A descent presentation of autistic syndrom and its' variables

I liked it.
I liked the way the FL portrayed attorney Woo. I liked the descency and respect towards people with autism. I liked the way the writer gave us some episodes with people with autism. I liked the whales! Of course!
I liked the actor Kang Ki Young that I've seen in light comedy series on that kind of role. I liked Lee Ji Young as the judge, the script was so witty of the episodes he was in, it showed he had lots of fun acting as judge.
Too many emotions, also. I laughed, I got sentimental, I felt for the heroes/heroines.
My personal opinion: It's worth watching it.
PS. I even looked for the healing sounds of whales on Youtube... What else is there to be?

Demasiado tierno

Whoa Whoa

I binged this in one and a half days. It was a lot of fun. I couldn't think of one thing that was wrong with it. I picked it up because I wanted something to watch something funny and it delivered. The writing of each episode's case is fantastic. The show does not directly teach you a lesson but shows many angles of one incident and makes you really think about what you're watching.
I initially didn't want to watch this because I though the main character would be annoying and that the whole story would be whacky but it's really well packaged and done like a pricey bag without a single thread out of place. I don't find the ending "ordinary" for goodness sake. It's like if bad things don't happen then a story is not realistic. I'm over depressive endings just for the sake of them, no thanks. I can look at real life if I wanted to see reality but this is not unrealistic either. The ending wraps up a lot of things in a satisfactory manner and the acting is VERY good. Park Eun Bin really did well. I could feel the character and not the actress. The entire cast was really good. Anyway, this is good. You should watch it!

Good Decision To Start Watching Drama Again After 7 Months

Story: I love how every episode has new story, and the thing even the title just Woo Youngwoo but I feel like whole HANBADA Team are main character here. Not complaining though. Eventhough the last few episode kinda (how do I say this?) lacking(?) but I was so glad it was ended nicely. And def will wait for Season 2

Acting: The acting just chef kiss! I know few might be has con with Park Eunbin's acting as autism, I can't argue with that but the emotion of the character from Happy, angry, sad, hurt, greedy etc all well delivered by the actors.

OST: The OST might be not sing along worthy but def memorable

Rewatching Value: I'm so obsessed with little gesture and details in this drama and I rewatching the episode and found a small gesture or details from the actors esp, when Junho and Youngwoo scene. ah… I will miss these two! Serve well Kang Taeoh!!

cinematography: Well I have nothing to rant from color even the CG. All just well edited!

Overall I like this drama! Hope 2024 come faster!!

A journey towards self-discovery

What you see isn't everything. Don't be blinded by what you can see. Keep in mind the essence of what lies beyond that.

This is indeed a story about Woo Young-woo, an autistic trying to navigate through life while working as a lawyer in Hanbada Law Firm. All the cases and interaction among the characters help Young-woo grows and understands herself and the world around her better. Not only Young-woo, but other characters are also shown to have a better understanding of themselves by the end of the series. Though some are less noticeable.

The process of watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo had been enjoyable and enlightening. As with other shows I watch, I went in and out of internet forums to read discussions. As expected from a series tackling various controversial issues and topics, there is ongoing debate regarding the accuracy and appropriateness of the approach. And through the stories and opinions shared by autistic people or those living with them, I gained different perspectives for me to ponder on.

So, after actively engaging myself into the discussions, I can say that I'm satisfied with how it's wrapped up. All of the characters' stories are addressed accordingly. At least I don't have to wait for any issue to be resolved in the next 2 years if season 2 does happen. I personally like how the series use the cases to build a story for Young-woo and the characters to reflect on themselves. The resolution is not always explicitly shown, some are hinted at (I'll probably write a separate piece about this later), and this is what makes the watching process particularly interesting for me.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoy watching the journey of Extraordinary Attorney Woo and her loved ones, including the whale trivia.

A worth watching drama.

I just loved the drama as an whole. It had a proper mixture of awesome story with talented cast and production team. I was completely hooked-up throughout the drama and was not bored even for a bit.

I'm totally in love with the Female lead. Such an incredible acting with proper dialogue delivery. I did not feel pity for her but I kinda found her very cute.

Even the male lead was also very handsome and cute with superb acting skills. The supporting characters were also so cool and good.

I'm not such a big fan of law related drama but I guess this was an exception for me.

