Sweetest mini drama of time traveling prince to the modern day !

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! This drama was a mini drama with each ep being about 12 mins, and a total of 18 episodes. This is how you do a drama! this drama was so cute, drama free, good chemistry between the leads!

At first glance the male lead isn't very handsome but he kinda grows on you :) Male lead is a prince from the ancient times. He faces his brother trying to kill him. He somehow transports to the modern day through a notebook he has. He transports and meets the female lead who is a manager to celebrities. She is in a need of a new one to star in a drama and he's the perfect fit!. on the other hand there is the second lead who is the female lead's boss. She some how writes in the prince''s notebook that she wants to fall in love and she finds herself in a bed with the boss. So its basically a love triangle lol. Of course she and the male lead live with each other and she teaches him the things in the modern world ( cliche lol ) They slowly fall in love.

This mini drama is well done in the fact that the leads has INCREDIBLE AMOUNT of chemistry and passion! man some steamy kisses and a lot of it! for such a short drama

Nothing too dramatic in the sense of revenge, schemes etc( I mean eventually the prince's brother also transports but its acceptable because that isnt the main focus)

It focused on one aspect, which was developing their relationship!

The songs are cute!

Definitely would recommend!!

Time-travelled Prince In Modern Era, Cliché Rom-Com

I started this web drama with very low expectations. Surprisingly it was quite good. A mysterious notebook fulfills Fu Bao's wish that she had written in a drunken state. On her birthday the wish came true. But prince Li Ming Shi appeared in front of her and claimed the notebook to be his. Fu Bao takes advantage of the Prince's situation and casts him as an actor in her drama. While Wei Lei, the boss of Fu Bao starts to pursue her. Time travelled prince faces difficulty to adapt the modern life style. Facing all these Fu Bao & Ming Shi fall in love. Suddenly Ming Shi's brother appears in the modern world in order to kill Ming Shi for power.
The drama had 18 episodes and the running time was approximately 10-11 minutes. In such a short time they conveyed the story pretty well. The drama had a lot of clichés but luckily it didn't get laggy. The chemistry between the leads were good. The couple seemed natural. If you're not a fan of clichés, fluffy romance then this is not for you.
As a web drama, considering running time this one is pretty good. I would have rated 7.6 or 7.7 but as it's not possible I'm gonna rate this a 7.5.

A short and sweet web drama

Completed - 4/2/2022

"Emperor or Boss" is a cute, light-hearted and short romance web drama. This is a great stress-reliever if you want to just enjoy the ride and not think too much. As long as you lower your expectations and not expecting a big budget production, it's an easy and binge-able watch.

It has:
1) Good-looking leads
2) Decent chemistry
3) Decent acting + expected a little over-the-top acting
4) No angst, no misunderstanding, no annoying characters (maybe annoying FL dubbing/voice)
5) Love triangle that is somewhat funny and not annoying
6) Plenty of decent kisses after the leads got together

I watched the drama on MangoTV YouTube Channel with Chinese subs. I do not recommend watching the drama there. MangoTV YouTube channel is notorious for blocking out music and sounds. I should have known better. Instead, try the Idol & Romance or Fresh Drama YouTube Channels with English subs instead.

Not bad

Story was similar to the drama which is based on parallel world's story concept. But still not felt boring by watching it. Yes ,I agreed first few episodes were bored but as soon as the love story was started it was automatically sound interesting. Ending concept was also very nice to meet them .
Drama should second season .
Very cute story as well chemistry between the leads.
Other supporting characters were also good.
Can give a try . Love story was good. In short drama so many cute scenes.

