This series has a madcap quality to it, so although there are some intense scenes there's an outrageousness to the whole enterprise that takes the edge off. You might even find yourself chuckling here and there.

All of the scene-chewing comes from the two adult leads and the student ringleader of the little gang of nasties in the classroom. This is a decidedly evil bunch of kids -- by the end of the series most of them have attempted murder -- but in accordance with the wacky rules of Asian drama and this series in particular, none of them has to account for their crimes, and in fact by the end we are meant to sympathize with them. (They are even forgiven by their chief victim, who sincerely tells them that he loves them.)

In addition there are jaw-dropping plot developments that I haven't even hinted at. You will have to watch the series to experience them -- and I do recommend that you do that, although I caution fans of hardcore thrillers that most of what you see is so over the top that it's hard to take seriously.

As entertainment, though, this series does the job and will keep you watching. I binged it in one afternoon. In my book that deserves an automatic 8/10.

Not what I expected but still fun

I went into this expecting a completely different type of story but still wasn't disappointed.

-STORY- 6.5
The story was definitely not on the level of plottwists that I expected from the first episodes onwards. The situation of the class wasn't very complicated, likely due to the limited episodes. It does have some unexpected moments but the way they are resolved feels more like lucky occurances. I guess this drama teaches that trying to be smart is a waste when luck determines most outcomes.

-ACTING/CAST- 8
If you're looking for a reason to watch this drama, this is it. The actors start off kinda quirky but when they have their moments they shine in sheer insane acting. Highly entertaining. At some point I started thinking some characters were underacting but they were really just being normal humans in comparison to some of the most insane ones.

Yoshizawa was honestly an amazing character and despite some of the more insane acting I could really feel his emotions shine through his performance when needed. The students are okay, ranging from interesting to just normal acting. Asahi certainly has a lot of energy and I enjoyed his performance, sometimes it was a bit too much but I mostly thought it was funny. The acting from these characters made the drama very fun to watch at times.

One thing to mention is that I could never take the scary moments serious. There are some scenes that are supposed to instill fear but thanks to the extreme expressions of some actors I never quite felt any real threat in the show. The scary moments became more like funny moments at times to me as unlikely events happen a lot. Sure there are some genuinely serious scenes but those aren't nearly as memorable.

-MUSIC- 8
Music fits the scenes very well at all times. One of the BGM tracks with violins was my favorite, it would always play when the teacher just made some impressive statement.

-REWATCH- 6
While I would rewatch some of the more iconic dramatic scenes, not much more than that. Especially episode 6 has some great scenes for rewatching.

-OVERALL- 7.5
Story kept me entertained throughout. Went differently than I expected but I don't mind the chaos of the last few episodes since the acting is so fun.

A really crazy and unique watch

This show is really something, its outright crazy and doesn't even try to keep its absurdities hidden, if I really want to describe it I'll call it CRAZY.
The story is really something, the first half followed a regular thriller fomular, it introduces its characters(which are all crazy and blatant psychopaths) and the conflict at hand, but the second half is just really goofy, lol, the twists, it totally shifts the tone of the first half, you will laugh at absurd nature of it all, but despite this, it was really fun.
A major highlight of the show are the performances of Kei Tanaka, Yuki Yamada and Fumiya Takahashi, these three were really fun to watch, they held nothing back, and they were able to show how messed up their characters are, what surprises me the most is that this is Fumiya's first role after his Kamen Rider tenure and he really did not dissappoint.
But the most consistent plus of this drama is the ost, the BGMs were really good, and the ending song sund by Kiro Akiyama is really catchy.
Honestly, the issues I had the show is how the tone and overall nature of the show shifted in the second half, and also I'm still curious on how exactly those students got away with every single thing they did even to the end, but it's anime logic, students get away with everything, so I don't really have a problem with that.
It was acsolid watch just get ready to throw all logic away( especially in the second half) and enjoy it for what it is.

An Absolute Masterpiece

I ended up watching this drama because of Kei and I have no regrets, I’m so glad I watched this drama because it’s not just interexting it’s also full of suspense and there’s really so many things you wouldn’t expect to happen, I loved how mad Asahi made me, I came up to hate him but also I appreciate the hate I have for him because this means that he did an amazing job on acting.

