Disappointing for me.(:
You know that feeling when, after watching a series, you regret that you started watching it? So this is exactly my case. I'm quite surprised how many people love it and how highly rated it is online. It was too slow and boring. Chemistry of the main characters nothing-much. Wrong choice of the main actress. I find her so childish, emotionally immature! The series suffers from many boring parts, individual episodes could have been cut into the usual half-hour pieces. Somewhere after the eleventh episode, I simply gave up on the series. I'm sorry, I don't like to write bad reviews and I usually try to cover it up but....Was this review helpful to you?
Good chemistry simple plot
This is a show that you should watch when you have nothing to watch in particular. You can just do your other chores while watching it in background. It is slowburn but pleasing especially in the beginning. There are all the normal tropes like family drama, sizzling chemistry, beautiful cast, foreign location, good score...yet it lacks in storyline. You will feel it after sometime. In the beginning you will be in trance the way FL and ML interact and believe me it is pretty real. Every little interaction, those subtle fidgeting moves and talking through eyes will definitely melt your heart but that is all. What lacked for me- I do not really connect with this sport (snooker/billiards ) first of all. For me it is a rich people's game like golf and I just don't feel any sports vibe from it. There is no adrenaline that you usually feel in this genre. Plus side cast is as usual pretty bland. They are there so that they can play the cupid for main lead. I was especially irked with FL's brother the way he was so obsessed with ML especially in the beginning, if they had put a bl tag I would have totally believed his actions in that way. Let me tell you NO BROTHER in this world would behave like that the way he was behaving. He was literally forcing the ship between his sis and ML. Anyway, you can give it a go to see the chemistry, or if you are the fans of main leads or just to enjoy beautiful location of Finland. There is nothing amazing or boring about it. It is a simple romantic drama with a touch of sports genre. Was this review helpful to you?
BEST CHINESE MODERN ROMANCE DRAMA!!!
I have watch Chinese modern romance drama, but this is the BEST. From the actors/actress, story line, acting and the beautiful places. A drama worth watching again and again.Leo acting is superb, his love for Mai, I can feel it while watching it. The way Leo look, kiss, hug & take care of Mai, is every girls dream from a guy. LEO IS A GREEN FLAG.
After watching the first episode, I was already hook and can’t wait for the next episode. A breath of fresh air from common Chinese and Korean drama.
There is no typical 2nd lead actress that would fight for Leo’s love to Mai.
Highly recommended drama. I can watch it all over again.
Please another Leo & Mai modern drama. More kisses, joke!!!

The First Chinese Drama I Rated Perfect Stars
Role's Character - All the actors play their roles well. Personally, I like the character Xiaodong here. In the first 5 episodes, I thought he would strongly oppose his sister's relationship with the main lead. But unexpectedly, Xiaodong's character actually has a significant role in the development of the main relationship.Sports - They took the sport theme seriously. The author embeds many details related to Billiards so that viewers can enjoy the sports aspect of this series. People who are not familiar with billiards will be enthusiastic to learn about this sport. For instance, we realize that the author has an additional goal of raising public awareness about this underrated sport that hasn't gained much popularity. Since watching this, I've started looking into billiards, such as the basic rules during matches and the playing techniques.
Romance Development - I love how there's no unnecessary love-conflicts in the main role's romance development. Where you used to waatch series with triangle-love, unrequited love, couple that still lingered in their gloomy past, family conflict, extreme parental opposition, etc. Istead, this series shows so much green light vibes that make audience enjoy the watch. No stressful feeling is what i like the most about this series.
On-going relationship - The story is beautifully written by the author and neatly executed by the producers. There are tiny details that related to our real life. sleepcall & making a private account/second account to confide about love-life is something that we often to do in real life when we have a crush and lowkey want to talk about them in your private account. You couldn't find much about this detail in other series i bet.
Musics - I'm not too concerned with the songs in this series. However, there are some background music and instrumental tracks that are very pleasant to listen to and soothing to the heart.