I'm surely goona watch the drama again and also want to recommend others to watch atleast once for the talented acting by the team.

Wow

This has easily become my favorite drama. It was interesting from start to finish, there are no black and white characters, the acting is simply phenomenal and most of the recurring characters are incredibly lovable. Even the episodes that are the natural emotional low point story telling wise have very beautiful, profound and also funny moments. It does focus on social issues and has some heavy moments but they are balanced well with the overall lighter theme that the writers and everyone involved were going for and managed to portray wonderfully. It is also a drama that manages to invoke a very broad spectrum of emotions in its viewers, which I personally always believe to be a sign of great writing and understanding of the characters and their stories.

what?

the opening of the drama is quite comedic, but I feel bored in the middle of the drama when cases 5 or 6, sometimes there are cases that have a solving that makes me feel very satisfied and amazed, but there are also cases that do not show the judge's decision and make me mad

SATISFIED! CASE 4 VERY SATISFACTORY!

CASE 8, I am waiting for the verdict of bang gu ppong, but why is it not shown?

I don't know if I should say this or not, but I don't think this drama should be forced to have a couple lead, even some dramas that allow to have a couple sometimes have unclear status, and for just 16 episode drama but has 13 cases to be discussed, I think that kind of drama no need couple,, especially in my opinion the reason that makes them together is not strong enough to persuade, maybe the audience only finds it funny and romantic, but the chemistry is not enough, or they should start liking each other in season 2, because from the ending of season 1, the possibility to have season 2 is very high because the ending is still unclear,, there are still many unexplained problems,, and because of netflix's habit of always making "open endings",,

The couple in this drama,,, I don't think it is loving each other, but more like pity or sympathy for each other, and ML is not like ML is more like a support role who likes FL, Lee Junho's existence seems only because he is handsome, not attract enough to be ML, when compared to lawyers kwon, jung, and choi they are more attractive

I also think will get a surprise from the second and third CP, i think kwon and choi may be cross-coupled with wooyoungwoo's bar friends

many scenes that should be shown even if only a few but not shown,,
1. case 8, I am waiting for the verdict of bang gu ppong, but why is it not shown?

2. ep 16 moments after tae su mi met woo young woo before confirming, i was waiting for what taesumi would reveal, but instead went straight to court

not clear problems
1. the reason why Han hates Taesumi so much?
2. ‎

DONT UNDERESTIMATE ANYONE!

PLOT - Def better than I thought it was gonna be but a bit boring at times and this was quite a chore for me to finish. I really do like the idea though. Not sure why there will be a season two since I feel like things could’ve easily been wrapped up with one go. Guess the ratings in Korea were really good. My last complaint is the different court cases. After the first 3 eps I stopped paying attention to them as they didn’t interest me as much as the characters did. Almost all of them had no significance to the main plot, but they were able to showcase Woo’s intelligence and skills as a lawyer.

CHARACTERS - PEB as Attorney Woo was great! I know there was some talk about the way in which she went about portraying an autistic person however I think she did very well. As a person who went to a school with quite a few kids on the spectrum I thought her performance was very detailed and spot on. Imo nothing about her acting was mocking or disrespectful towards autistic people, and I think PEB felt pressured to make sure she was as accurate as possible as a non-autistic individual. Kang Tae Oh is very likable, at least out of the two I’ve seen him in. I love the way his relationship with Attorney Woo develops. He never insults her intelligence or is condescending in any way unlike the other lawyers. He doesn’t always understand her thinking but he is patient and kind enough to trust the process because he genuinely believes in her abilities. The whole revolving door technique he taught her was so thoughtful and cute I was gushing. Now I understand why people call Junho a green flag lol.
Jung Myung Seok was iffy and he had no backbone. Soo Yeon was seemingly cold and harsh, but under all that was concern for her friend. I like how she stood up for Woo behind her back and didn’t cave when others were against her. As for Min Woo, I didn’t hate him but being against Attorney Woo seemed pointless in the end. At first it made sense but after a while it felt like he was an antagonist just to be an antagonist. I think I really started to dislike him when he tried to get Woo fired. Overall as a group I like the comradery this group exhibited when together. Certain people were against Woo, but when it came to business differences were able to be put aside for the most part.

REWATCH VALUE - Thai show was cute but I would not watch this again nor will I be tuning in for the second installment. I like the plot but it felt very draggy at times.

