Fluffy well-paced light romance period drama
*SPOILERS AHEAD*For somebody who absolutely can’t stand dragged out misunderstandings between the lead couple, this drama is really IT for me. Well-paced with light schemes and misunderstandings resolved within 1 episode and deep trust among the couples and friends kept me going.
Synopsis:
The FL was brought into her own novel and took the identity of Hua Qing Ge who was to become the consort to the third prince. Being the writer of her own novel, she knew this character would be killed by her own husband hence she escaped on the night of her wedding and was saved by her cousin who is the first prince and heir to the throne. Through a series of events, the FL eventually managed to “change” the ML for the better and her novel started to develop new stories she wasn’t aware of. It was also revealed that the empress was the greatest mastermind of them all.
My thoughts:
I felt that they casted the ML well. He was able to portray a slightly sinister appearance which had a hint of playfulness as well- which was his character in this show. While he appears to be cold, he is actually one who cares about his loved ones and would protect them. Felt the FL was a mismatch to him but overall still ok, after all it’s really just a light fluffy drama. No overly complicated schemes or plots, pretty straight forward. The costumes of the males in the drama looked really nice though. For some reason, the ladies had rather mediocre outfits. Lol
Overall, if you’ve some time to kill between those A-list dramas, this is one you can definitely catch. Something light and fast paced.

Hauntingly beautiful story
The PlotThe basic idea of the the story is about a Web writer who doesn't care about the integrity of the story, but writes to create controversy and therefore get comments. But the negative comments are so much such that she is ordered by "the system" to change the ending or face the consequences.
She is stubborn and refuses to change the storyline and is sucked into the plot, opening with her, embodied in character of Hua Qing Ge, her namesake, being murdered on her wedding night by he husband, the chief Antagonist Ji Chu also known as Prince LV.
She is allowed to wake up again in the plot and this time is permitted to do whatever she can to escape and survive, thus altering the trajectory of the plot.
Qing, as she is affectionately known by Ji Yun the Crown Prince, the Protagonist in her storyline and everyone's all round dreams guy and the reason she has found herself in the plot, because she has him murdered by Ji Chu which did not go down well with fans.
Qing is confident that she can outsmart Ji Chu because she wrote the plot and thinks that she knows his every move and is able to stay one step ahead of him as she desperately fights for survival, aided by Ji Yun.
What she does not bargain for, is that by the very nature of the fact that she didn't die in the opening scene she has altered the course of the plot and events begin to unfold that she has no control over. The other problem she has is that she didn't take time to develop the story and characters properly so quickly learns that she has no real idea about characters motivations and therfore their behaviour and she expresses this regret several times.
The story takes us through the growth of Qing as she interacts with the characters she has created and how her presence alters their lives and outcomes eventually changing the plot in a way she has no control over the outcome.
What l loved
I loved the plot and how Qing's interaction with each character she created transformations her from an arrogant entitled spoilt brat to a kind, caring considerate human being.
Song Yi Ren(Irene Song) who plays Qing is able to transport you from your living room into this ancient world of intrigue, fear, remorse and love. She is incredibly funny and has you laugh so much your sides hurt, but she is also able to take you into dark sorrowful places and make you cry as you see the world she finds her self in though her eyes.
Ding Ze Ren, who plays Ji Chu, is a magnificent villain, his costumes are very beautiful and elaborate, he wears them with elegance and creates just the right amount of arrogance when he struts around, like a magnificent peacock in all it's glory. According to Qing, who is petrified of him, he is the embodiment of evil. After all she created him that way and in her original plot he remains evil to the end. But the readers protested and her mission is to change him and thus change the plot or she can't go home.
Ding Ze Ren takes us through that transformation as he constantly runs into Qing messing with his plans for revenge. We discover as Qing does that he is not one dimensional but multi facited, each episode is like pealing the layers of an onion as it slowly reveals the true character of Ji Chu.
I am so sad that Ding does not have more acting roles because he is incredibly gifted as demonstrated by his portrayal of this very difficult and complex character.
I highly recommend that you watch it and how you feel at the end depends on how invested you are in the people in the story, each one with very complex issues and life choices they are faced with