This show should be entitled, 'Leo Wu Being Ridiculously Romantic For 30 Episodes'
I don't have many complaints except the title doesn't do justice to the actual content of the show. This show is really just Leo Wu's character being ridiculously romantic and dreamy-eyed for 30 episodes. Yes, there was also a compelling, cohesive story/plot. Also yes, everyone else / the rest of the cast did a great job, the direction was great, the cinematography was great, the script/dialogue was REALLY great. Overall, great show. The first 5 episodes, as others have mentioned, are a bit slow. Episodes 6-14 pick up the pace regarding the romance. Romance is the story, so billiards and pool as the background canvas for the story felt secondary but not an afterthought. It was executed well and I learned a bit about the sport.
But everything was a far, far second place to Leo Wu wooing the FML. If you enjoy romance as the main story, this one is your absolute best bet for 2024 (so far)

LOVE LOVE and LOVE
For the first 3-4 eps, the story is quite slow. But gradually the pace slowly picked up!! and once the pace is nice, you just cant stop watching it.. like 1 ep to another just keep making you dont wanna stop. I love the chemistry between the ML and FL.. i love how the casts are selected, like they are all goodlooking fellass.. especialy Meng Xiaodong.. I love his look and his character. Sadly they didnt get him with Lin Lin at the end. I was waiting for their part tho. And I expected them to have children already after that 3 years of Marriage. Was this review helpful to you?
Perfect
As I mentioned in the previous post:I met Zhao Jin Mai (Yin Guo) in A Little Thing Called First Love (2019) and her work was incredible.
If she had a 1st ML like Leo Wu (Lin Yi Yang) at that time it would be great, even though they couldn't have kissing scenes.
-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------
Now I will comment on the show: The worst show of 2024!
Why?
Only 30 episodes: OMG! That's not fair.
I watched episode 30 in 5 days to make it take longer to finish.
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------
This is the perfect Show, it should have 100 episodes.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
Hidden Love (2023) has been won.
-------------------------------------------------- -
I'm scared that watching another show will destroy my peace.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- --
Datasheet:
Rational
Dynamic
No clichés
Love triangle only on paper
rational mother and father

I ask:
Drama Writers, Directors and Financiers. Why not create more intelligent works like this?
After watching this show and encountering those stupid, ridiculous and annoying things that assault the brain it's unfortunate when we encounter that type, or when everything is fine and they destroy everything.
-------------------------------------------------- ------
There is not enough praise for the acting of Zhao Jin Mai (Yin Guo) and Leo Wu (Lin Yi Yang).
I don't know if the word CHEMISTRY is enough for them.
-------------------------------
The clues against Lin Yi Yang: All false, because it was all very rational. We are used to crazy dramas where everyone is against the 1st ML.
Father
Mother
Brother
Puppy

Oh my gosh, the chemistry!
A lot of people complained that this show was slow, which worried me. C-dramas aren't my favorite, because they tend to be bloated with filler, drama, unnecessary breakups, not to mention the helium-voices of the female characters. What made me decide to watch this, I have NO idea, but I'm so glad I did! There are certainly things missing from this show. Disapproving parents, irritating second leads, stupid misunderstandings that cause a long break up (there was one brief argument, but that's it), irritating-voice dubbing (though, to be fair, the dubbing of the voices of the announcers during the competitions, and when Yi Yang was singing to Yin Guo were pretty bad), evil exes coming back after years and wanting to get back together, delusional potential girlfriend/boyfriend doing anything they can possibly do to win the leads over - all of that was thankfully left out.
True, it is slow, but in this case, I loved it. It wasn't story or character driven; it was relationship driven. Leo Wu as Yi Yang and Zhao Jin Mai as Yin Guo were a couple made in heaven. He sees her from afar and determines that he has to meet her. Theirs is a tentative relationship, not really knowing how to talk to one another. His stares - oh my goodness. The word "smolder" in the dictionary should have his picture next to it! Whenever he looked at her, he forgot everything around him, and I forgot to breathe. More often than not, I felt like a voyeur because of their intimate glances and comfortable skinship, They really played that up as well, with their friends always averting their eyes, leaving the room quickly, clearing their throats, etc. Their kisses weren't the best I've seen, but they weren't bad. I loved how he always wanted to be near her, or he'd hold onto her sleeve briefly. I loved how she wasn't skittish or missish. Neither had been in a relationship before, but they were learning as they went. They were respectful of each other and of the time demands required of their careers. I felt that the ending was a little rushed, but since we got so much togetherness throughout the episodes, I can't complain too much.
There was "sort of" a second couple in Yin Guo's half-brother, Xiao Dong (excellent job by Wang Xing Yue) and one of the other billiard managers. I wish they had resolved their relationship better. At the beginning it was like he had a stick up his butt and he didn't appear to like anyone or anything, but he really went to bat for Yi Yang and Yin Guo's relationship.
Filmed mostly in Finland, the scenery was beautiful, though how they managed to have so many different winter jackets is a mystery to me.
There was a LOT of talking about and showing billiards and snooker. That got to be pretty repetitive. Then there was the obligatory section toward the end that was cheerleading for China. I will just fast forward through all of that, since I will DEFINITELY be watching this again!
There was one episode that had me grabbing my tissues. Leo Wu brokenhearted about his teacher really got to me.
This, for me, was a total feel-good watch. I vacillated between secondhand embarrassment of their skinship, and just wanting to watch their relationship develop. This show made me happy, and I smiled a lot while watching it.

