Season 2 was worse but kudos for trying
I am a fan of the concept and overall storyline, however season 2 was rushed and fell short of season 1. The filming was sloppy, fight scenes were messy and the transitions between scenes watered choppy. It feels like they had a lot of budget restraints and a short timeframe for to complete season 2.Even though the production quality was lacking I still found myself hooked on the show and the characters. The introduction of the new character, Se Hyun, was a surprise and a great help to the show. Focusing on a new character did not destroy the ambiance of the ”Color Rush” series. The new character actually brought out a new & fun side to the main character, Yeon Woo. The chemistry between the leads was enjoyable, cute & refreshing. My interest in them kept me hooked until the end.
The story was truncated & the flow of it was choppy but the charisma of the 2 lead males pulled this show out of the gutter. This show wasn’t a masterpiece but I didn’t hate it.
One thing I could’ve done without was the cheesy last 40 seconds but I guess this is an attempt to pique our curiosity for season 3.

If you wanna know before watching here are a few things left unanswered:
-Yoo Han in the hospital (after credit scene)
-Why/when Yoo Han left the lapis at Se Hyuns house
-etc.

Its not the fact he wasn't there
A lot of people are mad because Yoo Han isn't in it but for me Its not he fact that Yoo Han wasn't in it that made it so I didn't like it. Its the fact he had feelings for this new guy and while yes he cared about finding Yoo Han it seemed as if he was just trying to find him as a friend or brother it didn't seem like there was any love in it. It seemed like they just swapped the love interest thats what bothers me. I know the kiss near the end was the one guy's imagination but It still seemed like he had feelings for him and he didn't care if he was losing feelings for Yoo Han at all. It really did just seem as if him and Yoo Han had a brotherly or friendship type of love. Was this review helpful to you?

continueation of first season
story: the changes they made with adding another character was OK. tho the new character was kinda just thrown in without any notice even tho he has been in the same school (he is suppose to be popular so there should have been a cameo of him in first season). nontheless, him being a 'friend' made the drama OKish - the main couple was still kept the same.there were a few things that needed work like the world of mono. in season 1 we got to see things from mono View but in this it was only first for a few second even tho the main focus of this season were two mono
music: don't get me started. loved the songs but felt some music choices did not fit the scene for example in ep 7 when they are fighting.
personally it's not something I would watch again -unless it's the first season.
however the ending does leave a good impression that the main couple will be back even if not the same actor. can't wait for season 3.

direct to the point this season focuses more on the story, unlike in season 1 where they focus on the story between the couple.although we did not see a lot of romantic vibes and we saw cute moments between the main leads, I think I much prefer this season because the story improves and it shows the things that season 1 did not show well. Hyuk played the character very well, and I hope he will have a lot of projects because he really is a good actor. Yoo Jun also showcase his skills in this series, I like how he acts with eyes, just by looking at his eyes you can see the emotions clearly. in season 1 I've seen a BL but lacks story and in season 2 they gave us a good story but lacks BL moments.
There are lots of improvements in the production, the actors act naturally, and I like the music because even if I didn't understand the lyrics It makes me feel love and sad as well.
I just wished that they used the last episode just for the two of them where there will be a development in their relationship.
I don't know what will happen if there will be a Season 3 of this because of the ending. Well, I really love to have another season I just don't know how well the production team makes it work, I just hope that they won't destroy the story.