Good Logic!
The logic is logic-ing. 100% recommend. So first off, this was very unexpected. I found this series randomly and started to watch the first ep with completely no knowledge of what to expect. I soon realized that the general plot was very similar to a well beloved series that I had recently completed and was intrigued. Right from the start this series really had me grasping for more. It had everything going for it. From comedy to romance and fluff to politics and power struggle. Heck even had a little bit of the sherlock holmes vibes (minimally) where they would do investigations. This was what I was looking for when I was watching the other series. I don't want to name names but when I was watching the other series, while I understood that it was a comedy and supposed to parody other more serious shows, I felt like it really lacked the depth and seriousness that was NEEDED for certain scenes. Often times as I was watching, I felt like it was always rudely interrupted by something comedic to lighten up the mood. While it wasn't terrible and I understood what it was going for, I felt like a better series would be able to handle the more dark things without ruining the overall vibe of the show. And this series did it for me. Everything was just as I wanted it to go. All the main cast were likable in their own way and characters were well developed. There was no unnecessary drama and things that would've been annoying was quickly resolved. Whenever a character did something that we as the viewer would deem stupid, there was still a sense of logic to it if viewed from their POV. What I really liked about this series was they really used logic when they wrote their characters and scenes. Sometimes I would catch myself thinking, 'oof they're gonna pull that trope huh' and then they would use logic that no other series would use to disengage it. Of course by saying no other series, I don't mean that it was necessarily never done before but they just applied logic to the series many times where you would think they would start to drop the logic. The series manage to carry the plot all the way through to the very end. Of course I still have my own opinion on how I wish it had ended but it definitely was not bad and the did not drop the ball, not even once. FL is likeable and ML is a green flag. I've never watch either actor's other series but for sure will be seeking out more. I felt like the set was really beautiful and while at times it seemed they lack extras to make the scenes more full, it was still really well done and deserves praise. Makeup for for the ML at first was a bit over filtered (or at least it seemed like they used too much contour makeup on him) but I think they really toned down on it and overall I enjoyed the makeup and outfits as well. I also appreciate that though they had few costumes per cast, it was nice that they were shown to change and switch attire and not just wear the same things over and over for a prolong amount of time. Some outfit were cuter than others but at least with the change of outfit it also felt more genuine that they were people who actually lived their lives and even shows the passage of time. Music was well placed and felt like were very impactful when necessary. I'm an analyzer when it comes to watching things and while I did figure out some things along the way, I was still shocked towards the end. Anyways, this is not a well written review but I just wanted to put it out there that this series is worth the watch. If anyone ever stumbles across this series, do not hesitate to watch it. I mean it. No skip, no x2 speed. 100% recommend.
Brain rating: 9.7/10 and Heart rating: 9.0/10

Not baad
Overall story is good.....all leads acted according to their roles....worth to watch it...ending is also not bad...although feel bad for supporting characters...this story is a good work...about FL characters that was her role there is nothing to complained about it she played her part well.....An author ends up in her novel. I usually don't love transmigration stories, because it is usally boring to being in dream for a long time..and less time in real world .......but the trailer caught my attention with its relatively good cinematography & intriguing suspense. Was this review helpful to you?
interesting plot but lacks the charisma needed
I personally really like transmigration/ time travel type of dramas and the plot for this one is really intriguing. The female lead is sucked into her own novel because of the backlash of the horrible ending she gave it. The ending she wrote gives the character she becomes a quick death and the villain ultimately winning in the end. In order to get out of the novel she needs to rewrite the ending and do that by not being killed by her now husband, the villain of the story. The idea of this is really nice, the setting and costuming is also really pleasing. What this show lacks however is the right kind of female lead to carry it. Since the entire show hinges on her then all your attention as the viewer goes to her. Unfortunately this actress does not pull it off. I saw and liked her in Ever Night so I know she is a capable actress, this role just does not suit her. They needed someone that has a stronger presence. Unfortunately in this setting the costuming does not flatter her figure which makes her come off as childish and not as appealing as you would expect from a character in this role. I also dislike her facial expressions and interactions with the male leads. I think they wanted to go for a more comedic approach but ended up with her feeling immature and annoying. She often gives strange facial expressions and the way she carries herself and moves seems so odd to watch.
The male leads are impressing me a bit, especially Ji Chu, most are unknown to me so this is my first time seeing them on screen. The poor choice for leading lady and weak comedic attempts unfortunately detract from this drama and make it difficult for me to be interested in how it continues.

