Look at all the cute pets . . keep looking . .
You know the old saying about kicking a puppy? Yes, that’s you if you don't like this show because it really piles on the cute pets and eulogise on and on about keeping them responsibly.Essentially, this show is a collection of many pet related vignettes which are loosely linked together within the pet hospital setting. The problem is that the A-plot regarding the ML’s identity is meh. By the half way mark, everything is known to us. It becomes rather tedious to watch the rest of the ensemble stumble onto the truth many hours later.
The show could have benefited from an intense love line, but we ended up with a slow burn. The OTP is preordained but their chemistry is only passable. The show ran through the usual gambit of dating tropes, but nothing works. We watch the OTP dancing the Two-Step with each other for 30eps before something finally happens. This is not helped by the endless shenanigans cooked up by the SM/FL to try to sabotage them. The second leads just won't take NO for an answer. This is particularly true for the SFL. She took puppy love to infinity and beyond! It tests credulity and my patience. Regardless, their meagre efforts are transparent and ineffective.
All that changes towards the end of the run when the melodrama dial is turned up to the MAX. We are hit with a wave of tropes which viewers of typical family sagas will recognise at 100 paces. Luckily, the writer took pity on us and spare us a prolonged torture session. By the time normal programming resumes, the show has run out of puff and we stumbled over the finish line while singing Kumbaya. I barely noticed the herd of unicorns waiting for their checkups by our resident vets.
Acting is workmanlike on the whole. The script is not particularly kind to the FL with her behaving like a hapless and naïve girl for way too long. On the other hand, the ML is the hive mind and he is always ready with a “I told you so”. While he is handsome and charismatic, he can look bored and feels flat at times. The large ensemble cast did their job to move the plot along, mostly in the right direction.
In the end, the show is harmless and watchable but there is not a lot there to lift it above pass grade. The script is a millpond with the odd splash. Your mind will drift and want to hit the FF button. Unless you are a pet lover then there are plenty of dopamine hits. One time watch for me.
P.S. What's with the ML's hair? Does it need a session with Tian Yu Xian?

Extremely frustrating Series ლ(ಠ益ಠლ even for ZTao's fans !
1/ The storyline is stupid and full of nonsense!- the attitude of owners with their dogs: “to show my attention, I will wash you every day”, purebred Malinois babies are abandoned in China??, etc.
- the FL's behavior is irrational/idiotic: you don't have to be intelligent to study in China's veterinary school ? She's just naive, "everyone is nice" type of girl, has no management skills but won't admit it, ... and is super aggressive towards her investor. Seriously ?? The FL only makes peace with the ML (who's saving her clinic) from episode 6 on.
- The screenwriter and the director have probably never had animals and have never set foot in a veterinary clinic, given the number of Bull**its ideas there are in the drama.
2/ The dialogues are flat, full of clichés...
3/ Employees are all caricatures.
4/ The break-up with the FL and the marriage (interrupted at the last minute) with FL2 are nonsense (not counting Sheng Mi's secret, an aberration, resolved as if it were a normal thing...)
- Z TAO: I have been a fan of his for a long time, but why did he agree to appear in this drama??? Probably because he loves dogs (he has one, adorable). That being said, you should still read the script!! (๑•ิཬ•ั๑)
Moreover, I know that ZTao likes this type of hairstyle, but the volume is too much (does he want to keep a beehive on the head or something ?)
=> It's really hard to get hooked on this series 〣( ºΔº )〣
=> I wanted to go untill the end in FF and with a lot of skipping, but I suffered!

Regardé pour Ztao et un magnifique samoyède :) Mais cette série est extrêmement frustrante ლ(ಠ益ಠლ
=> Dur d'accrocher à cette série 〣( ºΔº )〣
De plus, je sais que ZTao aime ce type de coiffure, mais le gonflant est too much (il veut se recycler dans la choucroute ?)
=> J'ai voulu aller au bout en FF et avec beaucoup de zapping, mais j'ai souffert !

