It was pretty good but not as good as I expected

It was pretty good, but I kinda wish their relationship existed more though the series. It didn’t seem like they loved each other till right at the end! I love the actors so it was nice seeing them! I hope to see them in more BL’s.
The story was so so! I think it was all too quickly paced though, I wish Korean BL’s would be longer! The way the second guy showed up and confessed to his ‘wife’ was a little odd, like its your friends wife the fact it all happened so quick because the series is so short. I wanted to see more in the main couple relationship tbh. But it was sweet at the end with them staying together!

SHORT, SWEET AND TO THE POINT.

This is the first ever historical BL I've watched so far that was an actual BL (not BL turned into bromance or planktonic relationship) and ended with a sweet kiss. ( "Tinted with you" is an exception bcz it's not really a historical drama. Though it takes place in a historical setting, it's a fantasy drama with one ML from modern times, who time travelled to past).
I don't know why people complains more than appreciating. Trust me. It wasn't a rushed drama. But yes, no time was wasted in back stories and unnecessary explanation.
IT ONLY FOCUSES ON THE LOVE STORY OF THE MAIN COUPLE. UNLIKE OTHER HISTORICAL DRAMAS, THERE'S NO SIDE STORIES OR BACK STORIES SHOWING TREACHERY AND SCHEMES AND SOCIETY. SO IF YOU'RE OKAY WITH JUST THE COUPLE, WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT...WHAT IFS AND WHAT NOWS, DEFINITELY GO FOR IT!
I've seen a lot of people comparing it to SPRING OF CRUSH. Yes, the plot is somewhat similar bcz both involves a guy who cross-dressed as a woman and married a man. But other than that, the stories and endings are different. Spring of crush is much more elaborate and complex which is why it did not really end up as a happy ending for a BL couple( it definitely wasn't a sad ending either).
Whereas, Nobleman Ryu's wedding is much more simpler story so it could end up with a sweet ending. I liked both!

Could have been better

Let me just start by the acting and the casting for this series. Honestly, I love Sejin's acting even when he stars in Mr Heart series. His acting is good though I feel if he polish and go to acting class, he could be the next top actor. I love the way his eyes just stares into his co-star's eyes but his eyes filled with emotion. Sejin's feels and letting his role takes over his body really AMAZED me. I never follow BL K-drama that much but his acting is something else. On the other hand, Insoo's acting is alright but there's no rush and patience. Like he doesn't portray the rushness of Hosun's character when he is being split between his sister or his wife. 'Blank' is written all over his face and I couldn't feel much chemistry between them but Sejin make it up for them so it doesn't look too obvious. Can we normalize hiring actors with good potential? Like this is not the first time and I feel so disappointed that this has happened. Anyhow, love Sejin's acting.

The plot somehow have a lot potential to grow and to expand but too short for 8 episodes. The closure is alright since we all seen it coming for both of them that they will be together. I still feel it such a waste for the director for doing 8 episodes with 12 minutes per episode. It would have been better if it shows their daily struggle of how to keep the secret and day by day, they soon to realized that they love each other more than just an arranged marriage. Ah. What a waste. But still good plot and storyline though.

Overall, 7/10 . I still feel they should extend the episodes or maybe the length of each episode cause this is too short, too rushed and slightly amateur but still a good one. Looking forward in watching more series and movies from Sejin. <3

it is the softest thing ever and im so here for it

it was so good and i am genuinely surprised that this hasn't gotten the rating it deserved. even now, my heart is filled with love and joy as i an writing it. i loved it so much. it has the cutest love story and the characters are just so lovable! first i didn't think i would like it this much but i fell in love with the plot. if you are looking for something to cheer you up, this is the drama for you. one of my favorite dramas ever! it is fluffy, has a little love triangle to spice things up and the loveliest ending! i don't know what else they could do better. they really impressed me. i wasnt expecting this at all, i didnt even think that i would like it this much. i miss them already.

Short and quick dose of fluff

Just watch without a lot of expectations, the whole series is little longer than an hour perhaps, and for the short time span, they have covered quite a bit of plot. Plus given a soft romance with believable chemistry.

I've got no complaints about acting, story, direction. All are good even compared to the kdrama standard. I can understand the frustrations of other users.. the story is beautiful with a lot of potential, and hopefully they will start making full length dramas of this vibe <3

Personally, I'd call it a mood booster material, though I'd rather watch the movie for re-watch!!!

Good k drama but a little story is missing.

I like this drama because it was very fun to watch.I liked the cast and acting but I think the story is missing.Like when they separated there was no reaction shown of Ryu's mother and sister. When they reunited there the drama ends.I think there should be more things to it.Many questions aren't answered like what happened to Ryu's mother and sister? What happened to Tae Hyung? What happened when they reunited? What happened to Ryu's fiance? I think they gave us something but they kept alot of things from us.
In order to answer these questions they should make season 2 of this drama.

spoiler kinda?