The female lead was a bad choice and the time-travel storyline was the same old with no happy ending
I must say that casting the wrong female lead can completely ruin a potentially good drama. In my opinion, this drama failed miserably in mixing comedy and thriller. Casting this actress as the female lead, was a terrible choice. She lacked the physical appeal and failed to inspire any passion. It was difficult to imagine male leads falling for her, given the lack of chemistry between them. Her petite and average looks may work well in contemporary comedies but not in period dramas where the clothes have to look good on the actors. It is frustrating to see such casting decisions, especially when male actors cast alongside them are noticeably more handsome. Such imbalanced casting affects the credibility of the entire performance, in my opinion.
The observation that I have made about Chinese comedy dramas is that they seem to have a very distinct type of actresses. These actresses are usually petite, have a cute appearance, and speak and act in a childish voice. They often portray the roles of a damsel in distress, appearing as a doormat to the male lead. Unfortunately, I cannot recall a single Chinese comedy drama that I have enjoyed. For me, these dramas often come off as cringeworthy, with a weak script, no on-screen chemistry between the main couple, and the presence of ridiculous villains. Overall, my experience with Chinese comedy dramas has been nothing short of a disaster. This drama is no exception.
Furthermore, the villains created by scriptwriters in this drama were not at all compatible with comedy. It can be quite challenging to take a dramatic story seriously when the main character is portrayed as being funny or clumsy. It makes it a predictable and one-dimensional storyline. Eliminate the feeble attempt, and what you have left is a time of intense political intrigue. Take away the intrigue, and you're left with a stale comedy filled with recycled jokes often found in time travel stories.
This is why I am not a fan of time travel dramas. The character's obsession with going back to the present made it quite boring. In the end, when she finally falls in love, she is sent back abruptly, only for the reincarnation of her lost lover to show up miraculously. I feel that the storylines in question lack originality and intrigue, as they seem to follow a predictable pattern that often leads to a bittersweet ending. I don't enjoy this particular type of storyline or the ending as I find it unfulfilling and unsatisfying.
Although I strongly believe that everyone has the potential to showcase their talent, I also firmly believe that not every actor or actress is suitable for every role. I understand the appeal of certain actors and actresses, where their physical attributes resonate with some fans. However, I do not fall into this category. I have a deep appreciation for talented performers, but I also have a preference for gorgeous actors and actresses versus cute looking. In all honesty, if production fails to deliver chemistry between its actors, or if the script lacks direction and is just a confusing mess, or even worse, if it's just another overdone time travel plot with the same jokes, then I won't waste my time watching it.
From my perspective, the script of this drama was poorly written and the cast failed to deliver convincing performances. If the drama had cast a different female lead, I would probably have been much more interested in watching it. The script is confusing, the casting is wrong, and there's no chemistry between the actors. It was painfully cringeworthy.
I gave this drama a fair chance and watched six episodes, The content lacked the ability to maintain my interest or motivate me to continue watching. To sum it up, this drama is a no-go for me.
**
Just a quick note. It is both disappointing and concerning to witness the level of intolerance and immaturity displayed by some users of this site. Treating others with respect, even when we disagree with them, is a sign of maturity and decency. On the other hand, leaving petty and unconstructive comments is indicative of the true character of the person. I have no tolerance for such behavior, but if you insist on exposing yourself in such a manner, be my guest. Thankfully, the block option has always been my favorite tool for dealing with such individuals.

Voltar a ver:
