Another show that Mnet almost ruined
Note: This is solely my opinion on the show, if you want to create an opinion before judging mines I would suggest you watch the show.(Spoilers!)
I first got into SWF when I saw it on TikTok and it looked pretty interesting. Also, as a dancer of 6-7 years anything that has to do with dance competitions gets me immediately hooked. I’ll start first on the judges, I feel like the show should’ve actually chosen famous choreographers or people who are well respected in the dance community instead of K-pop idols who would probably help the show gain some popularity cause what k-pop fandom wouldn’t support the group members or their favorite solo artist. Second, the music, it was okay to be honest but there were times during the dance battles where if I was probably on stage I wouldn’t know what to do but I would have to give a big applause to the dancers who despite the lack of music in some episodes were able to add their own sense of style. There was one battle between Aiki and someone else (i forgot) but Aiki got this really girly song it was just bad music to freestyle to but she did really well and was able to make her dancing styles stand out despite the song which is really hard to do for some dancers. Finally, the drama, I will not lie the only drama I was actually into was the CocoNButter and HolyBang drama. But after that ended, there was more drama that try to start up that was not it at all. I understand that it was Mnet’s terrible editing to make certain people seem toxic or catty. As a person, who watched this for the dancing I took nothing from it and it just ended up being an overly edited reality show to me. In conclusion, I’m glad I stuck by the whole thing.Though the show was an mediocre watch, I was able to learn about new dance groups and I’m also searching for more dance shows.
K, bye :)
P.S. I think there’s a Chinese version for this which has Wang Yibo in it (which is probably the reason I might watch it) I’ve heard good things about it.

I had already heard of some of the dancers, like Honey J and Hyojin Choi but the show introduced me to a lot of new faces and it was cool to see everyone's dance styles and the crews perform.
The first episode was probably the worst - with some of the camera work in the dance battles really bad where you couldn't even see the dancing properly but it got better after. I think it's the same production crew that does SMTM because they use the same sound effects and so it's understandable that the filming was rough at the beginning if they're not used to filming dance battles.
I probably wouldn't rewatch the entire show, but there were iconic moments that I would happily rewatch and you can find the performances on Youtube. Overall this is a good show to watch if you're at all remotely interested in dance. There is some drama too (because of course it's reality TV) but honestly that sort of fades and I feel like the dancers genuinely cheer each other on which I liked.
It's a 7.5 to 8 for me, but I'll round it up since there were some truly great dance battles in this show.

A Shoutout to Female Dance crews all around South Korea
While yes the show tends to focus on the drama within the contestants it sticks to it's core of giving exposure to the dance groups. We can now see how the landscape of these dance crews has widen: through the success of Street Woman Fighter - Dancers are given exposure through variety shows, invited at talk shows, they are even given their own concerts and tv shows. It warms my heart to see these groups and dancers in general to be widely loved and appreciated by the public. The 8 groups that participated have opened a new pathway for many dance crews, as the impact of this show has not only reached South Korea but also world wide. The show is also somewhat educational and eye-opening, As us the audience are being introduced to the different styles of dancing through the performances of all the groups. I personally am mesmerized with the mechanics of Hip-hop and b-boying.
Although Mnet made it seem like the groups despise eachother - We do see through many moments and their many guestings with each other that this is clearly not the case, We love women who support eachother.
My favs (which no one asked for) were PROWDMAN, LACHICA and HOOK. PROWDMAN came of to me as this powerful and very diverse group, the crew always kept me in my toes as they were very unpredictable throughout the show. I also admire how the crew sticked to their morals and didn't try to conform into the mold of what was 'trendy' [monika pls marry me]. HOOK on the other hand always had happy vibes, whenever you watch their performance you immediately recognize their style, their creativity and concepts shine the most whenever they are on stage. Lastly LACHICA although yes I was one of the people who were put off - of how they were presented at the beggining of the show, yet we can see gradually how loving and caring this group is especially towards the other contestants. They had this popular appeal in a sense that they know what the audience want and they delivery it through their style, Although sometimes cliché - I loved how their performances would always leave you mesmerized.
Let's continue to support these crews through the many shows they will be in!!

This Show is More About Drama Then Dancing.
First off as a Mnet Show There is Major Editing/ Drama. If you are someone who wants a good juicy show with a lot of catty fights then I think this is the show for you. However, if your here for the dancing and I mean actual street dancing with technique (such as tutting/locking/popping/breakdancing/etc.)this is not the show for you. I personally suggest Chinese street dancer to watch instead.
In general the casting is centered on a lot of dancers who made good choreography and now finally has a show for more recognition, some has actual street dance competition experience yet a lot of them lacks actual technique level to be in major street dancing competition and are more good as idol dancing.
The show itself lacks actual street dance culture.. and judges also host who are mainly idols (I’m a big fan of them though) doesn’t hold any titles regarding street dance world.. but I do respect especially Nct Taeyoung who knows different technique levels and is a great judge.. as I mentioned before;after watching the Chinese show street dancer this show just feels like a gimmick and misleading to the actual street dancing community regarding the name.. it’s also very misleading based on the editing intent that idol dancers aren’t dancers.. (I was really mad about that) but in this show it doesn’t show their disrespect to idols but more that they know some people can’t street dance which explains “no respect” sticker. Hopefully with that statement you won’t ruin your time if you really wanted the justification, it’s simply just really good editing.
Overall it’s only had a first episode and I made this review to clarify for people who love dancing what this show is more about. I would treat it like a produce 101 series really.. have a favorite dancer help them gain more influencer recognition and lastly don’t always believe mnet evil editing. Still support the show. Thanks have a good day.

A fun, dramatic ride
This show has it all - good moves, good music, dancers who are passionate at what they do and will go all out, drama and reconciliation. And only two episodes in! Has exceeded expectations on all fronts. It’s tough to see one dancer get picked over another when they do their challenges but such is a life of a dancer. It’s interesting to see what they go through as they pursue their dreams. Looking forward to the next episode when we’ll hopefully see them doing set pieces. Well done to all involvedWas this review helpful to you?

This show uses song called azan.Azan is the Islamic call for prayer .But this event uses it.For me this event already knows about this because he chose an unpopular song and this song has also been titled azan.Possibly he wants to look down on my religion. And this show make my religion quarrel.I hope many of people can make this show look bad. Please be fair.I don't touch your religion so don't touch my religion.
