Beautiful Fantasy Romcom -A tale entangled with music, love and fate ❣️

**May contain spoilers*"

The Theme is unique, Sets and Costumes are beautiful, Plot is smooth and Acting skills are excellent. Each character has his/her own connotations and thoughts and storyline.

The highlight for me is the music and the musical performances ?❤️
I already enjoy Chinese music a lot but there is a bonanza of musical instruments that accompany here which is a treat to watch for viewers with musical interest! The actors are so good with the instruments that it gives us a very natural , relaxed feel while we watch them play! All songs are beautiful ❤️

ML, YunMu, Young Master and the only Son and potential heir of the ruler of Dongsheng, pretends to be playful on the surface and keeps a low key but is actually quite resourceful, strong in martial arts and has amazing musical knowledge and is extremely handsome! But he has to put up that act due to an undisclosed secret! Only his closest aide Xiaoqi knows this. Miles Wei with his amazing looks, talents (sings, dances, musical instruments, martial arts!!!) and excellent acting skills fits the bill perfectly! He has sung the song "Acquiescence" which is beautiful. It is just that much more impactful when the actors sing the tracks!

FL, Su RuoFei, is an exceptional talent in music and looks forward to establishing her Green Flash Music Workshop and help talented fellow musicians. She is fated (through the green light/Jade) with the ability to help YunMu with his secret and through some comic situations ends up being his private entertainer! Kiki Xu, plays her character well. She has strong dancing ability and I am so looking forward for the "Highlight Clip" of her "dancing on the drums"! She has sung the OST "Living up to the encounter " which is amazing! She probably knows how to play musical instruments too.

Su Ruoshan, FL's sister, owner of Melody Musical workshop, is power hungry to become the Music Minister and uses every means possible to achieve this! Zhang Yue's acting is very good as the evil sister! This actress is so easy on the Harp that it makes me wonder if she can actually play it irl!

Then there is an Uncle, Yun Shang (His Majesty's brother) who eyes the throne and had schemed against his nephew previously. His love interest is the sister of FL.

SML, Jin Shangyu played by Caesar Wu, is a childhood friend of FL and another musical genius! He is hot and amazing as always! He is the calmer and the sensible one of the lot and he is in love with our FL.

Huang Ying, daughter of SML's teacher, whom he cares for (and doesn't love!) only because her parents die in floods, is pursuing him against all odds! Her character is like an obsessed stalker at the beginning but it develops into a nice kind helpful one in the later episodes!

Will these characters come together and become a couple? How will their characters develop? Will Su RuoFei help YunMu with his secret? Will YunMu become the Royal Advisor and successor to the throne? Who becomes the Music Minister? Will there be a redemption arc for the villains?? The rest of the story seems to be about all this!

It's only 24 episodes and nicely paced. The first 14 episodes are light-hearted and entertaining. There is some angst from episode 14-19 as the FL gets framed! There is a bounce back from 19 onwards with some real musical performance challenges, martial arts, romance and enjoyable friendships!

Considering that it's a low budget production, the sets, costumes, music , cast, visual effects are all great!! Remember this was filmed in 2021 and C drama has evolved since and so have the actors!

Overall it's a well made, light-hearted , thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable drama!!

幻乐森林

have been following this drama since rumor days
from February 19th 2021 until October 1st 2024
from the original title Our Land, and then change to Meet Me In Your Sound around the time of filming, and then change to Echo of Her Voice in early 2023
the rumor it should've been air in Q1 of 2022, then postponed each quarter until July of 2024
finally, after 1320 days this drama is a wrapped
glad it's a total light romance, the angst wasn't overweight the story (though I can bear a slightly worse angst)
it could be better, but for a non S/A drama I'm really satisfied with this drama
Kiki was doing much better as Su Ruo Fei than a role she did in the same year, too bad it's air way too long after it's a wrapped
Miles, well, what can I say about him, he's good
Kiki and Miles chemistry as Su Ruo Fei and Yun Mu were great, their bickering and bantering, the misunderstanding, and then understanding each other's positions at the end, and the proposal was cute, I just love these two eye candies, too bad their kissing scenes were cut a fcking lot I can't believe it they failed to maximized Miles talent ?
Wu Xi Ze as Jin Shang Yu was so hot, still can't move on from Shang Yu's puppet show but really hate with how he hung Huang Ying until the very end
Zhang Yue as Su Ruo Shan was unreasonably delusional and she really did great to make me hate (and slightly pity) her, Zhang Yue's acting as "psychotic" was soooo good
Huang You Ming as Yun Shang was so good, his character was annoying and was too whipped for Su Ruo Shan, understandably so because Shan Shan is pretty but he's too blinded that makes his character dumb
Lu Zhao Hua can not make hate Huang Ying despite her antique at the beginning because she's soooooo cute
also love Xu Fang Zhou as Xiao Qi
Glad in the end Ruo Fei got to be music minister and touring, Yun Mu got to be royal advisor and "crown prince" despite many people know he's deaf, my power couple
Yun Shang and Ruo Shan got their karma even though in the end they're together, they deserve worse than the ending, my match made in dooms
I just want to say Huang Ying deserves better (sided eyeing you Shang Yu)
also all the music scenes were great, I'm glad even thou everything it's still center around music