Heartwarming, Cozy and Intelligent

Cozy, intelligent, heartwarming, whimsical - there are so many ways to describe this drama, which just goes to show much care and craft was put into it. I actually finished this drama awhile back, around the time it aired. Then I found some old notes about it on my computer and realized I never actually left a review.

The best of this drama is the characters. I love their dialogue and interactions. What the characters say and how they are saying them, feel clever, intricate and layered. I always appreciate a well-written and intelligent female lead and WYW really delivered. She will likely go down as one of my favorites. I loved the character chemistry and how the major relationships, romantic and friendship, turned out. This was due in large part of cast chemistry as well. The acting on everyone's parts (especially our FL) is phenomenal from tone and infliction down to subtle interactions. The comedy here was especially good in part because though minute movement and expressions landed so well.

The plot is good too. I really enjoyed the court cases although I have no idea how "accurate" they are. I appreciate the insight the show gives on how it's not always about "justice" and the moral grey zone that comes with large corporations. I did think the ending was a little rushed and the "main" storyline was a little sloppy.

Music was okay, nothing memorable sticking out but complemented the tone of the show. As for rewatch - I will still go back and watch clips from this show.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this show for a good time.

A lovely drama that hopefully will be completed by a season 2...

I really like the story of this drama, with different cases every episode it's entertaining and interesting eventhough at times it's not completely true to real life, but who watches kdrama for real life anyway? I would say a couple of episodes towards the end dragged slightly but nothing overwhelmingly slow.

After watching the last episode I think a season 2 would be a brilliant idea because I feel as if there are many scenes missing. Yong-Woo never got to see the wales in Jeju!

The biggest flaw in this drama is Min-Woo. I'm all for character development but that's just it, there was no development! He just suddenly changed for no reason... Hopefully in season 2 we might see more of his motives.

The acting is wonderful, Eun-Woo has excellent acting in her eyes! The cast really make the drama, I guarantee it wouldn't have been as popular without them!

The little jingle at the beginning is nice but I don't think any of the osts I'll be adding to my playlist. They're just like other kdrama osts, nothing particularly special.

Overall I really can't wait to see what they do with season 2! I hope it lives up to expectations and doesn't fall flat~ I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone!

One of the sweetest stories in k-drama land!

I'm not always a fan of episodic shows, but EAW kept it interesting and had a good balance of each case and the overall story. Overall the acting and character development is very good. I was a bit skeptical of Eunbin's portrayal of woo young woo, but was very soon convinced. I also liked a lot of the supporting characters, specially Attorney Jung and Attorney Choi. Also finally a male-romantic interested that Jane Austen would be proud of. I loved the romance in the show, it was sweet and simply and not over-dramatic. I literally don't trust people that say that they should skip the romance because why? all of the sudden the romance has too make sense, that is almost never the case for k-dramas. Also I feel like people only say this because they feel like someone "has too have a super good reason to fall in love with an autistic person", which in my very humble opinion is bs.

A big yeah for women's friendship!
One of my favorite things is EAW is the female friendships in the show. Both of them feel very realistic, but also so warm! The "Nickname" scene actually made me cry a bit and that's rare. I also love how both friendships are different from each other, yet both are filled with support.

A big yeah for symbolism!
This show has so much symbolism, the whales being the big and obvious one. I won't get into detail one this once since it's hard to discuss symbolism without spoiling something.

So why not a 10 star rating?
EAW doesn't get a 9 star rating because it has something obvious that knocks it down a star, but mostly because of my own preferences. I enjoyed watching this drama a lot, however I don't think I can compare it to some of my all time favorite k-dramas. And too be honest that might be because other dramas have most nostalgic value to me than EAW. The only thing the drama somewhat lacks is a memorable soundtrack. Nostalgia and music is super intertwined, so having a memorable soundtrack can really add to a story in my opinion. I put on the soundtrack on spofity a few days ago and I don't really remember any of the scores, besides the main intro. Even though the soundtrack in my opinion is a bit forgettable, the artwork definitely inst! I loved the opening animations for each episode as well as the final drawing.

A final note!
I have recommended this drama to a few of my friends (that usually don't watch k-drama) and 2 ended of watching it and both loved it. It's actually rare that I recommend a k-drama to my friends but I genuinely believe this is a show most people can get into, it has something for everyone! So if you haven't made up your mind yet I say GO FOR IT!