It's okay... I guess?
Maybe I'm the only one thinking this, but this s2 is not completely bad but also not completely good.Story (7.5)
Interesting concept and starting idea. I think this S2 was a little darker than the first, but yeah, it's just right.
As much as I believe I missed many small details, perhaps because the translation wasn't the best, I understood the final goal of this season.
But speaking in detail:
-it leaves me a little disconcerted that, instead of killing (sorry I love him, it's only for plot's sake) or sending Goo Yan abroad, he has been kidnapped and for a whole series nobody spoke about him. And his family? If I don't remember wrong, they were powerful people, right? I don't know, it all feels so strange
-the final it's really good but if I have to be honest, Hyun deserved better. I loved him from the first time he appeared but like, he has gone through so much and all he had at the end was... a meal from Yeon Woo? Are you kidding me?
-the post-credit scene is... a little forced. I predict that in S3 the character of Goo Yan will return, but with a different face (and actor). Using the stratagem of "the face was ruined" or "he has gone through facial plastic" is brilliant for using another actor, but it seems, I repeat, forced. I think this will be explained like (I swear I didn't read the novel, so no spoiler): when the organization find out they kidnapped the wrong person and also find out he was a probe (or maybe they wanted this from the start), the doctor wanted to understand "if we change a probe's face will the mono go thought color rush again?" and then just operated Goo Yan
-I liked the final plot twist where we find out that the aunt always know (or maybe she discovered after the organization fell down?) where Goo Yan was. At least there is one person at his side.
Acting/Cast (8)
I'm not professional when we talk about acting, but I think Yoo Jun and Hyuk did really a good job. Yoo Jun just confirmed what we've seen on s1. He's a good actor and can really express himself (can we talk about the scene where he cries? cheff kiss). Same goes for Hyuk. Maybe he's not as handsome as Hyun Jun, but his bod- I mean his face is so nice. For the others: Lee Min Ji is good like always; Seo Hoo with red hair just hit different, he's such a cutie; I dunno why but Hyo Gi remembers me P'Gun (from 2gether) and I just love this kind of face. Also the way his character just show up and say meaningful things makes me laugh so much :')
Music (9)
Can someone please stop k-bl to use such beautiful songs? If you want to discover new songs and new artists you can just watch a k-bl and that's it. I just want to do a little specification: in the scene where Yeon Woo and Hyun are for the first time into their "room" the song says "Why do you look away whenever our eyes meet?" and then Yeon Woo say "Se Hyun, look at me!" like he already knew how Hyun feels about him. This is just... wonderful.
Rewatch Value (6)
Probably going to rewatch when a decent translation and s3 come out... for other times... no, just rewatch the s1, sorry.
Overall (8)
Maybe I seemed a little critical on this review, but I actually liked this show. If I don't remember wrong there are 3 volumes of the novels, so probably the s3 it's going to be the last. I think it's going to be suuuuuper interesting, so I'm really waiting for it!

GOODBYE YOO HAN! YOU WONT BE MISSED
I'm starting watching the series with caution because of the bad reviews on this app saying how bad the storyline for the 2nd season compared to the 1st season, especially with Yoo Han not starring for the sequel -But I actually find myself adoring the 2nd season way more than the 1st season - but ?mostly to each preferences if you're asking me-
I also cant help but feels like the bad reviews were coming from those diehard fans of the 1st season where they pissed Yoo Han was being replaced by Hyuk
For people who had watched the 1st season, they need to understand the 2nd season is a whole independent plot which doesn't related with 1st season- and this is where people failed to understand
1st season were focus on Romance where they introduced the Mono/Probe relationship
But 2nd season were more on Criminal/Suspense where their focus on Mono lifestyle and how an obsession to see color would end up being dangerous to themselves
Now let's talked about casting:
Hyuk probably knew that he would be getting a lot hate/dissed remarks for being the male lead of 2nd season and replacing Yoo Han seat entirely, but I amazed with how he portrayed his character on the series
SeHyun(Hyuk) acting very well for his solo character and I feel for him with his persona - the protective older brother who's only has his Mono little sister as his family that would do anything & everything to protect her from the danger of Gray Scale organization
Couple Wise: To be frankly honest I prefer SeHyun to be the LI with the male lead compare to Yoo Han. It's probably because SeHyun character has established as protective from the beginning hence he being very protective at times is more understandable and logical.
While Yoo Han did his best to show his protective side, but for me it comes out more as annoying rather than contributing any merit to his character development.
I read in some comment how they want Yoo Han to comeback for the 3rd season(if they have it!) to create love triangle tension between him, SeHyun & male lead - which for me that ideas was totally unnecessary at all & has no benefit to the story what so ever
Rewatched Value? Absolutely! I'm probably the 1st one who's gonna have Color Rush 2 ON LOOP because I really like the story pace compare to 1st season- Guess Im not much of a Romance person and this season just fit my plate perfectly
Overall? Color Rush 2 totally blown my socks away despite the bad reviews from other people. I feel like I'm watching a whole different show because I adore the 2nd season way more than the 1st season.
Should people needs to binge the whole 1st season to understand 2nd season? For me it's not very necessary unless you want to know why Yoo Han keep mentioned in the story
Color Rush 2 can stands on it own - they are different & has very little connection with the 1st season.
People should stop giving low marks & bad review for the 2nd season because you can't compare both seasons as one when the storyline for both seasons were different!

