Fish Story (2009)

While fish story also has a music/band element it is not the main focus of the story. Both movies are basically about life and the struggle and how small things can make all the difference.

a lot of things are happening in the beginning. but all parts will make sense near the ending. both are really awesome movies

Fish Story is obviously not a zombie movie but the ending of that movie is as epic as in One Cut of the Dead. Both are cult classic in the making.

ok, it's not a direct recommendation, the movies differ, notably in the case of music - Fish Story is about music, See You is definitely not. But there are some links: time span, Hamada's similar role, general climax, different stories involved.

Totally different stories, but the same level of awkwardness and positive emotions, word plays and misunderstandings and one more does of awkwardness.
Both features some art whether music or Manga and a really good soundtrack.
