‘You should be scared of humans not monsters’ is always a good plot

I have seen a few reviews and I am once again surprised at how different can people view one show. I am writing this right after finishing the series. It took me some time, not because the story wasn't captivating, even tho there were some cliches (which was expected like c’mon) but because I wasn’t in the right mood for this type of show. Also, I thought that Instagram spoiled the whole thing for me so I was like ‘What's the point now’. Guys, I couldn't be more wrong. Like the ending just blows my mind. I am a big fan of monstrous things in literature or dramas so you can't kinda go wrong with me but this was a really nice execution. I loved the cast. I love the overall vibe. The mi, itary bromance. Oh c'mon, give me more. I hope we will get much more in the next season. I know there are probably many things that can be pointed out as bad but for me, it was perfect. I love it. I wanna forget it and watch both seasons again.

What's going on ?‍? I don't understand even after completing

It's not complex or not definitely it's so linear story with flow essay to predict after 3rd episode. I don't understand where season 1 team go i am like most of the main lead fealt supporting or guest role. I can't even feel the team behind the camera had a vision of season 2 while directing season 1.
Except Jung Jin Young character who is add new i don't care any other new character mainly i really don't know them. Even in returning character side after first two episodes Song Kang & Lee Jin Wook character no where to seen as of Lee Jin Wook character I would say he is a guest role not even supporting.
Go Min Si character has a presence but most of the time i felt her reason are not so clear searching for who. There Many more characters I can't even remember except Park Gyu Young character had a role no spoilers.
Overall it's a good watch but I don't know where season 1 team went and instead of creating a new thing it felt more like holywood take of master invitation only thing it different from those came form season 1 . So yeah nothing different from those series.

No Hyunsu, barely s1 cast

Since i started this show couple of days ago because my friend told me to start it because season 2 is coming soon, most of my friends already watched it and tiktok spoiled a lot of stuff too. So I knew what I was getting myself into.

But like everyone said, yes, basically Hyunsu was barely a main character in there and the story revolved mostly around the military characters. I can’t lie the beginning of season 2 was really good but then somewhere inbetween I got bored because they kept showing characters that we didn’t know and their storylines, giving them arcs and sad moments but I didn’t care about them at all!

Like that woman who was like the second boss to people in the stadium and who kept that monster hidden, I don’t know if at the end of the episode she was given this plot so we feel bad for her because I certainly don’t. I don’t even care if that’s her family, like I don’t care about her or what happens to her, same thing with her daughter.

I think the only characters that I cared about were the original casting and the 3 main characters from the military and thats about it.

I think season 2 was a filler season for season 3 and I’m expecting it to be a lot more plot based around Hyunsu and the original casting a bit more! Especially since the ending showed another character from season 1 coming back!! I’m excited!!

S2 IS good

I don't understand why people hate s2 so much. It's really good. The focus switches to Eun Yu and Yi Kyung and is meant to show what the world is like from a humans perspective and they are both still human. Hyun Su is only absent for 3 episodes in the middle but his presence is still felt. The viewer is looking for him just like Eun Yu is. Yi Kyung is such a badass character and is so fun to watch. Her scenes were all really good and so impactful. That actress is great. Eun Yu is so focused and determined I had a good time rooting for her.

Most of the green home residents don't make it but that's the point. Lots of people died at each new stage of the journey. I will say that none of the deaths were emotionally impactful because the writers didn't do a good enough job of making the characters sympathetic. I never shed a single tear in 3 seasons and there are other shows that make me cry several times in one episode. So for a show with so much death that explores the meaning of being human they really needed to dig deeper into the emotions. Other than that the story is compelling and a good watch.

Okay, we need to talk about this season

When I watched Sweet Home for the first time, it had just come out and it was my first drama. I thought it was incredible at the time and from then on it became my favorite kdrama. And like other fans, I waited anxiously (and a lot because it took years) for this new season. Buuuuut, I didn't like her.

I understand about the maturation of the characters and the drama itself, but there were several unnecessary and unconvincing deaths that in my opinion only happened to get more screen time.

Unfortunately, unlike the other season, the protagonist himself doesn't have much screen time and that really left me confused (I hope there's a reason behind it)

However, I can't deny that the ending was extraordinary with the return and one of my favorites. But that doesn't change the fact that this season is much inferior to the first. The famous: "promised everything and delivered nothing" (at least not what I expected)

Deeper Societal Messaging

I think this season was even better than season 1 simply due to the plot development. The first season I was initially really disappointed in the unrealistic nature of the monsters. However, as you keep watching through season 1 and to season 2 the justifications behind the monsters are really quite deep. There is a video on YouTube explaining all the monsters we have seen so far that I think really helps to give context. The different classification of monsters is a really interesting addition to the understanding of what the monsters really are and how Hyun Soo is so different.