Different than you know it from 2020.
First season of Color Rush delivered something I was really exited for, because for me, it was quite rare mix of BL, soulmates concept and slight thriller / horror experience. It had it flaws for sure, but even considering that, this sequel left me quite disappointed and there were things I just could not overlook.N O T S P O I L E R F R E E / N O M A J O R S P O I L E R S
Choi Yeon Woo lost the person he longed for the most - Yoo Han, his Probe, the person thanks to which he was able to see colours for the first time in his life. And apparently for the last time. Leaving huge gap in his chest and a desire to find out who kidnapped him and if he's still alive, he starts his own investigation. In the end the leads bring him closer to finding out what happened to his mom and what a shady business are desperate Monos dragged into...
I appreciate the effort the creators put into changing the story due Hur Hyun Jun leaving the show after the first season. Problem is, it wasn't very well executed and the plot holes left weird taste in my mouth. Plot holes matter, the good ones only tho.
Another thing I appreciate is trying to fill in Hyun Jun's place and Hyuk had it very hard, because Hyun Jun left behind high expectations for his successor. I love Hyuk, I miss VIXX, but this wasn't IT for me. Hyuk's character was written in such unlikable way and all my attempts to like him went in vain. There was no connection and I actually ended up not carring for any of the characters on the show.
There were awkward editing mistakes, weird cuts between scenes, odd soundtrack cuts, the dialogue structure was off... The whole thing was just a hot mess.
I feel like the story they went for could've been really good, if it was done some other way and if they didn't try to put too many themes in. I missed the original concept of scenes that were just black and white (they just left that in season 1), there was no soundtrack that could grab my attention (after 2 years I am still obssesing over the soundtrack they used for when Yeon Woo was experiencing his color rush), the ending had me throwing hands and overall, I was not happy.
Will rewatch it? Nope. Hoping for season 3? Not really.

WORST BL SEASON 2 EVER! JUST AS BAD AS LOVE ALARM!!!
I really despise this season for multiple reasons. The crappy acting, the awful recasting, and most of all, THEY GOT RID OF YOO HAN! If Hyunjun didn't wanna be in season 2, why not just stop the show at season 1? This is just as bad as what happened with Love Alarm, they ruined the entire show. They should've just been content with one season, they didn't need to go and replace Yoo han like that. The only good thing is that Yeon woo didn't end up with the idiot who replace Yoo han and they stayed just friends. Overall, I really hope that if there's a season 3, they bring back Yoo han and Yoo han comes running to Yeon woo with open arms, gives him a warm embrace, and a passionate kiss. Was this review helpful to you?
They tried but failed
I know that everyone that watched the first season and enjoyed it was expecting something really good about this but I weren't, sequels are rarely as good as the first season and I am aware of that. The issue here is that they ruined almost the entirely original story in order to make the second season happen and I (who wasn't expecting nothing) ended up hating the producers choice. If you don't read the novel you might like the second season but there some holes in the story and they exaggerate in other points, if I knew this was coming I would prefer no sequence at all.

