Perfect for Romance Lovers - Cute, Fluffy and Low-Stress
“Hi Venus” is the perfect low-stress romantic comedy. If you want to de-stress like me, I recommend this sweet and fluffy drama to satisfy your inner romance cravings There’s no angst, no evil ex-girlfriend, no overprotective or over-demanding parents, and no misunderstanding. It’s not perfect, but it’s the perfect remedy to lift up your spirits.Plot - Even though the drama’s main setting is at a hospital, this is not a medical drama at all. You rarely see doctors in action and even though there are some hospital politics, they do not dampen your rom-com pleasure. This could be a good or a bad thing, as you might find the plot to be on the lighter side and lacks substance. Romance takes center stage and primarily about the romance between Ye Shi Lan, a pediatrician who was sent to a remote clinic, and Lu Zhao Xi, newly appointed HospitalPresident.
Main Romance - Romance between Lu Zhao Xi and Ye Shi Lan develops nicely and with good pacing. We start off with a typical misunderstanding, then they become good friends and eventually fall in love. There are plenty of cute and fluffy scenes, hugs and decent kisses. I love the “Does he/she like me” part of the plot before the leads get together. I also enjoy the honest conversation they have as friends, and continue on as lovers. Two individuals brought up very differently and have very different life experiences. They learn from each other, esp. FL who opens up her heart and becomes a happier person. As much as I enjoy their honest conversations about ideals, life and experiences, a small part of me thinks it might be a little too ‘preachy’. I also miss the spunkiness that FL displayed in earlier episodes. Nevertheless, this is a drama with enough scenes of the leads together and not just resorting to the last few minutes of the drama.
Secondary Romance - Another cute and adorable couple in their own way. They did not take up too much of the screen time, but enough for me to care about their love story. Not a whole lot of PDA for this couple, but I don’t think it’s needed.
Other Characters/Relationships - it’s quite rare to find almost everyone likable. There are a few ‘villains’ but they are not overbearing. It’s also rare to find a C-drama without mean and demanding parents. I love the relationship between ML and his mother. They are like best friends. I also like the boss/subordinate relationship between ML and his Secretary Lin. The deadpan comments and love advice Secretary Lin gave to ML are funny and they have an interesting dynamic. FL and her best friend Yao Jia Jia also have a great sismance going on. I was expecting a little more from FL’s ex-boyfriend and that he might play a bigger role, but that’s not the case.
OST - There are 3 main songs in this drama and they are decent. I do think they are overplayed a bit. There are some funny sound effects to complement many comedic moments. However, I also feel that these sound effects can seem somewhat manipulative in forcing me to feel a certain way.
Overall, if you are looking for a cute, fluffy and low-stress romantic comedy, I strongly recommend this drama. We have a good main romance with honest and open communication. There is no annoying character. But if you are looking for something with a more interesting plot that’s not as romance-focused, you might be disappointed. I needed a drama like this, and had a very enjoyable time binge-watching. 24 episodes is a perfect length for a drama like this.

What a healthy relationship looks like
First this first, i couldn't resist Joseph zeng. Oh my god how can someone look so good and the easygoing optimistic character he has played here is just cherry on top. I first thought that there would be same bossy cold arrogant character with same past trauma or leads having childhood connection with each other or male lead's bad relationship with his parents. But when I watched it the characters were really good. No past trauma to male lead .ml is shown rich but he in series it was not over the top. He repeats clothes, he is not so fussy about things. He is a person who is happy with little things and I loved this the most i could connect to him . Male lead' relation with parents and their conversation is a whole mood. Now I come to female lead. She in the first episode looks so grumpy but when she meets hero, improvement in her overall character is clearly visible. And then I come to the best part is their relationship. Finally no breakups in between and this series has really shown what a healthy relationship looks like their understanding their teasing and their conversation looks so natural. They don't act awkward as we have shown in other dramas that even kissing is so shocking to fl especially. Here both are very open to each other.MUST WATCH DRAMA FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO WATCH A CUTE REALISTIC LOVE STORY.
PS. My first drama of Joseph but bro I fell so hard for him ❤️

