Nice combination of tropes done right
This drama is nothing special but sweet, fluffy and has a whole bunch of good old drama cliches keeping you just a little bit nervus done mostly right. There is one character that is annoying but she grows allot during the drama making all the scenes bearable to watch and not a single itch to skip, big + for that. The show , shows a nice level of character growth and has one of c-dramalands sweetest thrupple sisterhood. The female lead is pretty smart when it comes to all but her emotions. The male lead is as warm as hot cup of coco, he may be a tad persistent but overall he is pretty good at not forcing himself on the female lead.
So all in all pretty sweet and fluffy and definitely has the potential to fulfill all your fluffy needs.

Great plot and realistic.
Omg! Love this C- Drama. Tbh i think this is the best I have watched!!! No cliche and cringey scenes! Both the leads have great chemistry together!!!!The ML is sooo cuteee while the FL is sooo beautiful!!! I like the FL’s character. Not like the typical stupid and naive FL. Strong, independent and logical! Very worth to watch… this drama gave me lots of life lessons. I can relate with this drama as day by day I’m growing older haha.
There are lots of intimate scenes but yet very sweet to watch.
The only thing that I dislike is i guess some scenes it is too long? Like they edited the scenes to be longer than it should.
Overall, you should really watch it guys!!!

A beautiful thoughtful April September romance tale- Unmissable!
Dont miss this unmistakable gem. Here is a list of what went right with My Fated Boy- Sensitive writing with a lot of depth
- Great character development
-Heartwarming scenes linking to the past when the ML and FL were childhood playmates
- Non cliched treatment of the problems of a noona romance. Loved that they did not shy away from the discussions that being older she would age faster and may even die first.
-Super-loved the fact that she is his first sexual partner.
- The supporting actors and their stories all tying in with the theme of nurturing love.
- Every character tried to become better version of themselves. Its as if when faced with a seemingly impossible but intense love between the ML and the FL, each character felt the need to find in themselves understanding, warmth and maturity. It wasnt as if they brushed the age difference under the carpet but accepted it genuinely and tried to protect the difficult relationship.
- Superb chemistry between the FL and ML. His eagerness and heart on sleeve attitude and her reserve born out of past disappointments-- so wonderfully portrayed. I dont think I will ever forget him crying to his father that he wants to protect her but feels useless because she is so capable. Such real fears.
I think 2021 marks the year when C-dramas came of age and started producing real and timeless stories that sit well with audience in non-Chinese speaking areas. And my Fated Boy will arguably occupy one of the top spots.

Truly enjoy with everything!
Hello fellow watchers! I just finish watching this drama. I start with little expectations because at first I just watch it for the sake of "no breakup near the end" "no love triangle" and "no misunderstanding", but this drama really exceed my expectations.[Before that, my writing include some spoiler, but before the spoiler part, I will put "*spoiler*" so you can just skip the spoiler part if you don't want to be spoiled!]
I like almost everything about this drama! So here is my list of what I like and dislike about it!
What I LIKE :
1) healthy relationship
By what I mean with healthy relationship is, they started with imperfect couple who gone through a lot of problems and is willing to learn from it. Somehow, some drama managed to show us the "healthy relationship" because they doesn't really have a problem with each other (which is almost impossible irl). But in this drama, the couple went a lot of trouble (mainly because the ml is a public figure) but still going strong. Their relationship is honestly so matured and sweet! You will enjoy every single moment of them!
2) different background of women.
This drama show us what a woman need to go through in their life. Of course it is not the same with everyone. In this drama, they show the struggle of a single mother, a full-time wife, unmarried woman in her 30s, a young woman who chase her crush, a 40s mother and so on. I'm a girl, so while watching this drama, I always wondered, which of these characters will I relate to the most.
3) the childhood story at the beginning of the drama.
It is so cute<33333 it does not take to much time and really cute!!! You will always find yourself giggle at their cuteness.
4) character development.
Almost every character have the character development and I love it especially *spoiler* Li Tian. Goshhh this girl is so annoying at first (thanks to her cute face, I don't really hate her at that time). She keep chase An An like a crazy fan. But An An always straightforward with her and she eventually accept it and slowly change into a better person <333
5) Lovely side character.
Okay where do I start? The family? FL best friend? Their boss? ML coworkers? FL boss's wife? The sister at the cafe they frequently go?
Most of them are reallyyyyyyyyyy great!
*Spoiler* of course there are some that annoying, but they won't last long?.
6) the emotion
I laugh and cry like crazy. Oh and I usually cried in some rom-com drama because of how stupid the main cp act (like literally stupid!). But in this drama, I cried because it is beautiful. It is really relatable at some part. You can call it tears of joy<333 and of course I laugh because it's funny.
What I DISLIKE :
1) 2-close-person-like-same-girl trope.
*Spoiler* An An and his cousin like yang yang and this make them kinda fight against each other? BUT, in the end they are good again, so don't worry they don't actually hate each other. You won't really feel their distance.
I think that's all what I like and dislike. Hope this help you in making decision. Btw, you can easily watch this at youtube "youku english".
I truly enjoy this drama and if you decide to watch it, I hope you get the same feeling!
Bye!

