The play is worth watching!
This play triggered my thinking. It talked about women's choices in the workplace and family. Girls will encounter many difficulties after having children and getting married. Therefore, through this play, it also gave me a lot of ideas and told me how to balance the relationship between family and career. Bai Baihe and Tong Dawei also have good acting skills, They performed their roles very vividly, which made me integrate into this TV play and feel indebted as if it were received in person.Which are highly recommended! Was this review helpful to you?
A true reflection of what life is all about
If your have the time and space, watch it from start till the end if not, just need to watch the last episode.Manybof is are living in a conflict world, many of our times we though that we are in control but infect, we are not.
This drama really hive us a chance to reflect on ourselves. What is life and what we really wanted.
We can be lost at times without us even notice because of our super fast pace. This is the reality and we must recognise it and move on from it.
This land we are living in now have been beautifully coloured by many personal selfishness.
As much as many wanted to wake up the rest, its not going to work in thisbnew generation. So we will just need to do what we can and try to rebuild this piece of land that we are living in

Thoughtful drama on dilemmas of parenting
I watched this drama because of the director's brilliant work in The First Half of My Life and The Rise of the Phoenixes. As per Shen Yan's previous works, Modern Marriage also featured characters who are nuanced, flawed and very real. The drama highlights the struggles faced by parents juggling work and raising young children. Main couple decided that Mum would stay home to care for their daughter. She rejoined the workforce when her child started preschool. Her daily stresses between school runs, childcare, career demands and house work are all so relatable. Her step by step achievements and growth alongside with her husband made me cheer for them. My initial frustration with their lack of communication eventually melted away.
Three other couples with different arrangements give insights into universal issues faced by parents everywhere.
The setting is also quite interesting. The world of venture capitalists is not familiar territory for many of us.
Acting was pretty solid all around, though not in the same league as the actors on The First Half of My Life.
A thoughtful drama that was a good break from the mediocre romcoms that I've been watching lately. Haha.

Such a good show
I was genuinely not sure if I would like this show, but the plot sounded compelling so I decided to give it a try. I am really glad I did. It is interesting and thought-provoking and has me hooked. I really like the pacing. The acting is also phenomenal. Even the kids are good. I also really like how questions and critiques of traditional versus modern relationships and the way they affect families and workplaces are laid out using an interesting plot and equally interesting characters, snd that most aren't totally good or bad, just like most humans IRL. I thought I knew going in which lead character I would support based on my beliefs but it shockingly ended up the opposite. I also nev er know what the next episode will hold. My only critique is some of the dramatic moments are definitely Extra. And maybe I will hate the end, I don't know yet, but so far I have really enjoyed the ride. Was this review helpful to you?