Extremely BORING
Plot - basically about a pediatrician becomes the assistant of the president of the hospital she works and thus their love story starts from there. The setting might confuse people of it being a medical drama but it's just an office romance.
Story - their is no actually story in this drama to begin with. There is basically the main CP and the second CP whose story can be easily skipped as it doesn't take anything away from the main CP. The initial plot made me interested as it started in a village with the FL misunderstanding the ML as a swindler but later on when it shifted back to the hospital in the city it just went downhill from there. The pace of the story is extremely slow and when I mean slow it means as slow as a snail. I'm okay with a slowburn if it's good, but here it was infuriating. I'm okay with a drama not having intimate scenes or even a kiss but for this one I wanted to end it as soon as possible. Everything from the start to end went smoothly for the couple and at the very end the writers thought to throw some unnecessary problems which can't even be termed as that and then boom the end.
Acting - this is my first time with both the lead actors and I've to say this if anyone carried the drama then it's hands down Joseph Zeng, but even he felt flat after a few episodes, and as for our FL, at the beginning I really didn't liked her character and even though she had major character development later she just didn't appeal me at all. And there weren't really many interactions between the leads and other characters. There were extra unnecessary characters with mediocre performance.
Chemistry - the leads as friends were good but there is no heart fluttering, butterflies erupting chemistry between them. If there weren't showing any kind of skin ship then they could easily be mistaken as close friends, nothing else.
Production - it was a low budget okayish production. The leads literally wore the same clothes again and again.
OST - was decent enough.
My personal fav characters might be ML (not always), assistant Lin, the director and deputy director from the village clinic and the male doc who worked at that clinic after the FL left for the hospital in the city. They were surprisingly the funny.
What I disliked the most:
1. Even though the ML is the president of a huge private hospital, he has all the time for the FL and often can be seen with her other than actually working.
2. The ML's whole purpose in this drama is to support the FL in every possible way. His actions just revolves around her that's why his character was very one dimensional. He really doesn't have anything else to do in the entire drama.
3. FL was supposed to be a pediatrician but through out the whole drama she was seen working as the president's assistant which she was miraculously good at. (Are you kidding me?) And even after getting the opportunity to return back to her department she was still willingly working as an assistant. Like why?
4. Through out the entire drama FL kept saying that she was working at that hospital so that she could buy her own house and thus even refused to change the hospital even after being bullied at her workplace. At the end where is the house? By the end of the drama she probably forgot about it. There is no clear clarity of her character arc. Her father's suicide which was unnecessary was actually dragged till the very last episode.
5. The FL's character started out as hot headed, fiesty, aggressive, cold but still kind hearted. But after returning back to the hospital she changed into a submissive, soft spoken, kinda trying to be cute, and always agreeing with the ML no matter he is right or wrong. He successfully brain washed her, sold her out, caused her to get humiliated etc.
6. This was supposed to be a romcom but the cute romance was there but comedy was truly missing. To many long monologues, advices and life lessons were thrown in each episode and due to the lack of chemistry between the leads it's just felt frustrating.
7. The documentary plot, the plot with that popular actress, ML's ex gf cum producer plot, the whole Gao plot, FL's ex bf plot, after introducing them either they suddenly disappeared or solved without any problem. Like the GAO plot, he created problems but it wasn't even shown clearly exactly what happened to him or how he got punished or what were exactly the accusations on him. It just miraculously resolved. As if the writers just threw it in last min to spice up the drama as the story was going smoothly or should I say too smoothly for my liking.
8. ML might break the stereotype of being the typical overbearing CEO but he sure was childish most of the times and extremely chilled and laid back which made me not take him seriously most of the times.
9. The BGM. Even if the scenes weren't funny the heavy use of sound effects might manipulate someone to think it's actually funny and it was heavily used all the time.
10. Costume of the FL made her look like a grandma beside the ML.
11. Each episode just consisted of the leads taking a walk with a cup of coffee, long launches or dinners, FL buying another kind of flowers, going home, sleeping, then again going to work and the repeat of the above. That was all to summarize the drama and not to forget typical cliches like shopping in the mall. After every second scene they were there.
12. Same repetitive dialogues.
13. FL and ber best friend's scenes could be skipped too as she gave decent advice but not always great.
14. Mostly cliche, almost everything and there were many confusing parts with questionable actions.
15. After the torturous run of the entire drama we got an unsatisfactory ending. There was no wedding or a proper glimpse of what they might be doing in the future. Tbh I felt like I was watching a teen romance than two mature adults. I personally think the last episode should actually be termed as a filler. It left like it.
Final Verdict - give it a pass and don't waste your time. There are much better romcoms out there.

