Two desperate refugees are forced to begin new lives in Taiwan, struggling to retain their compassion and hope for a better future as their youthful idealism fades with each passing day. Saita is from Java, and Supayong is from Thailand. Though they can only communicate in Mandarin, their intimate bond helps them both to endure the hardships of poverty and face the fear of deportation as they forge ahead into an uncertain future. As Saita seeks comfort in the company of a fellow foreign worker and a retired film star, Supayong reluctantly resorts to stealing and prostitution as a means of making money. With each passing day, the reality of their situation grows increasingly stark, and their dreams of a brighter grow dim. When fate drives Saita and Supayong apart, they must summon all of their inner strength to endure, and never lose hope that they will one day be reunited. Edit Translation
