Japanese, love, sexual content. Same type of story line, fast-paced love, short series, possessive male lead.

This one also has 2 paths the main FL can take when deciding on an official boyfriend. Both stories introduce how a character feels about their very first loves. Kakafukaka is a bit racier........so make sure the kids are tucked tightly into bed before watching.

Now hear me out, I am well aware of the very BIG differences between these 2 series. Cherry Magic is really clean (everything happened behind closed doors, and is kept to a minimum), has a dash of magic realism, and is a BL romance on top of that. Rinko-San shows multiple intimate scenes on screen, is much more grounded in a realistic plot, and they are definitely straight.

But the driving premise, being a virgin well past the age that the average person is, is performed pretty similarly. And our main characters have such humorously similar imaginations and reactions to their romantic interests being forward with them. Not to mention, they both explore that workplace romance trope with established coworkers (rather than new ones), have friends inside and out of the workplace, with a friend that acts as a bit of a "love-guru" to the main.

So despite the pretty obvious differences, I couldn't help but be reminded of Cherry Magic when watching Rinko-San.

A love story begins when Hirasawa Momoko, the cafe clerk at a hotel, meets a stranger on the hotel's observation deck. Even though they have just met, they repeatedly kiss. The next day, Momoko is unable to forget about it and learns that the man was Hase Kei, the elite hotelier who works at the same hotel and is too "perfect" for her.

The main characters conduct an internal dialogue, the internal dialogues of both the female lead and the male lead are shown.

Both dramas take place in a hotel.
Both ML and FL are colleagues.
There is love competition in both
MLs protect FL in their own way.
Intimate content although you cant see much.

Has friends with benefits kind of relationship. Kuzu no honkai felt more mature but this one was lighter.

Both are romance, short and sexy. Both are relatively fluffy. Rinko has more love triangle, but less melodrama.

Both deal with the female lead character's reed to lose their virginity, as well as showing the emotional struggles defining that relationship after it starts.

Both leads got together due to an interesting circumstance (a bet vs a contract). The leads are in love with each other, but thinking the other party doesn't feel the same way. Does he/she love guess game! Both have Japanese humor but not too over-the-top. Also both have a business/office romance setting.

Sena is a college music graduate who dreams of becoming a professional musician and a world-class pianist. Unfortunately, he has not been able to find any breakthrough opportunities and has to settle for currently teaching piano at a local piano school.

Minami is an out-of-work model. On her wedding day, she was dumped by her fiancé, and when she rushed to her fiancé's apartment, she finds out that not only was her fiancé Sena's flatmate but that her fiancé had also skipped town along with all her savings. Rendered penniless, she then moves into Sena's apartment, occupying the empty room that was her former fiancé's.

The two down-on-their-luck persons with very different personalities find themselves bonding over their similar situations in life.