Short and sweet

This was a fun, and funny show and I was so pleasantly surprised! This show managed to handle a few of my dislikes in a positive way:
1) I don't like historical dramas, but since this was set in modern times and the historical aspect was well-handled, I really enjoyed it.
2) I also don't care for slapstick comedy. This was found in abundance in this show, and it was well-done as well. All of the sound effects added to the fun of the production. There were many times that I laughed out loud. With all of the over-the-top special effects, sound effects and overall silliness, the show was a perfect length for it to not get tiring. *In the last episode, when they did the slow-motion nod to Goblin, I choked on my soda...so funny!!
3) Chinese dramas tend to be long and drawn out. With 18 short episodes, there was no filler.
4) The dubbing in Chinese is problematic for me. Women's voices tend to be screechy and irritating. I understand that they have to dub because of all of the dialects, but better voices would not go amiss. That said, the woman's voice worked in this one. The woman's voice is the same voice that is normally the 2FL voice - high pitched, breathy, childlike. It worked perfectly for the character of Fu Bao - she was a tiny little thing!
5) Sometimes you find a lot of overacting and yelling in Chinese dramas. Again, those things worked perfectly in this show, it added to the slapstick feel (I'm speaking mainly of the villains).
6) Fake kisses/fish kisses. Nowhere to be found here. There was abundant chemistry and good skinship in this one!

This is the perfect show to watch if you don't want to have to think too much and just want something light to watch between heavier dramas.

Sweet Romantic Love Triangle; with no female rival!

Such a fluffy, sweet and warm romance; really made my heart flutter. With cute, soft moments and tear jerking acting this short series is a definite watch. The drama has no female rivals, rather the extra character helps the female lead. The secondary ML too is cute and takes the heartbreak not as a challenge but his coping up and also coming to the female lead's rescue is indeed praise worthy. The story is light hearted, soft romance, sweet kisses and a definite happy ending!!

**The male time travels and suddenly encounters the FL and from then on starts a sweet love comedy. On the other hand, the boss or the SML, too falls for the FL and tries to win her heart. The love triangle is indeed sweet and will sometimes make you roll out in laughter in the aisles.

Short and sweet

This is a fun and enjoyable way to spend 4.5 hours. The story was quick and to the point even when Wen Lai (the Boss) was trying to win over Fu Bao (FL). That bit is also kind of hilarious because all of the things he thought she did for him because she likes him (giving him apples and flu medicines) were just misunderstandings, and he actually turned out to not be a douche SML either when given the power to get rid of Li Ming Shi (the Emperor) to get the girl himself.

The best bits about the drama were definitely the relationship developments between Fu Bao and Li Ming Shi, first when he had no one and she was teaching him about the modern world to when they were a lovely couple. So adorably cute too! Li Ming Shi wrote down the lyrics of the song Fu Bao made up and was singing, detailing the things she wanted to do on a date, to do them (getting her a balloon, sharing a cotton candy, making a wish at a fountain) with her. All their scenes were adorable! Lots of chemistry and sweetness!

Also, while her role wasn't big, I really like it that the Second Female Lead (who plays Li Ming Shi's Female Lead in the in-drama that they are filming) was also such a good person and had a good relationship with Fu Bao as well. Wen Lai's assistant was hilarious. I pity him for having to deal with Wen Lai's love-sick self. LOL.

The two villains were there to add plot to the drama, but overall, it remained focused on the love story, which is fine and enjoyable.

I'm extremely happy about the happy ending for the main couple, Li Ming Shi and Fu Bao. The only thing that would make this incredibly enjoyable drama even better would be if there was a little more at the end. I would have also enjoyed an explanation, even something on the same level and handwaving as in-drama logic (not even super detailed thought-out logic), for how that happy end was possible.

Would definitely recommend if you want something quick, sweet, and fun to pass the time.

Silly but Funny

**This is just my opinion. I truly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that went into the making of this drama. Thank you.**

Honestly, I only watched this series because I thought Ye Xiao Wei was exceptional in Smile Code and wanted to see him play a leading role. I think that the cast was great and did the best that they could with what they had to work with. The writing was silly and juvenile but was funny so it was still enjoyable to watch for the most part. The characters were what you'd expect from this type of drama. The two male leads are cute, sweet and protective while the female lead is kind hearted and childish. Unfortunately, she's also very vain and her behavior grated on my nerves. There is chemistry between the main couple though, so there's that.