This season also really delved into the broader societal impact that crisis can have. We see in just the first few episodes the chaos that fear and power have influenced the army resulting in many unnecessary deaths. I was so angry when the army was shooting at the hide and seek monster when she was not showing any signs of aggression, resulting in not only the death of 100+ civilians but also her death and the unnecessary torturing of her baby. It really shows how fear of the unknown and being in a position of power can really twist people's minds.

Overall a really strong season in my opinion, I am looking forward to season 3!

Idk how to feel

I like the character development of some characters, esp the little boy, I mean he is obvs gonna be a lil annoying and rude, he has been traumatised. Lee Eun yu development felt a bit bland, she was a bit annoying at times and I was just thinking GIRL JUST STOP FOR A SEC. Barely saw Cha hyun su. Story felt rushed, a lot of focus on the military men. I liked the little girl, and the little baby monster. I think the CGI was a lil better this time, but overall it was okay.

Even better than the first season.

If you liked the first season of Sweet Home, you will definitely like the second season. I particularly like the addition of new characters, such as Jung Jin Young's character, the character Seo Yi Kyung's daughter, and many of the characters in the Crow Brigade and the new facility. The story expands to show more of the several relationships: Cha Hyun Soo and Pyeon Sang Wook, Set Yi Kyung and her daughter, as well as Lee Eun Yoo's continued development, and the evolution of the monsters. There are some good twists and turns, and some major changes for some of the main characters ... Seo Yi Kyung especially.

I can hardly wait to see where the story will go in the next season.

Not better than S1 But let's hope for S3 to be good

Sweet Home Season 2 Episode 8 leaves us with more questions than answers. Chief Ji’s mystery feels childish in front of the Bamseom neohumans. Her husband turned and Hyun-su killed him to save Eun-yu. As for the tunnel thing, her son probably turned too and she feeds him symptomatic people like Seung-wan. She also probably wanted to feed Mrs. Oh to her hungry son. But why did she need Ye-seul to cut the lights?

And is there something to Seon-hwa’s pretence and Peter’s shadiness? Chan-young and Ha-ni may show up at the stadium though, to take down Ji’s son and Tak if he loses control. We also get the answer as to why someone as deranged as Ui-myeong doesn’t hurt Yi-kyung when she goes into labour. But this plot twist was possibly not thought of in season 1 which is why he treats her like a stranger at Green Home.

It also gives us a small explanation of why their kid is so powerful, she was possibly conceived when Ui-myeong had already started turning. It also seems that Ui-myeong convinced monster Hyun-su who had blue eyes in the mall in episode 1. This is why Hyun-su changed his mind when he came back to his human self after the car crash.

But there is one slow buildup we don’t mind – the cocoon monsters. Like Mrs. Im and the Bamseom monsters, they can control their monsterization. This means Eun-hyuk is more or less himself but powerful. They really blindsided us by not adding Eun-hyuk’s actor, Lee Do-hyun to the cast. Does this mean we will also get monster Ji-su in season 3? We don’t see her die either. The Crow Platoon has grown on us too and hope they are not all dead.

Sweet home season 2

Well it is important to mention that some characters you loved from season one will not survive and their death's is pretty early in the season. Many people also do not like this season and I admit it is not my favourite but I do think that it is still a good one - story just change a little and we get new characters.
Song Kang's hair this season!!! Perfect, I love it. I love even more chemistry between him and Go MinSi, sorry I do not see any between her and soldier.
I do not thing that it is more brutal than previous season althougth this time there is a little nudity.

Season 1 is slightly better

I absolutally loved season 1 so I was excited to see that season 3 will be out later this week. Season 2 is good but it felt like the directors ran out of ideas, especially for the monsters. In the first season all of the monsters were different and were based off of their desires but in this season a lot of them looked the same. Maybe they really did run out of new monster ideas or they were just lazy. Who knows..
I hope season 3 will have a little more than this season but just in case, I will try my best to not get my hopes up.

fast-paced plot with a look into government

This season was very enjoyable to watch since it was shorter than the first with a lot of things going on. There are less deaths to main characters than the first season. Most of the monsters lost their depth and just became one of many. There were only a couple handful that still came with a backstory.

There wasn’t much of a purpose to this season other than telling the story of what’s happening to the world outside of Green Homes. The government has fallen, and the military is trying their best to protect the survivors while struggling with their hierarchy. New characters were introduced that I personally loved very much.

The main point of this is probably the child that the firefighter had and her upbringing.