They could never do better than season 1 !
Color Rush Season 2 was the Korean BL I was most excited about this year!Although I knew it wasn't going to be easy - because Hur Hyun Jun wasn't gonna be there and I was really wondering (worried about) how could they make the plot evolve without him.
Season 1 introduced such an interesting (never seen before) concept to us: monos/probes and this "obsession" of seing the world in colors (for monos). Besides this main plot, there were also some side plots (Yeonwoo's mother missing / Yeonwoo's aunt's researches) that helped carrying the "mystery" part of the drama. This world of monos/probes could have been exploited so much more in season 2!
I dont want to be mean but I feel like season 2 totally ruined everything season 1 built.
For me, it was written kinda like a fanfic; it felt a bit amateur/childish and also rushed but I guess its because they wanted to keep the same format -8 episodes X 15minutes as season 1. This season was not as great and creative as season 1 - like when you're watching it, you can see something's missing ( Yoohan duh) and they tried their best to "cover it".
* Story: It was not enough for me. Where is the passion/obsession we witness in season 1? Where is the Yeonwoo that wanted to kidnap Yoohan to keep him forever?
They could have exploited the probe/mono world much more than what they did (like Mono's website/underwold this need for colors / and the importance of stones like Lapis-lazuli...) and other questions around monos and their relations to the world (is it possible for monos to fall in love with someone else?).
They could have give us something (more) / more chemistry between Yeonwoo and Sehyun.
What about Sehyun's sister - Yewon - and her obsession for surgery? What about their parents?
What about Yohan's friends - why throughout the episodes - was I feeling that they knew much more on the probe/mono world than what they were saying?
Yeonwoo's aunt - she's giving him so much freedom in this season lol + the ending to the "plot" she was giving really disappointed me - it was too obvious, and they could have done it better.
* Acting/cast : It was my first time seeing Hyuk as an actor and I was really surprised (I used to be a big VIXX fan back in 2012-2015, never thought he would become an actor haha) but I guessed he played his role okay. It was a "cliché" role in my opinion - I don't know if I make sense, but he was the side kick that Yeonwoo needed for the story and thats it. There was some cute moments, but the chemistry wasn't as mind-blowing as Yeonwoo-Yoohan in season 1.
Oh Yujin is cute, would have loved to see more of her in the drama! + Yoohan's bestfriends - they need their own stories too in my opinion.
Some passages between Yeonwoo and Sehyun felt forced, and not that cute (to me). I really didn't like the part when they were in the lab - it felt really amateur and too simple for me.
* Rewatch value: Its a no from me. Once was enough. Im glad they released all the episodes at the same time though. (its a real torture to wait for days) But I'm not watching it again.
*Overall value: I feel that this season raised more questions than it answered. The ending wasn't satisfying - was it even a real ending with that kind of "end"?

Color Rush 2, a BL without the love and the color rush
Color Rush 2 is not bad. If this was a new series to even a side story I would have enjoyed the series quite a lot. The problem is: Color Rush 2 is a completely different show from Color Rush.Season 1 is a teen BL romance with the extra spice of the mono/probe world, for that reason, the mom mystery not being solved in season 1 was not a problem for me. Season 2 already started with a big disadvantage when one of the protagonists chose not to come back. With that, at least 2 of the major aspects of the show were weakened. Without Yoo Han we don’t have the romance we spent 8 episodes developing on season 1 and we don’t have a Color Rush, since Yeon Woo doesn’t have probe anymore.
As far as the new stuff, I actually liked Sehyun, and Hyuk was great in the role. I was quite surprised with the dark tone the show took very early on. Despite the 1st episode starting with Yeon narrating how his boyfriend was kidnapped 6 months earlier, by episode 2 we have the death of a teenager by the hands of an evil organization. Yes, season 1 had presented us with several crimes related to the mono/probe relationships and a suicide attempt. But season 1 still had the, literally, colorful moments of the protagonists falling in love. Season 2 is a teen crime/investigation show, where people don’t go to school. That also means that we barely get Min Jae and Joo Haeng scenes.
Based on the post credit scene on episode 8, I’m intrigued with what they’re planning for Color Rush 3. I think it’s far to imagine that they’re recasting Yoo Han’s role, since I doubt the actor is coming back.