A youth romance that will give you butterflies in every episode ! Highly recommend!
LinYiyang is a genius ex snooker player who had retired because of a conflict at a competition and is living as a student in Finland. He meets YinGuo , an up and coming young billiards player during a snowstorm in Finland and their love story begins. This is a drama that gives you an intimate glimpse into a young couples love story from a fateful meeting, to their building attraction leading to a long distance relationship and the comeback of Lin YiYang as a professional billiards player again.
The lead couple’s chemistry and tension is INSANE and starts not even 15 minutes into the first episode. I actually haven’t experienced something like this in any drama recently ( and I’ve seen plenty ), it was giving me butterflies from the beginning episode to the end and had me glued to the screen.
The drama didn’t have the usual tropes like fighting, love- hate relationship, toxic male lead behavior, betrayal etc..instead It was actually a very real and urban depiction of how a relationship forms between two young people and the uncertainty and insecurity they face in a LDR so I really loved that.
The acting was excellent by all the young cast especially the two leads and the cinematography was just heavenly!!
I appreciate that they took time with the editing so the whole drama was beautifully shot and had a very dreamy vibe to it.
The first half of the drama focuses on the couple’s building romance and it is in the second half that billiards mostly comes into play. I enjoyed all those sequences too and the billiards scenes were mostly performed by the cast themselves, so kudos to that.
I also liked that the central focus was the lead couples relationship and didn’t deviate much into subplots.
I hope lots of people watch this drama, cos initially it didn’t seem to be my type too cos I like historical drama , betrayal, revenge etc like nobody else lol 😂
You just have to watch it to know how special this drama is ..

Might become your next comfort watch
Mind you, this is my first ever review here. I've been watching dramas since 4 years now but no drama compelled me to write a review as much as this one did. This might not be your "hidden love, "when I fly towards you, or "lighter & princess" but this can be your new comfort drama. I liked all the dramas mentioned above but this one, despite having some flaws, touched me so much.
Once in a while you watch a drama that is realistic but also has that "too good to be true" aspect that makes it a drama. It is one of them.
I can't force you to watch it ofcourse, but if you are into slow paced, love at first sight, awkward cute introverts mains, unique sport and competitions, no 3rd party breakup, mature realtionship, good side characters...then give it a go.
Happy watching!

WHAT IT IS TO FALL IN LOVE!
This is a simple love story beautifully produced. You get to watch what it is like to fall in love. Anyone who has experienced love at first sight knows this is real and not as far-fetched as cynics might think. Even though the story is simple, Wu Lei and Jin Mai made it so special, that many viewers find themselves starting over at episode 1 as soon as it ended. I certainly did! Wu Lei's gazes and stares are seductive such that I imagine if we the viewers can feel its effect what more the FL! And Jin Mai's performance as a shy girl who finds herself drawn toward this handsome man while making us feel connected to her awkward moments was perfect as Yin Guo. She played her character in a way I doubt anyone else could. The blend of shyness in her private relationship with such control as 9 ball player makes her character unique and appealing. And most of all the natural chemistry that made Wu Lei and Jin Mai bring out the best in each other created one of the most believable couples I have ever seen. They made it all seem so natural to be in love. While this is not a complex drama, it does have a plot with some conflicts but nothing that takes away from the "falling in love" vibe. Some emotional moments might not evoke happiness, but most of this drama will leave you smiling and yes....swooning.