#hilarious #healingdrama #sweetest
#hilarious #healingdrama #sweetestMy stress reliever drama is finally over, I have no idea what to do with my life anymore. I can't explain how much I like the drama, I'm so hooked. I guess I'll have to watch it over and over again. I've been thinking about this all day for a while. It's always on my mind. I don't think I'll forget this one.
Possible reasons why I'm addicted to this:
📌 Leads have 200% chemistry, I always feel giddy and exhilarating. My heart flutters for them. They're a green flag couple with more realistic qualities.
📌 Acting is great for both of them, I just become a fan.
📌 Slow-burn romance
📌 Super healing drama with no toxicity. It makes you so happy.
📌 The script is well written I'm impressed actually, it's the whole production. The overall quality is 💯 over the top.
📌 Super hilarious, they have splendid repartee together.
📌 One of the best OST I have found in cdramaland, applause to the music producers. I can't get enough of them, it's been on my repeat playlist. They're so good. The sound effects are perfect too.
📌 There is no over the top cliche scenes.
📌 One of the best love confession ever, this is no. 1.
The overall quality of this drama is outstanding from the cast, music, cinematography, acting, directing and genius script. I would never get tired of recommending this.
Rating this 11/10 ⭐ one of the best healing and slowburn drama I have ever seen. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to make his/her heart flutter and laugh. Something light and funny but done very well. I will be missing this drama so much.

Revisit your own feelings of falling in love
A simple story well told with no weird editing or choppy plot lines. You can simply bask in the feeling of falling in love and smile as the characters move on with their lives. It is probably the first drama I watched where I just giggle and smile through every episode.A huge shoutout to Joseph Zeng and Liang Jie for both nailing the roles well. Their chemistry is on fire and you will feel like you are falling in love together with them. Both have also improved since their last drama together.
Can’t wait to rewatch this again and hope we will see another good quality drama with both of them together !

Sweet, but boring at times
The highlight of the drama for me was Ye Shilan's character growth, and how she gradually came to terms with her father's death. However, I had one significant complaint. Throughout the story, Ye Shilan mentions how her ultimate goal was to buy a house of her own (that was the whole reason she was staying at the hospital), but that storyline was never completed. Unless I missed something, the drama ends without her having accomplished this key goal, which made her character arc feel incomplete. For me, Lu Zhaoxi really fell flat. He is depicted as the walking green flag boyfriend, but that is all he really is in the drama. I never felt like he had much of a personality and it felt like his purpose in the drama was to support Ye Shilan and nothing else. Even during the whole plot with Gao, he was, in the end, just a pawn for his father. I'm all for healthy relationships and nice MLs, but I just wished he had some more personality.
Another complaint I have is with the plot. I felt that there were slight hints to the whole Gao takedown plot, but nothing substantial throughout the drama. Then during the very last episodes, everything about that plotline was suddenly introduced, and just as quickly resolved. I never felt any connection or any real sense of danger, because the stakes weren't clearly introduced. It honestly felt like the scriptwriters felt that everything was going too smoothly, and they needed to add in a climatic event to end the series.
In the end, there isn't anything significantly wrong with Hi Venus, but it doesn't present any ground breaking ideas either. If you're looking for a light, fun drama that you can play in the background while doing other things, this would be a good pick.