I was amazed by the resistance that Yoshitsune had on everything that has been done to him, I felt so bad for him since he had to overcome all that pain but at the same time I loved the surprised expression that the students and Asahi had while watching they’re plans failing over and over again.
The fact that Toya took quite a lot of times to understand that he was on the wrong side and the fact that his crew continued to do those bad things to Yoshitsune even after what he told them…. well, those things quite pissed me off but they also made the story more enjoyable.

The acting was superb, I love how Japanese act in they’re movies or dramas and in this specific drama they’re expressions were pure GOLD, especially Asahi’s, his personality development is something that I sincerely loved like crazy.

The plot was something that I didn’t expect at all, I really liked it and I was so happy that at the very end Yoshitsune could spend his “life” with Shizuka, truly lovely.. just- Sad that Asahi didn’t died but is surely the start of a new chapter.

Literally nani tf

The show has 2 chapters. It started really great, I was hooked and ready to recommend it to others. It has a strong interesting premise but things got batshit crazy during chapter 2. Did the screenwriter lose ideas? Or is it really meant for a parody show?

I stay for the acting performances. They are a team of good actors. Tanaka Kei and Yamada Yuki are versatile. I have known them from their previous works. Yamada Yuki never fails to deliver his crazy character. I enjoyed watching him being extra and all-out. In addition, the kids were immensely great too.

People may have different opinions on this. Some might be liking it and I was in the between. Neither I like nor dislike. It is just quite disappointing because I put an expectation and anticipated it.

i made an account to write this review

show sucked. the lessons were nonsensical and downright pretentious. the reviews were decent so i gave it a shot but oh boy was i up for a huge disappointment.

first of all, i understand that they wanted to go in a crazy manga or anime direction, but this show was just so underwhelming in cinematography, acting, music and even the plot, to the point that it was comparable to a college student production. it tried too hard to be deep and meaningful but it just came off as, like i mentioned earlier, nonsensical and pretentious. i mean, just a change of angles and lighting, could have geared the show towards the direction they so obviously aimed for, but in the end the entire thing became odd and underwhelming. many things did not make much sense and the characters actions were extremely unrealistic and shallow. honestly every single character in this show lacked common sense.

one good thing about it however, was that despite how poorly produced and thought out it was, it was an entertaining watch. the plot became surprising and it had ridiculous scenes, so i imagine it would be a good watch for a group of friends to enjoy together. i would write this properly with more depth and all but its 4am and i cant believe i just watched all that alone hoping it would get better with every episode.

tldr give it a shot if you like edgy pretentious shows or want something to marathon with friends without paying too much attention to, otherwise dont expect anything out of it unless you’re like 16 or just want to watch something while eating

seriously weird mix

seriously weird show and becomes more so as it goes on but it did fasinate me〜first half seems serious rational mystery thriller but second half is completely weird ’supernatural’ with twists and turns and endings I am not sure if intended to be serious and chilling supernatural or comical 〜really becoming comical for me!it did keep me waiting to see what happens next almost hypnotically 〜good if you like this sort of drama and can tolerate the strange mix I would not completely dismiss it as ridiculous though it verges on it

What an interesting plot!

First, I would like to say that the author was very creative to come up with a great plot like this. I like the mood of the story, the secret revealing steps even most of them are predictable. The main character is a man who is a new teacher of this school. Each student he taught would have a different kind of background problem they need to hide from other students. This movie shows a lot of problems are relateable in our real life. The man would have an equation for each lesson he taught. Those equations are not ordinary maths or physics but action and emotion. I like this part a lot. It helps me think of things more conciously.

The character selection are very suitable. All the characters are played very well. When they are sad, I can feel their sadness. But I still don't get why should the antagonist do that. Maybe the background story for that was too weak for me.

But there is one thing I don't like about this movie is the ending. I don't like how the man need to be like that. Antagonist should not end like that too! I feel unfair for the man who tried so hard to educate and make the bad ones realise what have they done wrong but that is what he get in return? That is a very weird ending. I was disappointed for it.

For those who are looking for something entertaining, this movie can be the one but I just want to tell you that you might feel little awkward with the ending. But overall is good!

Take it lightly don't go in having high hopes

the whole drama is the phrase "never let them know your next move" n I love it for that. Listen it has it's high moments, if you're looking for a serious Japanese thriller I would recommend watching something else, I liked it because its trying to take it's self too seriously that it's funny. but it has some good quotes in it I think could mean something to you if you have experience them or think about them. It's an essay watch that makes you laugh and absolutely lose your mind because of how over the top it is.