Okay so the idea and story was good, but i feel like the main characters lacked chemistry you could say? The time was limited and the story wasn't explained enough. I also think that the acting was a weird off, like it just didn't feel like it was real at some points, it was good at some parts too tho! I feel like if some parts were cut out and if we could see more into why the actual wife left would make the series more worth it. I don't get how someone could fall in love so fast either. So what I mean is the series could be better. But besides that, I really loved the idea of the story and stuff, I hope to see more bl kdramas!

Meh

There are two very good things about this drama. The first is the production quality. It's pretty good. Most kdramas, even webseries, usually are. The other great thing was Ryo Ho Sun's hat with the pink beads. I loved that hat. Such a good hat.

The story... ehh it was kind of lame. It followed many drama formats before it, so it had a basic level of good. But... how to explain... it's like there is a lack of depth there. The writing feels superficial, like it wasn't made to be taken seriously. In this way, it felt disappointing. There's a plot hole concerning the sister/brother switch. We never see the family's reaction to it, which just makes the story feel hollow and not thought out. Also, the development of the relationship between the main leads was so... empty. They didn't really have much to bond over. I think it would have been great if they committed to the whole, "this is my sister's marriage" and grown unexpected feelings while trying to convince each other that they could not be in love. It's a great premise, I just wish they actually supported that premise with an equally great script. The script was weak, but it could had been salvaged if the actors breathed some life into their characters. Which brings us to....

The acting... It was decent acting. They're not bad actors. But, they also didn't really think deeply about their characters. The kiss scene was so cringe. There was almost no chemistry between the leads throughout the whole show. It almost felt homophobic to watch if I may be so overdramatic. With a script like this, it really needed actors that added something to their characters. But these were actors that were just delivering lines in a way that felt human. Good eye contact, shifting gazes, etc. It was more, "by the rules" of acting and less *feeling* who their characters were.

Honestly, the whole thing is disappointing. I powered through to the ending because it was so short. This drama felt half-hearted in many ways. It kind of felt like an assignment. Like it was made just because someone wanted it to be made, but not because anyone actually cared about it. I don't know. Am I being too harsh? Do you agree?

Implausible plot with a beautiful ending

This is a very unusual story that is somewhat implausible given the period of time that it takes place. But despite that , it works. It works on the strength of the actors and the pretty good dialogue. This could have been a sham arrangement but it began to feel normal and right. It did lack depth and I do wish there were more episodes to see greater character development. But I was moved by its story and beauty. I am sure not everyone will agree but it is entertaining and likeable.

I was actually pretty entertained

I went in without high expectations because the ratings and reviews didn’t seem too fantastic, but I'll be honest and say that some moments were quite hilarious and fun to watch.

The premise is interesting because it asks a fairly deep question: If two people play their ‘roles’ in a marriage, can love be nurtured after spending an extended amount of time together? Can romance blossom from what starts out as a transactional arrangement? The cynic in me is inclined to think, hell no, they might hate each other even more by the end of it. But in a BL universe, we are allowed to dream a little.

The sweet domestic life of Kiwan and Hoseon was enjoyable while it lasted but some questions were left unanswered. It's also unclear why a love triangle was needed for the plot. I think the series would have worked perfectly fine without it.

It was a really cute Korean BL, Korea has been doing it right with their BLs and I love it. The story was original and set in historical times, I really liked it was quite fun, obviously, only very feminine guys could have pulled this off realistically. However, despite being funny and sweet, I would have liked the romance to have been a little more shown and prominent in the story. We did see the chemistry because we ship it and we know it's going to happen, but it didn't develop correctly personally. So I guess that's the only thing that it lacks. Plus, the fact that it was a historical Korean drama, made it more serious, and like I don't know much about how gay people were seen back at that time in that place, but my best guess it would be bad. If only it wasn't as short maybe they would have shown a little more of the struggle...?

Good but limited running time

Imagine if the running time of this KBL is just like thai BL??? I know there's something in the plot that can go far and can put more in it but because of it's limited running and small budget they rushed it and go fast paced. Imagine this is what happened On the first episode they showed the wedding and how Kiwan struggle to replace his sister. And on their honeymoon omoo it would be chaotic imagine while they're making out without ryu knowing kiwan is a man and then when he touched kiwans **** while making out and that's how he find out HHAHAHAHAHHA. And then Ryu will be disgust coz Kiwan is a man. But eventually he didn't realize that He's slowly falling for a man. And then Ryu sister and mother will be a pain in Kiwan's ass just like kdramas in laws set up. And Ryu's feelings for Kiwan Will be tested by returning of original Fiance. Omooooo there's a lot scene in my mind that can spice up this bl. But all in all this is a good one you'll not get bored While watching this KBL, I recommend this if you want a light and fast paced BL. I'm happy that kbl are growing slowly I hope someday their fellow countrymen will accept this genre. Coz kbl has a lot of potential if it's not that limited in running time. Imagine a 1 hour per episode and 10-20 episodes per kbl omoo That would be so good.