Boring
Many times i thought to drop it but i liked the female lead that's why I watched it . Male lead acting was bored instead of him ,second lead was better ,the one who played the role of his cousin .Concept was good but i think it was not well written . Otherwise direction was good . Watch it at your own risk . Literally it had not charm . I didn't feel sympathy towards male lead's character story . Other co stars acting were good. One more couple i liked who worked in the veterinary hospital and they were little bit aged.

Love this drama to the moon & back!!!!
This is my first drama on pet hospitals/clinic and all the staff goes through to take care of their love ones. I love how the writer picked each actor/actresses in their role. I can tell they put a lot of effort into it. The twist to the story threw me off for a minute but it was well put back together. Thank you all for your amazing talents in this drama. Z. Tao: you are really looking good now. I almost thought you were a brother the way you are stacked up!!!!! Good to see you all again. Be safe. Was this review helpful to you?
Fluffy, but repetitive and boring
I love fluff, I love the male lead and I love clichés but non of this can save this drama as it is repetitive boring, predictable and has 0 contact with reality making me wonder if the writer ever met an animal, much less a vet.The leads are actually pretty decent, the annoying characters and elements are surprisingly low and the realtinships in this are actually not bad. But there is this whole detective theme to this that makes me wonder when the vets actually have time to heal animals if they are off exploring mysteries all the time.
I really do want to watch this, just so I can finally see the leads fess up to their emotions but something tells me Ill have to sit thrugh another 14 episodes of nothing interesting to get there and I doub't it will be worth it as their chemistry is just not that great to begin with...

dropped midway
watched halfway. lost interest. jumped to past few eps just to see ending.casting wise honestly i dont really like this FL. but thats just my personal preference. i feel like her acting is very…. meh. i dont really feel any particular way abt ML either
i like the staff in the vet hospital though. cute. ?
there’s really nothing fantastic abt the show and i think it is 100000% way too long. i felt like even though i had dropped midway and watch last 3 episodes, i basically wasnt lost as to what happened. whcih means alot of it was unnecessary.

Get your facts straight
So anytime there is a drama with veterinarians in I’m totally on board. I spent 45 yrs in veterinary medicine and it drives me crazy when they don’t put any effort in getting the medical parts correct. At least get the EKG correct on the monitor when the patient is under anesthesia, they have an alive cat getting a c-section flat lined and a several hour surgery which should take 1/2 hour tops . Also, WTF? Touching the patient with “sterile” gloves then picking up the instruments?! Ok, that being said I’ll keep watching if for no other reason, they have a veterinary hospital in itWas this review helpful to you?
Pets are a life long responsibiliy, and a lesson for life
I watched this drama slowly, on the one hand because of interruptions by other activities, on the other because of more interest in another small drama. I never skip but it is true that there was much repetition and that the "secret" was out of the bag too early to be really thrilled by the second half development. The purpose of raising awareness about responsibility for adopted pets was worthy. It was developed into "case studies" that really showcased the chosen pets.
The drama could perhaps have been more realistic about some vet care, but on the whole, it pinpointed some facts. For instance, the relatively small number of guide dogs in China, but also a warning against seeing those as "workers" that could be used for years in demanding jobs such as guiding paralympic runners. Some care that actually amounts to mistreatment...
For those who want to know more about the "guest star animals", I have added a list of them, with episode number, and pictures, in the Discussion section, with an appendix listing the pets of some chosen Chinese celebs.

For the newbies and some hailang, on the eve of Singles day 11.11
here is an introduction to Z.Tao's music and a first Profile of the ML of "My Precious " (who played a role he is familiar with in real life!), illustrated, with links to more music and some fashion, luxury (incl. explanation of what some saw as a cryptic line in the song "Promise").
These are parked in the (always hidden, newbies have to be curious to find it, although it is not that difficult) Discussion section of "My Precious" drama. (Since MDL provides the introductions to dramas and shows, I have not (yet) added descriptions and links to those in this Profile, but you might nevertheless find it more useful than the ultra short bio and list of screen appearances on Z.Tao's page). I may expand on that in the future, and move the resulting Profile somewhere else later.