The unexpected golden drama you're looking for
Almost dropped this drama for the confusing first 20 minutes, but I'm glad I gave it another chance. The quality of this show is top-notch, they didn't drag the plot lines at all, they didn't overdo the romantic sweetness so every scene was naturally cute, every character was different and has an impact on the storyline. The first thing you'll realize about this Drama is the amazing chemistry between the two leads. It's funny to say, but I was actually impressed with the fist hugging scene the leads had and think to myself "that is such a great and fitting hug". Yes, I love every single hug they did in this show. I was not familiar with both of the two main actors, yet I find them instantly great as CP.
Plot-wise, it has your average recipe of contemporary dramas, childhood friendships, living together, a love triangle, and a more successful male lead. But what's great is that the scriptwriter did a very good job making these cliches tropes to be very natural, every romantic scene doesn't have that "added sweetener" to it, has no cringey "breakup before ending" plots and the character was made believable as everyday ppl you see. Also, this show has a great second plots couple or side story that doesn't take too much time and actually has an influence on the main story.
So character-wise, they made the leading lady far from your "innocent and too nice almost dumb" type of figure. Her lines always have great comebacks, and male leads showed great development as they undergo the relationship.

A really nice drama, which highlights the strength of love, friendship, family, kindness
A really nice drama, which highlights the strength of love, friendship, family, kindness. The actors do a great job, create a real alchemy. Finally a Chinese drama that shows a lot of real kisses, hugs, realistic behaviors within the lead couple!
The context is deeply rooted in Chinese culture (hard work, only child, respect for elders, place of women and strong discrimination between men and women, particularly in the professional but also personal context).
This story is positive, feel-good, without length, and all the women will be moved by the ML, handsome, tenacious, attentive and ready to do anything to protect his wifei.