Sensible romantic comedy
“I am lucky I met a person. He came into my life,
Lit up the corners of my heart,
Made me willingly shed off my mask.
He gave me the strength to let go of my past, have no fear of our future and focus on cherishing every present moment.”
A modernised contemporary rom-com. Written by the scriptwriter that produces Day of Becoming You, I love the familiar subvert of rom-com troupes with humor, wit and heart. It’s Wang Xiong Cheng’s signature style and he never disappoints. (Yes, I am biased, deal with it!)
While a love story between a humble 富二代 (child from rich family) and a driven working class sound like a fairytale come true, Hi Venus is a through and through down to earth romance of 2 sensible people, getting to know each other and overcoming the natural challenges that comes with their different social class.
Lu Zhao Xi (LZX), though born with a silver spoon, is a capable leader who respects individuals and conscious that the world does not revolve around him, just because he is rich. Ye Shi Lan (YSL), though came from a lower income single family, is a capable worker who sincerely earns her rights to where she is.
There are common plots in a romantic comedy. Their meet cute, is a typical setup of boy in trouble, girl saves boy, boy and girl start off at the wrong foot, but eventually fall for each other. What subverts the rom com troupes comes after LZX and YSL are back to the city. This part onwards, is refreshing to watch.
Both have different exposure and perspectives due to their respective background. Yet, both characters have actions and concerns that we can relate to.
They respect each other’s views and take accountability on their shortcomings. They take the time to understand each other and fall in love deeper, bit by bit. They communicate and listen. The parts where they had their greatest conflict due to the difference in their background and status, and then, their confession towards each other are sincere and warm and touching.
“LZX: I knew I had a momentary crush towards you way earlier. But I knew what I wanted is a constant and spontaneous feelings. It’s the kind of feeling where I can’t help but want to hear your voice, want to see you. Just seeing you makes me happy. I like to talk to you, I want to share my day to day to you. My feelings towards you are not a spur of moment. It’s what I am more certain over time, that it’s what my heart wants.
YSL: I feel blessed being liked by you. However, I am aware that I’ve never been a lucky person. So every time I become more immerse or too carried away, the alarm will set off. I’ll ask myself if I am able to handle that kind of happiness.
I’m a timid person. I want to have it but I am afraid of losing it.
…But this time, I want to get carried away.”
And these make me buy in to their love story.
Apart from the main leads, the second leads love story is also lovely. It definitely has great potential as a spin-off or a short mini series in the right production team’s hands. Love the support they provided to the main leads, as any rom com best friend and secretary rightfully does. LZX’s parents are lovely too - the open minded, modern parents that we should have more in stories these days.
In short, Hi Venus is a relaxing rom-com that’s healthy for the soul. It’s our Venus to have such a show.

Nothing much about Venus.
The premise of this drama seemed interesting to me and I looked forward to watching it. However, I was let down by the drama. What I quite liked:
- I have not watched any drama with the ML before and I found him very watchable in this drama. I felt that he carried the show.
- The songs were quite nice.
- There was very little angst.
What I didn't quite enjoy:
- There was hardly any plot. There was hardly any drama in this drama.
- Also, this drama was a romance which wasn't very explosively romantic or "oh my goodness". The ML and FL have hardly any sizzle or chemistry.
- The actors and actresses in this drama seemed as though they were all just delivering lines without much emotion or aplomb. There wasn't anything that made me go "wow". Often, I felt that the acting was fairly stiff and stilted. (An aside: The acting for Dear Missy was excellent and everyone was in character and acted so well that they did not appear to be acting.)
- The ending was happy but I expected more from two adults in a relationship. After all, they weren't little kids.
Overall, my verdict is -- watch as a filler but if there are more interesting dramas out there, it is fine to skip this one. It isn't a bad watch but there is nothing much to it. There is nothing much about Venus.

