Is it possible to tell a love story without exaggeration or cliche? What about a romance without drama, just about 'my' and 'your' body, some love, and the hours we spend together, will it make a compelling film? Hye Young is a typical work of Kim Yong Sam, who has shown that film should be shot by one person like a play which breathes in the rhythm of one's mundane life. This film depicts a vacation in the drowsy summer days where little happens, a cute couple seemingly of a sadist and a masochist, a small room, the promises, jokes, fights, talks, and sweet-bitter dreams just between the two. Hye Young begins like an empty joke, then goes through mischievous yet sweet laughs to become a blue, faint dream. It is a strange and unique love story to remember bright, ardent love as well as a sad story of breakup with heavy, hollow heart. (Source: JIFF) Edit Translation