Logic of the story

The overall narrative of the story shows promise, but it suffers from a lack of logical coherence. While the plot attempts to engage the audience, several aspects feel disjointed and implausible, which detracts from the viewer's experience. Strengthening the narrative’s structure and ensuring that the progression of events aligns with established character motivations would significantly enhance the storytelling.

On the other hand, the visual elements of the videos are undeniably captivating. The backgrounds are beautifully crafted, providing an immersive environment that draws viewers in. Each scene is filled with rich colors and intricate details that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also create a sense of place that feels alive and inviting. The creators have clearly invested time and effort into making these visuals stunning.

Additionally, the costumes worn by the characters are nothing short of exquisite. They reflect a keen attention to detail and a deep understanding of the characters' personalities and roles within the narrative. The choice of fabrics, colors, and designs is impressive, contributing significantly to the overall production value. Each outfit adds to the richness of the world being portrayed and helps the audience connect with the characters on a deeper level.

In summary, the visuals—both the backgrounds and the costumes—shine brightly and elevate the overall presentation. By marrying a more coherent narrative with these stunning visual elements, the story could truly achieve its potential and captivate audiences even further.

Beautiful music but twisted minds?

Miles Wei drama sign me up! plus the female lead actress is gorgeous but this story kinda flops for me.

In some sense I really wanted to like the drama, if it were only about making music and forming a band but they had to add all this dark stuff of politics, mental illness, scheming. This drama is anything but light hearted.

Male lead is a famous musician ? also the son of leader of a city. He is portayed as flirt, slacking off, lazy. When he was young he got poisoned and from then on was deaf, but he hide this as his secret. He can't let anyone find out.

Female lead is trying to restore credentials so she can perform at the City leader's wife big performance and also become the top musician. Long story short the female lead becomes the male lead's ear and someone how he can only hear the sound of her drums.

The evil uncle tries to kill the male lead time after time but fails. The female lead sister is probably one of the annoyest character anf gave her so much screen time. There wasnt much consquences for what she had done and kept giving her the green light to be a villian up until the end. I get that she has a bad childhood and was scarred for being poor. She is schizophrenic and often sees an image of herself in the mirror telling her to best the first and eventually hurting/sabotaging her sister.

The leads romance is cute! Wish there was a little more . I dont like how the front credits already show all the kissing scenes, basically spoling it. I'm here for the romance and nothing more. The other parts are too cliche and dark....

Light musical historical comedy

Light musical historical comedy with Miles Wei (ML), Caesar Wu (ML2) and Kiki Xu (FL)

PLOT: The FL leads a private music workshop. She meets the ML, prince (deaf) traveling from her city. Surprised by his reaction to her music, he decided to make her his personal artist. This exacerbates the jealousy of the FL's sister, an official and ambitious musician, adored by the ML's uncle (who is aiming for the throne). This duo (which then becomes a couple) will have to face the shenanigans of the uncle and the evil sister.

+++ Excellent actors (all) with particularly remarkable performances from Miles Wei and Kiki Xu (dance, music, fight, even OST).
+++ Relatively coherent story (but very "dramaland")
+++ Effective production, with sumptuous sets, costumes, accessories, etc. and exceptional music and dance scenes.
+++ The format is perfect (24 episodes) for this kind of drama.

### Even if the viewer gets caught up in the game, the story has obvious inconsistencies: which kingdom gives so much importance to music?? It's all about the artists... no one works in this country?