Great Feel-Good Drama
I haven't written a review in almost a year, but I just felt like this is one of those drama's that left an impression on me, soI decided I'll write one.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this, and it's been years since I started a drama that was still premiering, but I ended up starting this anyways because it was in my list and the comments said they were sweet, so i dived in. I am not disappointed at all, the story was nice, the acting was great, their chemistry was definitely there and they just honestly looked like a great couple, they developed from enemies, friend to lover, and had so much love and respect for each other.
The OSTs was very good, it tied everything together so well, it definitely played a huge part from my perspective, I've even added them to my "Songs from drama list" and only songs that touch me end up in that list.
If you're hesitant, you love feel-good shows, with no break up, a healthy couple, that loves and respect each other, no angst but has the right amount of friction, then give this a try, for me it doesn't matter how low or high something is rated, it all depends on my mood and if I'm interested. So just apiece of advice, no matter what you read about a show good or bad, never go in with high or low expectations, try to watch with a neutral level, so you can form your own opinion on a show, tht way you either love it or hate it on your own.
This show isn't some kind of outstanding masterpiece, but for romance lovers, it's a really great feel-good drama, that had great chemistry and love, so I rate based on what I saw and how I felt when watching and while it ended.

Some pretty decent fluff
This is one of those easy to watch dramas with just enough drama, confusion and misunderstandings to give it some substance but not to much to make you annoyed, frustrated or kept on your toes... However it has one of C-dramalands most interesting male leads who while he may practice wrist grabs seems self aware and respectful towards women. The female lead is shown as a typical cold awkward (normally male) lead but poor to keep them from being equally footed . She is also smart, reserved for most parts and admits to having some kind of sexual desire. All things that may seem too good to be true but indeed are part of this drama. The main couple is also very playful an have a bunch of adorable funny scenes self aware teasing scenes... Fun, heart fluttering, cute...The drama also has the obligatory best friend whose side story and role do not really add anything to the plot but is not the least bit annoying, and actually gives ok advice. Another rare occurrence in c- dramaland. The parents are also lovable, dare I say goal type parents.
There are of course some characters worth choking, but they are very few and their screen time is extremely limited. giving us 90% lovable people on screen.
I was. debating with my own inner monolog if this is a 9, or an 8,5 star drama but what keeps it from getting a higher score is the lack of substance, lack of stuff that will keep you on your toes, some boring monologs, and that the chemistry is good, not mind blowing but just good and the kisses are fine, again nothing to steamy but decent enough. So I guess it is a high 8,5.
All in all definitely a drama I recommend for all those who just need an easy binge without to much unnecessary stuff but with a whole lot of fluff and a very lovable main couple...
P.s. there is also a tiny hint about a lesbian couple hidden in there... subtle enough to pass censorship but clear enough if you look at mimics, gazes and pay enough attention.

Mellow Light Hearted RomCom
I initially thought this was a medically focused drama but it turns out its focused on the buildup of the romantic relationship between the Hospital President and a Pediatrician. It is a light breezy romance comedy which so far doesn't have any heavy drama or serious angst. I've seen the FL in other dramas and she is a good actress who mostly picks pretty good dramas to be in. I haven't seen the ML before, he has the looks of some popular idol who transitioned into acting. His acting is decent enough as a young wealthy Hospital President who through fate crosses paths with the Pediatrician FL. He doesn't realize his true romantic feelings for her until later on. They start off in somewhat bad terms when he is stranded in a rural small village in China and the FL grudgingly helps him but mistakenly thinks he is a swindler . Later on, the FL transfers back to the hospital and becomes the ML's assistant. At first it seems like the ML is going to get his revenge but turns out he is not that petty and their relationship develops further. What is there to like about this?
-ML's character doesn't seem to be the typical distant cold rich CEO that is played out way too much in cookie cutter "basic" Asian Romcoms. He is accessible to some extent and is the one who initiates developing the relationship with the FL further. First as work colleagues, later as friends, and as predicted and expected: The Kissy couple.
-FL is a pretty good actress, she's cute and doesn't look plastic. She plays a strong character who can also be vulnerable.
-It doesn't shy away from portraying toxic hostile sexist work environments. The FL endures that with her boss who is the head of the Pediatrics unit. He is a complete jerk who forces his subordinates to suck up to him 拍马屁 .
-Sismance between the FL and best friend SML 闺蜜 is good, the SML character is funny and cute
What could be improved?
-Pace of the drama is a bit slow, the initial episodes of the ML meeting the FL in the rural village were good but after that the story kind of plods along
