7.5 rating? Damnn!

I almost missed this little gem here because of the low rating here. Phew~ luckily i watched it and i damn enjoyed it. No its not a perfect series and there is lots of flaws. Dramatic but those warmth added to the show raised its flavour. Its a really enjoyable show and the main couple has exploding chemistry. Do not be deterred by the sypnosis of the main leads possibility of being blood related siblings and expect something melodrama that will crash the whole show. I was almost too scared to watch because of this but its nothing that bad about it. Its overall quite light hearted and how the main leads fall in love is natural and don't feel forced which i liked about. Its like every episode has a few small story about their client whom want to take the paternity test, not all story is good however all this little story shows us the real side of the main leads and that every problems does not appear to be just how it looks and has more depth into it. Just like how we should not judge a book by its cover, real life issue has multiple facet so we shouldnt be too quick to judge.

Anyhow i really enjoy this show. enjoyment value for is 10/10. Not everyone will enjoy as much as i did but if i have to give a rating for this show excluding my personal enjoyment and just how this show fare i will still give a minimum rating of 8. Its short and sweet, fast paced but not too fast. I am writing this review so that more people will give this show a shot and not drop it due to the low rating here.

CIAOS~

DO NOT SKIP SUCH AN AMAZING MEDIUM LENGTH DRAMA!!!

Let me start by saying I first saw this drama on the "Fresh Drama" YouTube page. If you are familiar you may know that many of those shows are hit and miss (usually misses). Bored with nothing else to do I gave this a shot and I am so glad I did.

I have watched a few works from the ML so I was excited to see a familiar face and despite seeing the FL for the first time I fell in love. The chemistry between the two is soooo amazing. If you are into older bossy female/cute younger guy this drama is a good watch.

The overall flow and pace was good especially for a 15 episode show. I feel like enough information was packed into each episode and at no point did it ever feel draggy. Although, this is a romance I feel like it isn't a typical romance drama and by that I mean it actually had substance to it. There are no unnecessary clichéd plotlines and even some touching moments that made my eyes tear up.

Now as a spoiler....

I NEVER watch movies or dramas with incest or brother/sister, cousin/cousin, etc. plotlines because it is sick af. Before starting this drama I didn't know that the brother sister plotline would show up but the way it was done was very tasteful and didn't make me feel uncomfortable to watch (spoiler they aren't related).

I almost missed it

This is one of the most entertaining dramas I watched so far. Both the Male Lead and Female lead are on equal foooting. If anything, the Female lead is a stronger person. The story around DNA testing is interesting. In this drama they give you the when, how and why. The drama shows people that there're consequences for ones actions, some good and some are bad, There are some seriously funny parts in this drama.

Cheistry between the cast members is great! Dong Ning Shu and Zhang Xi Da have a natural rhythum. Producers did not rush into making a romance. They layed the foundation first and then proceeded with the romance. For once the Producers did not have the ML be a rich, arrogant, get in ones face, yank the female around male lead: nor was the female lead a mumbling, you can get in my face, weak minded female (which you see in so any of the Chinese dramas)

This is a well done drama. The ending is a tear jerker. It approched certain subject delicately and it was rude nor scarery. Like I said I almost miss watching it. It is only 15 episodes long.

I highly recommend people watch this. I will watch it again.

Good mini noona romance drama

First of all nice to see plot different from daily trashy ceo contract marriage cliches........
though over the top incidence resulting in paternity disputes stories were there the backstories were nicely depicted............. No usual Machine voice over of actors was such a relief. Ml and fl had smoking chemistry had hot kisses...........................................................................................they both acted naturally. I am surprised how come i have not seen them in main stream dramas yet.i was sad for fl mothers story though

The writer and the intro maker must have losed their mind

Let me start from the point of intro. Intro literally shows 18+ scene half of it. So I as a normal watcher thought it to be a mature drama and i was all in for it. But for god sake ...they did not even kissed more than 4 times in 15 epi and all those red colour bed scene was I really dont know from where?? Like they didnt even kissed in the bed.
- lets go to the story. what a bullcrap thing were they showing. in which country does the paternity testing lab works so . They just have to give out result not to investigate it. So cringe. And literally in even case they have shown the men evil and they made us only view the females objective even if the female cheats in the particular case.
- I did not like how the ML mother was show completely innocent even after knowing everything and hooking up with her bestfriends ex husband. And she knew her bff and her daughter was innocent but she still kicked her daughter out when she was in Need. Being a women does'nt give you the right to do anything.
- the male lead was extremely immature. He literally sold privacy of the people coming for paternity test( which is a very sensitive topic) for his lame online book. he was'nt even got fired for it.
the only good thing was extremely likable FML. Smart and not clingy.
NOT AT ALL WORTH YOUR TIME

Compelling drama about science, society, self-discovery and love

The alternative title of this series is Paternity Appraiser. I never thought a modern, medium length cdrama shown on Youtube could be this compelling and thought-provoking.

What I liked:
1) Plot - This drama is quite science-y since it is set at DNA testing centre but I love how the testings were centred on different types of human conflicts. My favourite case is the liver disease patient. So heartbreaking
2) Ningshu characterisation - She's a well-written female lead. I love that she's rational, no-nonsense and understands her self-worth. My only gripe with her character is the way she broke up with Xi Da.
3) Xi Da characterisation - I enjoy watching his character development. He started off as a childish, never serious author doubling as sales person for the centre. As the show progressed, he took his role at the centre seriously and had tone down his immaturity while still remaining goofy. My only gripe with his character is when he showed off his blind dates in the hopes of making Ningshu jealous or angry. I don't like it when one intentionally hurt the other.
4) Supporting characters - It's amazing to see supporting characters such as Zhu Si, Wei Ai Yun, Ma Li Jun and Liang Zi Yang got backstories. They too had challenges to overcome and I love the atmosphere at the Anhe department lead by Ningshu.
5) Romance - I love watching how writer emphasised on older female/younger male romance theme when in real life, actress Xu Xiao Han is only two years older than actor Wanyan Luo Rong. Ningshu slowly opened up to Xi Da and realised her feelings for him. I wish they were kissing scenes before the breakup because the kissing scene when they were hurting was heartbreaking.
6) Ma Li Jun - It's weird that I am saying this but I like how his character is written. Cunning ex boyfriend who wouldn't take no as answer. His reason for wanting Ningshu back in his life caught my by surprise.

What I disliked:
1) Lighting - Outdoor scenes that were shot at night were difficult to watch. I wish the production had adjusted the lighting or corrected it during post-production.
2) Xi Da's mum - Gosh, I think what she did is worse than what Ma Li Jun did. She seemed harmless but she hurt 4 people.

Favourite scene
When Xi Da exited the lift and consoled Ningshu. I knew that misunderstanding would happen haha.

What did I just watch...

A heavy subject matter was handled as an idol drama and this is the result...How the hell does some of the viewers might find this good? Every episode the kid (ML) was almost drooling in excitement when there was a case of a paternity test that could destroy families and relationships. He seems to be having fun throughout the show. He was immature and insensitive from beginning to end with no character development. Unless you are a teenager, no grown-ass professional woman would fall for a kid that plays games. There was a reason why this show is only 15 episodes, it must have been cut short. Also, what's with siding with the woman through all the cases they had, depicting the men that felt betrayed as being petty and vindictive? Can the show be not so biased!!
