The Man's Voice (2021)

This drama about a guy who loves his cat a lot and find a girl to take care of his cat while he was traveling
And the girl loves him while ago and he didn't know
And one day the girl was struck by lightning and can communicate with the cat and talk to it

It was promissing for me and i thought it will be smooth and cute

But with sorrow it was so trivial and shallow
The events were in mess

And there was no intro for the 2nd FL
She just exists, stalking and spoiling
That's it

The story missed depth and arrangement a lot
The directing was extremely bad

I thought it will be comedy like the cat will fool the FL many times pretending helping her to win the ML's heart
Then the ML will pay attention for the FL according to that
But nothing of that happened
And the events were lukewarm and weird
The characters were shallow also

And the FL was stubborn as a mule at ep 07
She accused the ML of cheating her and when he tried to explain many times she refused and insists to leave him then she cried because he left her
REALLY!!¡???? 😏

And continuing her stupidity after knowing the truth from the cat her reaction was extremely weird

and when she was going to meet him she had an accident the normal reaction should be calling him
But guess what??
YESSS she didn't
And when she did the mobile was out of battery
She should take a taxi to reach him fast
But NOOO
She preferred running the whole distance

Why .. to continue raising my temper
What is the hell was that??????
Very annoying drama

And what was that overreacting action for 2 people who met just for a few days
They act as if they loved each other for years or something
I really wasted my time

I watched it for Tae Joon
But I regret A LOT

Immature writing and characters

What I liked:
1) It was only eight episodes.
2) It did improve for me somewhat at episode six.
3) Choi Tae Joon. I watched another show where he was the lead, and he doesn't really have the presence to carry a lead role. At least in this, there were so few episodes, that his ability wasn't noticeably lacking.
4) I loved their date, them spending time together and getting to know one another.
What I didn't like:
1) The language. I am totally not a fan of cursing.
2) The cat's voice was totally wrong.
3) The girl in ML's photograph was shown multiple times, with a flashback to explain how they met, but then a BRIEF explanation of what happened to her (if you blinked you would miss it). The ML looked exactly the same in the 7-year-old flashback as he did in the present. When the psychotic girl showed up, I thought it was her in the photograph, but she was a completely different character!
4) The psychotic girl. They should have changed her hair and makeup, so she looked more "normal". She didn't even have to say or do anything, she just LOOKED crazy. Plus, her behavior and what she did was actually illegal - he should have had her arrested.
5) Too much drinking.
6) Weakness of the ML in dealing/not dealing with psychotic girl.
7) Editing issues. ML leaves his own home when the crazy girl won't leave, but in the next scene he's at home, and the crazy girl isn't seen again for quite a while.
8) The fantasy scenes in the elevator were just clunky to watch.
9) Repeat of the same song over and over.
10) So, the ML is supposedly totally enamored of his cat, yet he lets some random woman that he doesn't know take care of it?
11) Generally, the overall campiness bothered me. It felt like the parents, the cat, the lightning was all just played for laughs, so it felt very slapstick. That's fine, but then it would try to move into a more serious tone, and it overall just didn't work.

Just Average!

I watched it because of Choi Tae Joon and his cat. I just fell in love with his hairstyle. Omg! What happened to me?
And because of this Choi Tae Joon and I am a cat lover, so I watched it till the end.

I like the storyline. I like this drama because it is short and simple. No need to crack out brain so hard. But……..but…….I think the voice for the cat is not suitable. And, I’m surprised to see Choi Tae Joon character in this drama are quite a lot of kissing scene. If I am Park Shin Hye, I will be very very jealous! 🤭 And! the FL character is just too over reacting.

And I felt annoying too. In the last episode, why she choose to run when she can just take a cab? Why director always give her annoying character? Remember drama My Secret Romance? It’s the same FL and still the same annoying character. The one who cannot think straight. 😬

I know the FL is not guilty. She just follow according to the script. But still I feel annoying. Anyway, I enjoyed watching Choi Tae Joon. So from 10, I gave 6 stars only.

It was a cute, short drama but…

This drama was cute and short… two of my favorite things in a drama. However the storyline lacked. Parts of it ticked me off the way they write in the ML’s part. I will explain…

Storyline - it was straight forward but there were parts I had a hard time wrapping my head around. Like… why, Why, WHY??? Do they always make it so the guys are not straight and to the point with another woman?? I mean come on!!! He should have told her when she insisted on staying at his place that he would leave instead then went straight to his “sort of girlfriend” and told her what was happening. I mean come on! And the sad thing is most dramas (whether Asian, American or wherever) are like this! They make the ML dumb when it comes to other women and their “charms” or manipulations. I wish this drama had a ML/FL that actually communicated. The FL should have also sat down and REALLY listened to him. Also, when he found out she was stalking his girl he should have went straight to the police because you know she would never really give up just like that. That woman was pure evil! When she told him she wanted to stay by his side and he said “no he had someone already” I was shocked in the next scene she was with him dropping off his cat! And hanging on his arm no less! He did nothing!!! Really???? Ok I am done. Other than those things I really did like the drama. It was not all that bad. I thought her communication with the cat was fun. I think they overdid her reaction to finding out the cat “talked” to her. This day in age I would have been like, “I can talk to my cat!!! This is awesome!!!” Especially if it meant me getting a hot guy lol. The cat was a snob just like I know a Persian, Siamese, or any one of those cats can be. (I know I had a Siamese for 19 yrs. My best bud and one of a kind, smart as hell, but a snob to anyone but me! Lol)

Acting/Cast - I liked all of them. I think they did a great job. Even the villainess made me hate her so I think she did a good job on her roll.

Rewatch - ya… I would it was not all that bad. Just me picking apart parts of the story. Not all dramas/movies are perfect.

So disappointingly irritating.

Nice idea, but just way too childishly executed for me.
The LF's character is far too irritating and the direction (or acting) is frustrating. She never gets to the point and there's far too much of her just talking, lamenting and noisily complaining ~ all unconvincingly.
The mother shouts and gets so physical, a lot, which also got on my nerves.
Scenes don't flow smoothly and I just couldn't get engaged with the story or characters at all, dropping at ep3.
The cat itself is gorgeous, but the voice they chose, just didn't suit it at all. A smooth, crooning, dignified style of voice would have worked better, rather than one more suited to an old streetwise moggy!
The LM is an actor I like and have seen in other, good dramas, where he has acted well, but he couldn't save this, unfortunately.
Just not for me.
