Cute
It’s not a BL. I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the relationship that he had with his family. This is a story of being out and proud. Don’t hide who you are or you and others can get hurt. I enjoyed how the shoes the scary parts of trying to be honest and to tell the truth. It’s not easy even in this day in age.I enjoyed the dancing and the music. The song they dance to is pretty catchy. There were quite a few funny parts. He has a great relationship with his friends and like I said his family.
I would watch it again. It’s a quick watch.

It's Boyette and not Boyet
It's a story of a feminine gay accepted by their family but pretends to be straight at school because of a homophobic best friend. It's not a BL story. It's the story and adventure of Boyette in college. It's not solely focused on the gay hardship in society but also family importance, and making and fulfilling a dream. I watched it without expectation so I was really surprised by the story. It is mainly comedy and not drama and romance, so it will not cater to many viewers. The whole movie was full of slapstick comedy, they make exaggerated movements. Sometimes the comedic acts are funny but sometimes they are not. Also, sometimes it is funny because it is really not a funny joke. I just laughed and sometimes cried while watching the whole movie.
If you just want to laugh, I think you can try this movie

On the one hand, comedy, "Asian comedy" - loud, affected, theatrical, convulsive, fake acting, you don't believe anything in the actors. Where Asians laugh, Europeans often just stare and those with less strong nerves turn off. I have to admit that in the beginning, even I had the urge to turn it off and forget about this pinoy idiot right away.
On the other hand, when you try further, suddenly a rather deep thought jumps out of the film "if I was already born this way and I don't change it, I can change those who perceive me to accept me as I am". And suddenly the film takes on a completely different dimension. I began to perceive the main character's acting performance quite well and also the fact that Maris Racal in the role of Nancy looks really good and does not remind me of an Asian woman at all.
I had to significantly increase the overall tone of the film because of the "message" that the film conveys, the acting and the music...

I LOVE BOYETTE
This will make you forget that we are in the middle of the pandemic. The casts, staff, and crew all did well. The casting is perfect ! This is superb and Zaijian Jaranilla never fails us with his honesty and genuity in portraying his role as Boyette. Truly an amazing young actor. This movie will make you laugh, cry, ask yourself and your individuality and to accept and love others amd your family by first accepting and loving yourself first. Hope this will have a Book 2 soon more adventures of Boyette post pandemicWas this review helpful to you?