GREAT NOONA STORY DONE WRITE AND DIFFERENTLY WITH LOTS OF BUTTERFLIES
I wanted this drama to marinate in my subconscious before i wrote a short review.I have less complaints so this will be quick. If this ended up in your recommendation while you were looking for a noona story, dont even finish reading reviews,Go ahead and watch it,just have a warm blanket and extra pillow near you because the ML will make you feel very single if you are single or question your choices if you are married.
Typical noona romance trope that was done EXTREMELY RIGHT and with a FRESH touch. The writer knew what he/she was doing, not your typical go back in time of our childhood storyline, unfortunately if i tried to explain it,it would spoil the whole thing so I only encourage the future viewers to watch and see how well the story was coordinated between the past and present.
For the first time i want to give flowers to the Editing team, whoever came up with the editing ideas is a genius..It added comedy to the show and it was well done with the music and the sounds that were used.
I love love a constistent ML,from day 1(probably the day he met the FL when he was 0 day old) He knew what he wanted and that was to be with her, simple and clear, he never waved or blinked..and this man gave all the viewers butterflies,oh No Zoo in our stomach..I ended up hunting all his work, young and talented.
As for the FL,chinese writers have something against FLs in general,so i wont even start to talk about how difficult her character was, since childhood, she loved and protected the ML but she did more than that..And how i wish her character developed at least in the ast 6 episodes. She surrendered her will to control and fight her emotions very late and this drove me mad..Because the moment she did,the flow of the drama went really light.
The side characters, especially both parents were made in heaven, who had been friends before even their children were born. All the side characters and their personal stories were well executed and added to the beauty of this drama.
I would have rated this 10/10 but the FL character development that took forever left me bitter and I wish there was more music performance seing that the ML chose music as a career because of the FL and he had a super star status.

It's a noona romance masterpiece!
The Good:- The noona dynamics
- It has a truly beautiful romantic story.
- It has an outstanding cast.
- It has a bucketload of wholesomeness.
- It has great boss characters.
- The great sismances
- It has short, but impactful flashbacks.
- I did not feel the 29 episodes being too stretched out.
- Best parents!
- The love triangles are relatively weak.
The Neutral:
-The show is a bit silly, no one will mistake this for reality :-)
-The 7 year age gap is over-dramatized.
The Bad:
-The forced semi breakup after a kiss that lasted for 3 episodes(those episodes were pretty bad 11-12-13)
-The plot involving the evil sponsor woman made very little sense.

Hidden Gem
This is a very well-rounded show where all the essential elements of creating a drama: the script, the cast, the editing, the music, all work together harmoniously to create a fun story that is very grounded in real life but yet keeps it wholesome. In truth, the very premise itself is already dramatic enough: the girl is 7 years older than the guy. That's it. That's all the drama anyone can handle, and so this show doesn't try to create more artificial conflict. All the characters are thoughtfully written, and even the side characters are essential to the main storyline. I generally dislike the habit Cdramas tend to have of having secondary characters and romances that generally have absolutely nothing to do with the main couple, but in this show, every side character has a role that is integral to the main plot, and so their fate and how they entwine together are therefore very relevant. The comedic timing in this show is on point; not only do characters deliver their punchlines impeccably, but the director knows exactly which angles, which shots, and which background music will deliver the jokes to the greatest effect. I was crying from laughter throughout many episodes and sometimes couldn't even sleep because I was giggling too much over a particular gag. Flashback scenes are hilarious and also tie into the present timeline's themes, with childhood quirks setting up jokes later in the episode, and even later in the series. Most of all, this show is very self-aware; the characters point things out almost as soon as I think them in my head, including things that someone didn't do but should have done, and what this typically signifies. A lot of usual stereotypes get turned on their heads; many characters that would normally be antagonists in other stories are thoughtful allies in this one; comic relief characters are essential heroes that display appropriate gravitas and dignity when the situation warrants, and even the one flat antagonist that I believe other reviewers have referred to has the interesting symbolic role of representing the often superficial public opinion, so her lack of depth is actually appropriate for what she is meant to portray. This show is made of top quality ingredients that are cooked together in a way that both complement and elevate all the individual components, leading to a truly enjoyable experience. I couldn't put the series down and ended up finishing this show two days. An absolute must watch! Was this review helpful to you?

love it
it's worth the watch. It's one of the great ones. It's worth the watch multiple times. You can feel the chemistry through the screen , and they show affection for one another multiple times throughout different episodes they always hugging nowadays, when you want different TV shows people don't hug much as they used to they just watch each other in the eyes and flirt, flirt flirt it doesn't go nowhere and they don't say their feelings until it's too late but I love this oneWas this review helpful to you?
