The epilogue or continuation to ep 36 and the ending to the series.

If you have watched 36 eps of Word of Honor, then do watch this as it wraps up the series and answers the questions you may have after ep 36. This small episode shows what happened to Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu after we last saw them in the armory. We also get to see Gao Xiao Lian's family. A happy end to the series and for WKX and ZZS. Nice to see them be together and retire from jianghu to teach the future disciples of the rebuilt four season's manor.

Ep 36 leaves off with Gao Xiao Lian calling everyone to a meal and here we see Deng Kuan (her husband) come to collect their son for the meal with mother. We see the disciple practicing 18 steps of Qiuming that only WKX knows so he is learning from WKX. ZZS turns up to instruct him and then WKX shows up to disagree with his teaching methods as he tends to do. Deng Kuan then whisks away his confused son, saying that the two of them have been fighting like this their entire lives and says that they are now immortals. In 36 we are shown that Chengling has rebuilt the manor near the ice mountains. So, all of them live nearby. Great that their family of three is still together.

I really wish they had just put this into the end of the last episode instead of making people sob thinking the worst. Lol
But this is the ending we all really deserved! Ugh I love this so much!! My emotions are all over the place. Even though it wasn't long at all, it's shocking how it made my heart feel like I'd just spent year watching it. Lol

I can't believe this show is really over now. I feel like I just had to tell some of my best friends goodbye forever. Lol It's a weird feeling. bitter sweet.

Domestic martial arts bliss

So in order not to upset chinese censors (who must be blind and deaf after not seeing or hearing much in the"bromance"; because, frankly speaking, the drama was hot and steamy in the round about way!) they give us this 11min whatever!

I was expecting a normal length episode and what I get was two songs recapping the series and a scene showing us that our heroes have become immortal and are going to live happily ever after in seclusion on top of the mountain practicing martial arts and loving each other! Eeeerk! This additional scene moreover, contradicts in everything last 10 min of the drama and the fan guy's monologue explaining he was going to become powerless if not dead.

They were pretty to look at, dancing around each other in the glittering snow and with sparkling sun above them wrapping them in a halo of immortality! They had gone through so many trials and have earned their place in the land of happily ever after!

Never mind! The fans needed to see them being happy together so to hell with continuity just give them what they ask for!

Is it just me who sees the holes in this?

Don't get me wrong , I was relieved to see a happily ever after for them, I'm just a bit confused because it doesn't seem to go along with what was previously said. They had stated in ep 36 that the person transferring qi would either die or lose their martial arts. It seems in the end that neither happened to Kexing. His hair turned white but he's still very much alive and doing martial arts with Zishu. I'm glad to see this but I can't help but wonder if I missed something because this seems contradictory .

Big question; Deng Kun.

The final episode of Word of Honor, episode 37, was only about 11 minutes that intended to sum up the whole episodes. I wish it was the whole 40-45 minutes of episode 37 but short 11 minutes did get us resolution for ending the drama. Big question is why focusing on Deng Kun's happy ending? He's happily married man with a son under Zhao ZhuXu guidance. For Deng Kun was only appeared in bit here and there of original 36 episodes. whom did Gao Xiao Lian married to? Deng Kun or Zhang ChengLing, I can't find the statement saying one or another. We all assumed Xiao Lian married to Deng Kun but whose little girl in Cheng Ling's arms? She called him 'father'...and no other female that suggested her mother besides Xiao Lian existence around the gathering. It puzzled me indeed, I looked up the book, the final wasn't the same adaptation as the drama.

Anyway, I am happy for Zhao ZhiXu and Wen KeXing final, they found happiness that they long deserve, live together for along time in the freezing cold high mountain cultivating without bother with outside word. I could imagine the life they have together, because Ah'Xu health (and Lao Wen's circumstances) they needed to be together to help each other with tying in what Ye BaiYi thought Wen KeXing one way only to treat Ah'Xu sickness. As Wen KeXing kept saying he wanted to grow old together with ZhuXu.....

The final of episode, we can see that Four Season Manor became prosperous where everyone live and study in Four Season Manor. Cheng Ling was the head of sect, not just he's the main disciple of Zhou ZhuXu and Wen Kexing but he's also the sole last disciple of Long Que (Master of Long Yuan Pavilion) and son of Zhang Yu Sen [Jing Hui Mountain Pavilion leader]. With starting up the sect (young-children students), apparently Deng Kun's son was the best promise amongst the youngens where Zhao ZhuXu gave him direct instruction and Wen KeXing different method. Love in both men shone in lifetime as we all assumed they'd live as long as Ye BaiYi or maybe longer if they'd stay on top of freezing mountain and only eat snow and drink cold water. Any hint about season 2 and 3? NO! It's declared by the Chief Producer Ma Tao in the interview, a concert was the last tribute to the fans...I am the big fan of Simon Gong Jun and see it now how beautiful Zhang Zhe Han is..he has the feature of delicate and beauty that we missed from his previous dramas. Love you, Simon Gong!!! He's amazing...awesome talent.

why?

I find it ridiculous to make another episode with a different ending. That just show director is confused with his own work he doesn't know what to show at the end.
I have read the book so I find it very funny
Another thing you have to pay to watch it so it's just one way to squeeze all blood from fans.
They could have just finished with the nice ending this is not even full length . I hope it doesn't become regular now
So if you want to spend money and watch what u fantasise about the two main male characters go and watch or just give it a passe

This is the real ending (please watch ep 37)

Many people think that word of honor ends in episode 36 and it's not true!

You have to look at ep 37, it will clarify many things that remain unfinished in ep 36, I can not say more to avoid spoilers

Please see WenZhou's beautiful ending and you will know ...

WenZhou are the most annoying and cute cp of all the times....

I really recommend watching this drama, it is beautiful, from the actors, till the director and the crew put a lot of them into making the drama, and you can see the love especially between the protagonists. I will never tire of recommending this drama, they completely got my loyalty ...

I was confused until I found this

So I expected this short piece to give me answers after watching Ep 36 on Netflix and assuming that was the end. I found ep 37 on Viki and got more questions than answers. Why would they change the duo's ending which contradicted with the info we received in ep36? Then I went on reddit and a user linked this "theory" https://manggaetteokkie.tumblr.com/post/646677760420478976/broadcast-version

I'm not familiar with the language so I can only believe what others say. I do think it makes sense even if they can't find proof from Ye Baiyi's lines on screen.

Hope this gives you a better sense of conclusion as it did for me.
