow, how they fallen in love and how they treat their friends. The drama also ended with the lovely ending since FL and ML has been married. They also got a baby even they doesn’t showed it.

So, I’m really recommended to you to watch this drama.

This was a sweet and fun drama to watch. It isn’t anything really different from your typical rom com, but I love the ML and FL and was excited to see them together. ML is charming and charismatic and one of my favorites. He's got the best micro expressions and is that good looking guy you might actually meet in real life. FL is adorable with her dimples and girl next door vibe. I love couples that stick together through thick and thin and this drama definitely delivers that.

The main issue I had with this drama was the SML. Only in Chinese drama land is it okay to try and steal someone else’s girlfriend without getting a big fat lip!! I keep wondering if it’s a cultural thing but it makes no sense that everyone is fair game until their officially married. Drama tries to make us feel sorry for SML (cue the sad music) but how do you feel bad for someone that is a home-wrecker (and he’s not even the “childhood friend”)?!

Overall though the sweetness and chemistry between the leads kept me watching. It was an easy and fun watch especially if you want a break from a lot of angst or drama.

Romance-centered Youth Drama

There are many sweetness in this drama that sometimes I can't resist. This is the kind of drama that makes me smile, cringe and sometimes laugh. Their chemistry between the leads is really great. The couple as "giver-receiver". Fang Yuke really gave everything to Linlin. Love Triangle isn't really strong in this drama. Wentao is a persistent person to persuade FL make me annoyed sometimes.

The things I liked:
- Delight side characters
- 2nd Couple, a nice boyfriend and a cool girlfriend
- I don't know if this is a drama using a voice actor or original voice, but I like their dubbing..

The things I didn't liked:
-The story kinda flat. There aren't misfortune things which will show their flaws in the characters. The drama lacks their character's personal story and makes the character look really bland.
-Some problematic scene to me

Binary love is history

The story is quite calm without so many dramas, there is not a very strong love triangle, what teaches us the most is self-care, trust both in a relationship and in ourselves. We need more stories like this with that touch of sweetness and affection that makes us relive our time as students, where they make us believe more in love, a love that is born from a student stage until when you finally develop professionally.

The two couples seemed quite cute to me, although I would have liked that the friends of the main characters could develop their own story, it is really worth it, when you feel that you no longer have to see this story, it is the right one.

Its soundtrack is very moving, it transmits that message of the story, it goes along with the story, it makes us imagine a love

Annoying love triangle

Imagine one guy- his whole secondary school and now uni life, doting and following around the girl he likes. Does he not have anything else to do? How about study, play sports, get a life, have an ambition??

Then comes the love rival- another guy who also has nothing else to do but follow the girl and try to get close to her like a little puppy. And the FL!! She knows... SHE KNOWS that both guys like her and she’s just stringing them along like a chew toy. The love triangle is sooo annoying. All the friends and roommates are also centred on the FL.. a very boring storyline. I was hoping it would get better. And just when you think the story will improve, the annoying 2ML starts his crazy stalker nonsense again. Seriously, what trash script is this?? I was so done. Enough. I just skipped to the last episode and even that was disappointing.

The music is not memorable at all. Unfortunately I just dropped this. Really not worth your time. NEXT :)

Decent story ruined by a creepy SML

This would be a nice drama if SML was a bit different. He is incredibly annoying and really needs a therapist. Only a woman with severe SML syndrome might like that creep.

Even though ML did some potentially questionable things, I never felt bad because of any of them, but even a simple sentence from SML made me angry more than once.

ML never forcibly kissed FL, as some people wrote in comments and reviews. She was just surprised and confused, but she didn’t t even try to reject the kiss; she even kissed him back. No means no, but this was something else.

The COVID pandemic part was nicely written.

You might like this drama very much if you have a good stomach that can stand the SML. Unfortunately, I can't. Rewatch value is absolute zero for me only because of him.

Fun young adult drama

Just finished watching this drama. Endearing storyline with the main leads knowing each other since they were little and the ML loving her since then while the FL didn't know her feelings until much later. There's also a cute second couple in the story. But my main complaint is the SML who is like the annoying bug that won't go away. He started out as part of the usual love triangle. But eventually it just became bizarre because after the FL made it clear that she wasn't interested, he didn't give up. He kept pursuing her so it became annoying. And then towards the middle, they added a third character that became interested in her which didn't make any sense. I get that they want to keep the story interesting by creating conflict, but I think they could have come up with a more interesting way of doing this than just creating more male competition. For the most part, I enjoyed the series. But I did find myself skipping over some of the parts.