=> pleasant, entertaining, but not memorable series.
*****************************************************************************
Comédie historique musicale et légère vec Miles Wei (ML), Caesar Wu (ML2) et Kiki Xu (FL)

step sister and uncle

I watched the series with difficulty and finished it. The actors attracted me. I like Miles Wei. He is a very sweet boy. Caesar Wu is also a very good actor both physically and facially. I have watched many of his series. He is an actor I like. However, his physical harmony with his partner here was not perfect. They gave an image like a period and a comma. Caesar Wu looks too big in costume. Our daughter Lu Zhao Hua is tiny. They are physically incompatible but they were compatible in terms of acting. I can say the same thing for Miles Wei and Xu Jia Qi in the leading roles. The chemistry of the leading roles did not work for me either. In other words, the female actor was not the actor for this role. I think she was chosen for this role because she is a singer and dancer. Although she acted, the incompatibility and artificiality were noticeable. Likewise, Uncle Huang Yu Ming seemed to be asking what I was doing in this series. I did not find him suitable for the role either. The only people suitable for the role were Miles Wei and Zhang Yue. Zhang Yue made it great. In my opinion, he was very good. I got annoyed. I got angry. I got mad. He was very successful in his role. You might say, wasn't the artificiality obvious in him? Yes, it was obvious, but not as much as the others. He got into his role. The role suited him. I thought that Zhao Lusi was the most suitable actor for this role along with Miles Wei in this series. If he had been there, the series would have been twice as watchable and I gave the series a 7 in my rating, but I gave it to the effort. I could have given it an 8.9. The second is simplicity. They have simplified the series very much. It is clear and known that the step sister and uncle do all the bad things, but nothing happens to them. They don't even ask questions. But you can say he stepped on my foot and go to jail. It is the simplest of the simple. A little mercy. A little logic. A little reason. A little reality. None of them. The script is terrible. The direction is terrible. The acting is also a little better than them, but if the direction is bad, if there is no realism in the scenes, if the artificiality is noticeable, what is the point of the direction? Zero management.
In the end, the bad guys don't get their punishment. They are rewarded. They are released. The man who caused the death of hundreds of people, who tried to kill the King, his brother, sister-in-law, nephew, is released. His crime is rebellion. Who did you fool now, scriptwriter? Does what you did seem like a piece of shit? How ugly. There is no cause and effect relationship. It is ignored. Likewise, the step sister was not held responsible for anything she did, nor was she punished or interrogated. She went off as if she lost her mind. In the end, this Uncle and Step Sister are together. Happy ending. So, did your example find its place? Did what you did work? Screenwriter, the story you wrote is unlike anything else. Who did you serve? Why did you write it? Who did you address? What message did you give? What did people understand from this series, what lesson did they learn, what inspiration did they get? Do you have an answer? Are you saying come on, come on? Just watch it, it's a simple series. Don't ask questions. Don't analyze it. Don't look for anything behind it. Don't comment. It's just a series. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The result is zero.

can’t get past ep2, so disappointing

I really enjoy watching the dramas. Buy when I can’t get through the series it
is so disappointing. I understand trying to lure people to pay for a subscription and hooking people with 2 free episodes will/might do this. the cost of the monthly subscription is too high.

it also seems I can’t submit this review as
I don’t have enough characters in my review. maybe if there was a counter for words so I knew how much to say and provide worthwhile review instead of adding all this filler.

maybe is it the poor review I gave it that is not allowing me to submit a review. I changed my star rating I have have still not provided enough fluff to get my review accepted by the bot. let’s see what else I can change.

well hanging that I finished the show didn’t help I am still trying to figure out what it will take to be able to submit my review. wheat else can I change?

ah I had to fill out all of the stars to be able to get the submit review to work. thanks

Childish acting, poor scripts, poor directing… another big miss!

I skipped through many parts of each episode and I'm done with this drama at episode 12. The script is terrible, the directing is burlesque, the acting is childish and there's zero chemistry between the actors. It seems like the show had a cheap budget. The scenes with horses and the green background for special effects not realistic and the main lead on the horse are laughable.

There are so many stereotypes in the show, like the jealous sister, the villainous uncle, the sweet boy in unrequited love, and the fat boy turning into a handsome man. Also, the dubbing voices are not always synchronized, especially the FL. The ML is deaf but not deaf. He clearly doesn't read the lips, and when his personal guard and friend speak behind his back, miraculously he hears him.

Some of the actors and actresses should consider pursuing a different career. What a bummer!

I understand this drama is meant to be a romantic comedy but it is definitely not my taste.
